Listed below are recent incidents responded to by the Benton County Sheriff's Office. This report does not reflect all Sheriff's Office activities and is updated as time and personnel allows.

ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On January 24, 2022, at about 5:45 am, deputies were dispatched to investigate a single-vehicle, non-injury crash at the intersection of SE Park Avenue and SE Crystal Lake Drive. They later determined that a driver crashed his 1997 Mazda pickup truck into the drainage ditch in the northeast corner of the intersection while trying to make a u-turn. The driver was cited for driving while suspended (violation) and his pickup truck was towed by B&R Towing to their lot in Corvallis.
DWS MIS; WARRANT ARREST - On January 23, 2022 at about 4:02 pm, deputies stopped Mr. Willard Madarus, 63, for driving an unsafe vehicle. Dispatch advised that Mr. Madarus was DWS- Misdemeanor and had five outstanding warrants for his arrest. Mr. Madarus was taken into custody, transported to the jail and lodged.
ELUDE - On January 22, 2022, at around 7:46 PM, a black Mercedes with no license plates eluded deputies from the parking lot of the Sunset Village Apartments in the 300 block of Hickory Street. The suspect vehicle entered Albany and was driving recklessly so deputies terminated their attempts to stop the vehicle and had dispatch advise the Albany Police Department.
DUII - On 01/22/2022 at approximately 2:49 am, deputies conducted a DUII investigation near Highway 34 and Electric Rd. Jesse Gergish, 37, was placed under arrest for DUII. Gergish was taken to the Benton County Jail.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 01/21/2022 at approximately 6:34 am, deputies were dispatched to a non-injury crash on Highway 34 near the Bypass. Two vehicles collided while executing a turn. Both vehicles required a tow. No injuries were reported.
WARRANT ARREST - On January 20, 2022, at around 1:27 pm, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a red 1996 Jeep Cherokee near the intersection of Philomath Blvd and 15th St. The driver, Jimmie Reed, 47, of Toledo, was arrested for a Probation Violation warrant out of Lebanon Municipal Court. Reed was released and issued a criminal citation for the warrant and citations for Driving while suspended-violation and Driving uninsured.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On January 19, 2022, at about 2:12 p.m., depuites were dispatched to Alpine Road just west of Foster Road for a non-injury single vehicle traffic crash. A driver was westbound with his two kids in the car, just west of Foster Road on Alpine Road. KALAR lost control of the rear of his vehicle, slid off the roadway, and into the ditch. There were no injuries, relatively minor damage, and it appeared the Honda was driveable once towed from the ditch. He contacted his insurance company who called a tow for him and was en route.
DEPOSIT TRASH W/IN 100YD WATER - On January 19, 2022, at about 11:00 a.m., deputies were driving southbound on NW 9th Street near NW Reiman Street when they saw a male, who they know from previous encounters to be MARK BEERS, 63. BEERS was on the westbound sidewalk throwing items/trash over the guard rail into Dixon Creek which is a waterway with water that feeds into the Willamette River. Deputies contacted BEERS, who cursed and yelled at them. Deputies later issued BEERS a criminal citation for Offensive Littering on or near a waterway and released him.
WARRANT ARREST - On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, ELLIS, Jerrad Keith, 35, of Shedd, turned himself in at the Benton County Jail on two different warrants for his arrest. Warrant #1: Benton County Circuit Warrant, Criminal Trespass II. Warrant #2: Lincoln County Circuit Warrant, PV DWS. He was issued new court dates and was released from jail.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, around 6:26 A.M., a semi-truck crashed on Highway 20 near milepost 38. No injuries were reported. A tow company was dispatched to retrieve the semi-truck.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On January 18, 2022, at around 6:48 pm, deputies were dispatched to Highway 34 MP 56 for a non-injury motor vehicle crash. A white 2003 Toyota Sienna had reportedly crashed and was partially obstructing the roadway. The Toyota was running and unoccupied. Deputies later spoke with the driver, who told deputies her car heater broke, which caused her to drive into the ditch as she turned onto Knowlton Lane. A tow company responded to remove the undamaged Toyota from the ditch.
WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, around 4:45 pm, BOYD, Hanna Louise, 25, turned herself into the jail on a warrant for her arrest for DUII. Deputies filled out a release agreement for Boyd to appear in the Benton County Circuit court. Boyd signed the release agreement and was released from jail.
DUII - On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at about 5:05 am, deputies stopped a white 2022 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck on Walnut Boulevard near NW 9th Street after watching it make two un-signaled turns and an un-signaled lane change. They later arrested the driver, David Edwin Perez, 33, of Lebanon, for DUII. Perez was cited and released.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Monday, January 17, 2022, around 3:20 P.M., a driver crashed his Nissan SUV into the end of the guardrail on Highway 20 at Blitz Lane. The guardrail was scratched but otherwise unharmed. The Nissan was damaged on the driver-side front bumper, fender, and headlight area. No one was injured. The Nissan was able to be driven.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, January 17, 2022, at 1:44 PM, deputies stopped a white Dodge Durango SUV near Springhill Drive & Ferguson Drive for multiple traffic violations. They cited and released the driver, SCOTT TRACY ROGERS, 59, for a confirmed misdemeanor warrant. ROGERS was also cited for Driving While Suspended (Violation) and Driving Uninsured.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, January 17, 2022, at about 6:45 am, deputies arrested Lori Jo Ann Schuh, 61, on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant. Schuh was cited and released at Linn County`s request.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Monday, January 17, 2022, deputies stopped a blue Chrysler Aspen because the registered owner had multiple warrants for her arrest. They later arrested the driver, Lorenso Rafael Lopez, 40, for DUII and Reckless Driving. Lopez was cited and released.
BURGLARY 1; INTERFERE W/ PEACE OFFICER; THEFT 2 - On Sunday, January 16, 2022, at 12:20 PM, deputies attempted to stop a male riding a bicycle in the area of NW Kings Boulevard & NW Grant Avenue for a traffic violation after they observed him exhibiting suspicious behavior. Before he escaped by fleeing on his bike, the male dropped a bag of items which included stolen mail and checks belonging to a resident in the 800 block of NW 23rd Street, Corvallis. Deputies determined the resident’s unlocked apartment had been entered earlier that day while she was downstairs taking some items to the trash. The stolen property had been sitting just inside the front door to her apartment when it was taken.
DWS MIS - On Sunday, January 16, 2022, at about 1:30 pm, deputies stopped Troy Clifford Smith, 60, for failure to maintain lane on Ferguson Road near Highway 99W. They later arrested Smith for Driving While Suspended as Smith was driving outside the restrictions of his driving conditions. They also issued Smith a criminal citation and a violation citation for Operating a Vehicle without an Ignition Interlock Device.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, January 16, 2022, at 6:45 AM, deputies contacted a motorist in a disabled vehicle on Tampico Road near Andrews Lane. The male was unable to produce any identification and was detained for the crime of Failure to Carry & Present a Driver`s License. Deputies determined the male was using his brother`s identity and had outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants for his arrest through Lincoln County and elsewhere. The male was identified as PAUL ALLEN CONKLIN, 31, and was transported to the Benton County Jail. CONKLIN was cited and released on his warrants at the request of the Lincoln County Jail due to overcrowding.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Sunday, January 16, 2022, at about 4:20 am, deputies saw a silver Toyota Solara  turn onto NW Jackson Avenue from NW Arnold Way without signaling. They later arrested the driver, Isaac Rocha Lopez, for DUII and Reckless Driving. Rocha Lopez was cited and released.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Sunday, January 16, 2022, at about 2:35 am, deputies saw a silver Volkswagen Jetta driving north on NW 9th Street near Circle Boulevard at 45 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. They later arrested the driver, Haley Elizabeth Hanshaw, 19, for DUII and Reckless Driving. Hanshaw was cited and released.
MENACING; UNLAW USE OF WEAPON; DISORDERLY CONDUCT 2 - On Sunday, January 16, 2022, at about 12:15 am, deputies were dispatched to the 34900 block of Tum Tum Road to investigate a report of a man menacing people with a firearm. Multiple Deputies arrived at the house at about 12:25 am and secured the area. They determined that Paul Glen Albers, 38, had threatened a man with physical harm while holding a loaded bolt-action rifle. Albers was arrested for Disorderly Conduct 2, Menacing, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Albers was transported to the Benton County Jail and lodged.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2; WARRANT ARREST - On January 15, 2022, at around 2:42 pm, deputies were dispatched to a trespass in the 4800 block of NW Barbara Street in Corvallis. Nathan Wilhoit, 23, got his car stuck in a field while trespassing on the property. Wilhoit also had two warrants for his arrest. Wilhoit`s car was towed and he was transported to the LEC where he was cited and released for trespass and his warrants.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Saturday, January 15, 2022, at about 12:30 am, deputies stopped a silver 2013 Jeep on Highway 99 near Circle Boulevard after it turned and changed lanes without signaling. They later arrested the driver, Tanner James Smith, 19, for DUII and Reckless Driving.
WARRANT ARREST - On January 14, 2022, at about 6:00 pm, deputies contacted Nathan Daniel Brown, 46, at Ellmaker State Park. Brown had two confirmed warrants for his arrest. Deputies cited and released Brown for both warrants. The first was a Sweet Home muni court warrant for Contempt-Theft II, $10000 bail. The second was a Lebanon muni court warrant for Probation Violation-Theft II, $10000 bail.
DWS MIS - On January 13, 2022, at around 12:40 am, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a white 2004 Chevrolet Malibu at Territorial Highway and Berg Dr. They later arrested the driver, Samuel Withnell, 37, for Driving while suspended-misdemeanor. Withnell was also issued citations for Driving uninsured and Failure to register his vehicle.
WARRANT ARREST - On January 12th. 2022 at around 10:55 PM, deputies made a traffic stop on a red Honda Civic hatchback in the parking lot of 655 Hickory St NW. The vehicle had expired tags, a missing front license plate, and a loud exhaust that appeared to be vented through the hood of the vehicle. The driver, Micah Stagg, 25, had a suspended license, no insurance, and also had a Lebanon Municipal Warrant for driving while suspended. He was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody on his warrant and issued two traffic citations for ORS.811.175 driving while suspended violation, and ORS. 806.010 Driving uninsured.
WARRANT ARREST - On January 12th, 2022 at around 9:59 PM, deputies observed a Nissan Pathfinder with no license plate on the back, pull into the Hickory Apartments located in the 300 block of Hickory Street. They initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified Cesar Junior Gutierrez Munoz, 27, as a passenger in the vehicle. Gutierrez Munoz had a Benton County Circuit Court warrant for Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle. He was subsequently taken into custody and later issued a citation to appear on his warrant.
WARRANT ARREST - On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 10:22 AM, deputies contacted ANGELIQUE MARTINEZ, 42, after deputies observed her passed out in a vehicle at the Park & Ride located at 711 Hickory Street NW in Albany. Deputies cited and released MARTINEZ for a confirmed outstanding misdemeanor warrant which she had for her arrest.
WARRANT ARREST - On Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 9:11 AM, deputies stopped an older gray Honda Accord sedan with no license plates or trip permit as it was headed southbound on Highway 99W near Robison Road. Deputies cited and released the passenger, ANDEE NEIGHBORS, 23, for a confirmed outstanding misdemeanor warrant which she had for her arrest.
FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER - On January 12, 2022, at around 11:50 pm, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Highway 99W near Milepost 79. A caller reported seeing a female walking south along Highway 99W after the crash. Deputies found an abandoned white 1999 Mazda 626, but was unable to locate the driver. Deputies issued Sherrie Filipelli, 36, a criminal citation for Failure to perform the duties of a driver when property is damaged.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Monday, January 10, 2022, at about 11:00 pm, deputies stopped a black BMW on Highway 99 near milepost 92 for driving 70 MPH in a 55 MPH zone and for failing to drive in its lane. They later arrested the driver, Edward Dayton Minter Jr., 31, for DUII and reckless driving. Minter was cited and released. Minter`s vehicle was towed from the scene when the battery died.
FELON IN POSS OF RESTRICTED WEAPON; WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, January 9, 2022, at 10:42 AM, deputies arrested RICHARD SATHER, 32, for multiple outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants while he was working around the outside of a dilapidated camper on SW Twin Oaks Circle near SE 3rd Street in Corvallis. SATHER was transported to the Lane County Jail where he was booked and lodged on one of his confirmed warrants. SATHER was also cited for the crime of Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, January 9, 2022, at 9:46 AM, deputies stopped a spray-painted black Toyota Camry wagon near NW Starker Avenue and NW 9th Street in Corvallis for multiple traffic violations. They cited and released the driver, ERIK ERIKSON, 55, on a confirmed misdemeanor warrant which he had for his arrest. ERIKSON was also cited for Driving While Suspended (Violation) and Driving Uninsured.
DUII - On January 7th, 2022 at around 9:12 PM, deputies were driving southbound on SW 4th Street and observed a white Ford Ranger make a lane change without signaling. The driver, Evan Harmon, 29, was determined to be impaired and subsequently arrested for DUII. At the Benton County Sheriff’s Office he provided two breath samples. He was issued a criminal citation for ORS.813.010 DUII.
DWS MIS; WARRANT ARREST - On January 6th, 2022 at around 11:44 PM, deputies made a traffic stop on a 2014 Jeep Patriot bearing Oregon license plate near HWY99 W and Airlie Rd. The driver, Melony Shockman had a Benton County Circuit Court warrant for driving while suspended, a Linn County Justice Court warrant for PV- Fail to appear II, and two Umatilla County Circuit Court warrants for probation violations. She was issued criminal citations on her warrants in lieu of custody and additionally issued another criminal citation for DWS-Misdemeanor.
SEARCH AND RESCUE - On December 29, 2021, at approximately 10:15 PM, deputies were dispatched to Marys Peak Rd. Dispatch had received a 911 transfer call from Florence 911 of people stuck in the snow on Mary`s Peak. Dispatch initially showed the 911 call coming from the area of the summit of Marys Peak. Deputies checked the parking lot near the summit of Marys Peak and were unable to locate them. They then requested assistance from Corvallis Mountain Rescue due to the weather conditions near the summit of Marys Peak. While en route, dispatch received updated coordinates, which placed the people on the 3000 Rd about a mile from Marys Peak Rd. Corvallis Mountain Rescue located two people in their vehicle stuck in the snow on the 3000 Rd about a mile from Marys Peak Rd. They assisted the couple in walking back to Marys Peak Rd, where deputies gave them a ride back to Corvallis.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Monday, January 10, 2022, at 9:51 AM, a resident in the 4900 block of NW Springhill Drive in Albany reported she has been seeing a male in a silver, mid-size pickup truck parked in the area in the mornings. She said the male told her he is on "DEER PATROL" and she suspects he has a rifle of some kind but has never actually seen him with one. She had not witnessed the male shoot any deer or trespass on anyone`s property but just wanted to bring the matter to the attention of law enforcement in case he did
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Monday, January 10, 2022, at about 1:10 am, deputies stopped a silver 2005 Toyota Camry on NW 3rd Street near NW Jackson Avenue for having no license plate light and expired registration stickers. They later arrested the driver, Mason Kristian Storm Wooldridge, 22, for DUII and reckless driving. Wooldridge was cited and released
DOG BITE - On January 9, 2022, at about 5:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of NW 53rd St for a dog bite. A resident reported his 2-year-old son was bitten by their dog. The dog was surrendered to Heartland Humane Society.
VEHICLE RECOVERED FOR OTHER AGENCY - On Sunday, January 9, 2022, at about 6:00 pm, deputies received a message from someone on Facebook that there was a vehicle submerged in the water at the Benton County Irish Bend Park. Deputies responded to the park and located the vehicle. Dispatch advised that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Lane County, Junction City area.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, January 9, 2022, at 3:27 PM, deputies arrested NOELLE WHITTIER, 28, for multiple outstanding felony warrants while she was near a dilapidated truck camper on SW Twin Oaks Circle near SE 3rd Street in Corvallis. WHITTIER was transported to the Benton County Jail where she was booked and lodged on her confirmed warrants.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On January 9, 2022, at about 4:58 pm, deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle non-injury traffic crash at Hwy 20 and Independence. Vehicle 1 was traveling westbound on Hwy 20. Vehicle 2 was southbound on Independence and attempted to turn east (left) onto HWY 20 after stopping at the stop sign. A vehicle in the westbound right turn lane of HWY 20 blocked the view of Vehicle 1 from Vehicle 2. The driver of vehicle 2 attempted to turn left and crashed into the rear passenger door of vehicle 1. It was determined the driver of vehicle 2 failed to yield to the right of way of vehicle 1. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven away from the scene.
INTERFERE W/ PEACE OFFICER; WARRANT ARREST - On January 8, 2022, at 11:51 PM, deputies observed a tent on fire under the Highway 34 Bypass, between 3rd and 4th Street in Corvallis. While they were extinguishing the fire, Wendelyn Stephens, 25, and Garrett Gaspino, 29, fled the scene. Garspino was later located and arrested on multiple warrants, and for Interfering with a Peace Officer. Garspino was lodged at the Benton County Jail on an Oregon State Parole Board warrant. Stephens was cited and released on a Linn County Justice Court warrant
WARRANT ARREST - On January 8, 2022, at approximately 11:10 PM, deputies observed a motorcycle northbound on Highland at Lester Ave with no working taillight. Jared PURDY, 29, had a confirmed Ada Co (Idaho) warrant for Larceny-Grand Theft. Deputies arrested PURDY and transported him to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - On January 8, 2022, around 3:40 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of Raintree Drive, Corvallis, for a suspicious vehicle. The caller reported a vehicle was left near the driveway to his house and appeared to have been in a crash or broken into. The vehicle was towed off the scene as a roadway hazard.
WARRANT ARREST - On January 8, 2022, around 9:45 AM, deputies went to the 1100 block of 31st Street, Corvallis, to serve a restraining order to Kyle Logan Frank Leber, 25. Leber had a confirmed warrant out of Corvallis Municipal Court. Deputies gave Leber his copy of the restraining order and issued him a citation for his warrant.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, January 8, 2022, at about 2:40 am, deputies stopped a red 1995 Geo Prism on Highway 99W near Walnut Boulevard for failing to obey a traffic control device. They later arrested the driver, Tarah Lyn Hyre, 33, on warrants out of the Linn County Circuit Court and Albany Municipal Court. Hyre was cited and released.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Friday, January 7, 2022, at about 11:45 pm, deputies stopped a silver Toyota Prius on 9th Street near Buchanan Avenue for failing to drive in lane. They later arrested the driver, Olivia Marie Francis, 18, of Troutdale, for DUII. Francis was cited and released.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, January 7, 2022, at about 10:55 pm, deputies stopped a silver Mercury sedan for making an un-signaled turn onto 9th Street near Buchanan Avenue. They later arrested the driver, Kelly Louise Rydz, 47, on a warrant out of the Lebanon Municipal Court. Rydz was cited and released.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE - On January 7, 2022, at around 7:28 pm, deputies were dispatched to a UEMV near the intersection of Highway 99W and Camp Adair Road. A male reported that someone had broken into his black 1997 Honda Accord between 9:00 pm on January 6 and 6:00 pm on January 7 while it was broken down and awaiting a tow. He reported the stereo system, speaker, and amp were stolen and valued the stereo system at around $700. No current suspects.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3 - On January 7, 2022, deputies spoke with a resident regarding damage to her mailbox in the 30100 block of Beaver Creek Rd, Corvallis. An unknown person(s) knocked her mailbox off its post and left it in the roadway.
WARRANT ARREST - On January 7, 2022, at 5:22 AM, deputies contacted and Andrea Dorman, 36, on Highway 99W near Airport Avenue in Corvallis, after deputies observed her going through recycling containers along the roadway for cans. Dorman had a confirmed cite and release warrant out of Philomath Municipal Court for Contempt of Court, Bail $5,000. Dorman was cited on the warrant and she was advised that taking cans out of a recycling container was a theft.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On January 7, 2022, at 3:36 AM, deputies were dispatched to the 25700 block of Cherry Creek Road in Monroe for an unknown problem. Upon arrival the resident told deputies a male pulled into her driveway in a gold Nissan Xtera and broke her rear vehicle window out with a stick. She said he took a purse containing marijuana, but returned the purse to her when she confronted him. She said he left eastbound towards Monroe prior to deputy arrival.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On January 9, 2022, around 8:30 AM, deputies were dispatched to Tampico Road, near milepost 3, Corvallis for a single vehicle motor vehicle crash. The caller, a passerby, stated the vehicle had flipped over onto its top. The driver said he was going a little bit too fast for the icy conditions. He said he already called a tow truck and was told by his insurance company one was on the way. Deputies set out flares to mark the crash and left him with a friend of his who arrived to pick him up.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On January 6, 2022, at about 1:26 p.m., deputies responded to a single-vehicle non-injury crash on NW Oak Creek Drive at about MP .5. The driver was looking down at her "aux" cord and failed to negotiate the curve. She drove straight into the ditch, crossing all lanes of travel. The vehicle was towed and she was issued a citation for DWS Violation.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On January 4, 2022, at about 5:03 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Highway 34, near milepost 32 for a single-vehicle traffic crash, without injuries. The winter storm cause power lines to be down across the roadway and a tree or stump to land in the roadway as well. ODOT and the power company were notified and roadway later cleared. A driver was traveling in his Honda eastbound on Highway 34 when he ran into and over part of the tree. There was damage to the Honda and the vehicle was towed. No injuries reported.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On January 4, 2022, around 3:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to 3rd Street, near Herbert Avenue, for a single motor vehicle crash with no injuries. The driver told deputies he was avoiding a braking UPS and turned into the ditch to avoid colliding with another vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
VEHICLE RECOVERED FOR OTHER AGENCY - On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, around 10:30 A.M., a maroon Chevy HHR was towed from the access road near Old River Road at the Bundy Bridge. The Chevy was confirmed stolen out of Lane County. No plates were on the Chevy. The Chevy was towed.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On January 4, 2021, deputies spoke with the driver of vehicle 1 after her Honda CRV was rear-ended at the intersection of NW Highway 20 and Independence Hwy. Deputies also spoke with the driver of vehicle 2,  who was driving a Dodge Charger and agreed to exchange information.
DUII - On Monday, January 3, 2022, at about 10:55 pm, deputies stopped a green 1997 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driving west on NE Conifer Boulevard near NE Powderhorn Drive for repeatedly leaving its lane. Deputies later arrested the driver, Steven Lloyd Skaggs, 48, for DUII. Skaggs was cited and released.
BOAT DUII - On Sunday, January 2, 2022, at about 4:30 PM, deputies responded to a report of a male on a drift boat on the Alsea River possibly having a medical issue. Deputies arrived and arrested STEVEN BERNARD CURRAN, 57, for Boating Under the Influence of Intoxicants
WARRANT ARREST - On January 2, 2022, at around 1:48 pm, Malik Crowell, 19, was cited in the 26500 block of Shady Oak Dr. in Monroe, for a felony warrant. Malik was cited and released.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On January 2nd, 2021 at around 12:07 AM, deputies responded to NE HWY 20 and NE Conifer Blvd for a non-injury vehicle crash. Upon arrival, deputies determined vehicle 1 was driving westbound on HWY 20 negotiating a curve in the road when he lost control of his vehicle, went over the curb on the north side of the roadway striking some arborvitae trees and causing over $2500 dollars in damage to the vehicle and damage to the trees. The vehicle was towed due to damage and the owner of the trees was contacted.
BURGLARY 1 - On January 1, 2022, at approximately 1:50 AM, deputies were dispatched to the 24600 block of Williams Rd, Monroe, OR for a burglary. A resident said an UNKNOWN suspect(s) had entered her house while they were having a party in the shop. She said the UNKNOWN suspect(s) went through drawers and file cabinets but it did not appear anything was taken. She said she would let deputies know if she found anything missing or came up with a potential suspect.
WARRANT ARREST - On Thursday, December 30, 2021, deputies cited and released Danielle Cook, 29, for multiple warrants out of Benton County Circuit Court. She was provided a new court date.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On December 31, 2022, deputies were dispatched to Bellfountain Road south of Chapel Drive for an injury traffic crash. Driver 1 was driving a 2006 Jeep Liberty north and lost control on a patch of ice. She swerved into a ditch causing significant damage to the driver`s side, front, and rear of the Jeep. She reported a possible concussion and was going to go to urgent care later for a check-up. The Jeep was towed to a shop near Philomath. The Jeep had been moved off the roadway prior to our deputy arrival by a log truck.
ASSAULT 2; VIOL RESTRAINING ORDER; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2; THEFT 2 - On 12/30/2021 at approximately 12:56 am, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 34300 block of Wren Rd. Upon arrival, they learned Liza Gonzalez, 33, had assaulted a man with a frying pan, stolen his cell phone and left the area. Gonzalez was located and arrested for Assault II, Theft II, Criminal Trespass II, and Violation of a no-contact order. Gonzalez was lodged in the Benton County Jail.
DUII - On December 30, 2021, at around 1:10 AM, deputies responded to a trespass in progress in the 4100 block of SW West Hills Road in Corvallis. They determined Megan Moss, 39, of Newport, was trespassing and drove to the location intoxicated. She was subsequently arrested for DUII and transported to the Benton County Sheriff`s Office where she provided two breath samples. She was issued a criminal citation to appear for DUII and released to a sober friend.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On December 26, 2022, at about 8:00 PM, deputies were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle. They arrived and contacted the caller who informed them he had witnessed a vehicle pull onto the property and a male get out. He had confronted the male and told him it was private property and told him to leave and he did. Deputies checked the area and did not locate the male or the vehicle.
RECKLESS DRIVING – On December 26, 2021, at approximately 3:00 AM, deputies were eastbound on Walnut Blvd near Witham Hill Dr. They followed tire tracks, which were weaving in the snow, to Highland Dr, where Collin PAUL, 18, had lost control and hit the control box for the traffic lights. They were unable to conclude PAUL was under the influence and arrested him for Reckless Driving. PAUL was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody and released. PAUL`s vehicle was later removed by a tow company.
WARRANT ARREST - On January 5, 2022, Rodney Earl Savage, 50, was issued a citation in lieu of custody for a PCS Methamphetamine Warrant in the 35100 block of Kings Valley Hwy, Philomath.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 1 - On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, around 2:45 P.M., deputies arrived in the 4600 block of SE Booneville Drive for a suspicious person. A male entered the residence requesting gas and left when told to. The male was described as a mid-‘20s to early ‘30s, 5`9", 170 pounds with dark hair and dark eyes. He was wearing a tan jacket and dark pants. The homeowner waited 30-45 minutes before calling. The male was not located.
WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at 10:58 AM, deputies located TONY STEPHENSON, 50, who had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest which Dispatch confirmed. STEPHENSON was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged on his Benton County Circuit Court warrant.
ASSAULT 4; UNLAW USE OF WEAPON; VIOL RELEASE AGREEMENT - On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at approximately 12:21 AM, deputies were dispatched and responded to the 34900 block of Wren Road, Philomath for the report of a violation of an order and an assault which had occurred. They later arrested LISA GONZALES, 33, for Violation of No Contact Release Agreement, Unlawful Use of Weapon, and Attempted Assault IV Domestic after she threw a frying pan and kitchen chef knife at the protected person in the order. Deputies transported LISA to the Benton County Jail where she was lodged on the above charges.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On December 31, 2021, at around 7:05 pm, deputies were dispatched to the Golf Club of America for a report of gas being stolen. A female reported seeing two individuals in a loud pickup truck entering and exiting a gated area containing fuel storage before leaving at a high rate of speed south on NW Springhill Dr. Deputies were unable to locate the truck or individuals. The gated fuel storage area was closed and padlocked with no signs of damage.
RECKLESS ENDANGERING; DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On, December 24, 2021, at approximately 12:00 AM, deputies stopped YASIN AL AMIN MOUSSAOUI, 24, for multiple moving violations at Hickory Street and Springhill Drive, Albany, Benton County. Deputies observed indicators of impairment and later arrested YASIN for DUII, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering. YASIN was released to a sober friend with citations in lieu of physical custody arrest.
FALSE INFO TO POLICE; UNLAW POSS OF FIREARM; WARRANT ARREST - On December 23rd, 2021 at around 10:06 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle at 19th and Applegate in Philomath for having no license plate. The driver, Thomas Charles Mann, 34, of Sweet Home, had a Sweet Home Municipal warrant for Theft III. He also had a revoked handgun license. Mann had a concealed S&W .380 in his waistband. He was cited on his warrant and for Unlawful Possession of a firearm. There were 4 passengers. Two gave deputies fake names but were identified as Ricky Nelson, 21, of Lebanon, who had a PV warrant for Burglary 1, and an additional warrant for Identity theft, and Somer Renay Berry, 40, of Brownsville, who had felony parole warrant for PCS meth, a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for DUII, and a Lebanon warrant for Theft II. An additional female passenger was identified as Jenipher Nicole Larsen, 32, of Lebanon, who had a statewide felony warrant for FTA Theft II, with an additional bench warrant on file. She also had an Albany Municipal court warrant for Contempt of court. Deputies observed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle which was searched on consent. They located a violation amount of methamphetamine and various items of drug paraphernalia. An additional passenger was cited for less than 2 grams of methamphetamine. Deputies seized the firearm which was later entered into evidence. Berry was transported to Linn County Jail. All others were cited and released.
WARRANT ARREST - On January 3, 2022, Jeffrey Pearce, 44, turned himself into the Benton County Jail on warrants for a Traffic Offense. Pearce signed a release agreement and was released from the jail.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On January 2, 2022 at about 8:06 pm, I was dispatched to a single-vehicle traffic crash on Highland near Crescent Valley. A driver was traveling northbound on Highland Dr when he attempted to turn left onto Crescent Valley. He missed the intersection and ended up dropping the front two tires off the roadway into the west shoulder. A tow company responded to the scene and pulled the vehicle back onto the road. The vehicle was not damaged and was driven from the scene.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 12/31/2021 at approximately 5:34 am, deputies responded to a crash on HWY 99W near milepost 100. The crash was due to heavy icing on the Long Tom River bridge, just south of Monroe. There were no injuries reported; however, the bridge was damaged
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING; ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On December 22, 2021, at about 6:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 6100 block of NW Mountain View Drive for a vehicle that drove off the roadway and crashed onto private property. The suspect, identified as FOREST HOL, 27, caused about $2000 to the owner’s property and crashed his Mazda SUV. Deputies arrested HOL for DUII (alcohol), Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief II, and later cited him for the violations of Failure to Drive Within Lane, and Failure to Carry Proof of Insurance. HOL`s vehicle was towed.
WARRANT ARREST - On January 3, 2021, at about 6:00 p.m., deputies arrested ALAURA BALDWIN, 31, in the 1800 block of NW Forest green Avenue, Corvallis, on the following warrants: Benton County Circuit Court for Theft 2 x 2, FTA Criminal Citation; Lebanon Municipal Court for Probation Violation, False Information to Police; and Albany Municipal Court for Theft 3. BALDWIN was cited and released to appear with a court date for the three separate warrants to the three different courts.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On January 3, 2022, around 9:30 AM, deputies were dispatched near the intersection of Highway 99W and Lewisburg Avenue for a motor vehicle crash with no reported injuries. When they arrived they saw a male standing on the side of the road next to his vehicle, a 2003 Chevy Impala, in the ditch, submerged in about two feet of water. His vehicle was drivable.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Monday, January 3, 2022, around 6:00 A.M., deputies were dispatched to the Monroe High School for a male sleeping in front of the gym doors. Deputies arrived and located a male sleeping under a blanket. He spoke with deputies through a translation app on his phone. He did not know where he was going. He refused medical attention for a slight limp and refused a ride. He had food and was dressed appropriately. He left the school property.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On Sunday, January 3, 2022, at about 12:50 am, deputies found a blue Dodge Neon parked at Takena Landing. The plate returned to a 1998 Mercedes ML3 that was listed as "In Dismantler Stock". Deputies confirmed the Neon was not reported stolen and seized the license plates as found property. No one was with the vehicle.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, January 3, 2022, at about 1:30 am, deputies stopped a black Dodge Charger on NW 9th Street near NW Garfield Avenue for having expired registration stickers. They later arrested the passenger, Dusty Lee Risland, 34, on warrants out of Benton County Circuit Court and Albany Municipal Court. Risland was cited and released.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Sunday, January 2, 2022, at about 1:30 am, deputies stopped a red 2007 Honda Civic on Highway 20 near milepost 7 for driving over 90 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. They later arrested the driver, Samuel David Roman Martinez, 22, for DUII and reckless driving. Roman Martinez was cited and released.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Sunday, January 2, 2022, at about 1:30 am, deputies stopped a red 2007 Honda Civic on Highway 20 near milepost 7 for driving over 90 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, January 1st, 2022 at about 10:00 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Springhill Drive near Highway 20. Dispatch advised the driver, ISMAEL FRANCISCO NELSON, 39, had two outstanding Warrants, one of which was an Oregon State Parole Board Warrant. Deputies arrested NELSON and transported him to the Benton County Jail where he was later transported to the Marion County Jail.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On January 1, 2022 at about 6:48 pm, deputies were dispatched to Hwy 20 near Garland Nursery for a report of a single vehicle traffic crash. A driver was traveling westbound on Hwy 20. He reported he began to lose control of the vehicle either do to a flat tire or icy road conditions. He crossed the centerline and entered the south ditch where the vehicle struck a tree. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Saturday, January 1, 2022, at about 3:40 am, deputies saw a black BMW 325 make an unlawful turn on NW 3rd Street near NW Van Buren Avenue. They later arrested the driver, Matthew Roger Campbell, 19, for DUII and reckless driving. Campbell was cited and released.
DUII - On January 1, 2022, at 12:58 AM, deputies stopped Kai Asia Mitchell, 22, on SE Goodnight Avenue near SE Summerfield Drive in Corvallis, after they observed her driving on two flat tires, in the oncoming lane of travel. They later arrested Mitchell for DUII, determining she was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, January 1, 2022, at about 12:05 am, deputies stopped a red Mazda sedan for having expired registration stickers. They later arrested the driver, Rachelle Joann Rictor, 30, on multiple warrants out of Marion and Linn County Circuit Courts. Rictor was cited and released.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Friday, December 31, 2021, at about 5:50 am, deputies were dispatched to Highway 20 near Highway 180 for a vehicle crash. Vehicle 1 was driving east on Highway 20 and attempted to make a U-turn in an ODOT de-icing truck. The driver failed to see Vehicle 2 attempting to pass as he turned. Vehicle 2 collided with the ODOT truck. There were no injuries.
WARRANT ARREST - On December 30, 2021 at around 11:48, deputies observed a white 1994 Honda Accord turn into a parking lot in the 300 block of Hickory Street NW, Albany, Oregon. They determined the driver had a suspended license and his passenger, Cory Tharp, 27, had two warrants for his arrest. Tharp was issued citations in lieu of custody and the driver was issued a traffic citation for driving while suspended.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT 2 - On December 30, 2021, at around 5:00 pm, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 8100 block of Arboretum Rd, Corvallis. They determined Donald Savage, 67, threw a pan of food and a wet rag at another resident. He was subsequently arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Deputies transported him to Independence, Oregon to stay with a friend. He was issued a criminal citation for ORS.166.025 Disorderly Conduct in the second degree.
WARRANT ARREST - On December 30, 2021 at around 12:18 AM, deputies located Jeffrey Dwayne Tyler, 55, sitting in a white Chevy Silverado on the east side of a gas station located in the 600 block of North Albany Rd. Tyler had a warrant for his arrest out of Albany Municipal Court for Criminal Trespass II. Tyler was issued a criminal citation to appear for the warrant and released from custody.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at approximately 6:35 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of Reservoir Avenue, Milepost 1 for report of a vehicle versus deer crash. They arrived to find a vehicle had collided with a deer in the road in his 2007 Mazda 6, causing damage to the front of the vehicle. It was determined the damage was likely less than $2500 to repair. Deputies provided the driver a case number per his request for his insurance company and deputies photographed the vehicle.
FORGERY 1; IDENTITY THEFT; FELON IN POSS OF FIREARM; POSS BURGLARS TOOLS; VEHICLE RECOVERED FOR OTHER AGENCY; THEFT 3 - On December 28, 2021, at around 8:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 300 block NW 53rd St for a report of an occupied stolen vehicle that was observed by the victim`s family member. Deputies responded and detained the three occupants of a silver 2005 Saturn Ion. The Saturn was towed at the owner`s request. Later, deputies transported Perry Bradford, 39, to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and issued criminal citations for unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools, theft 3 of lost/mislaid property, forgery 1st degree, felon in possession of a weapon, and identity theft. Bradford was verbally warned about possession of drug paraphernalia.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 1 - On December 27, 2021, at around 11:39 am, deputies were dispatched to the 1000 block of SE Kiger Island Dr. in Corvallis for a suspicious vehicle. A neighbor called and said a gray-colored Subaru was parked in the driveway. Deputies arrived and found the car gone. They saw fresh footprints in the snow leading to the house. Deputies did not find anyone on the property.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Monday, December 20, 2021, at approximately 5:57 PM, deputies were dispatched to contact a resident regarding suspicious activity in the 27100 block of Old River Road, Corvallis. She said there had recently been placed a cable lock around the mailbox at the address in retribution against a male who used to live at the location. She removed the lock but wanted the incident documented for future issues.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Monday 12/27/21 Christopher Helton, 39, was released on a sanctioned crime. Helton had a warrant for making a false report. Due to overcrowding Helton would not be held. Christopher Helton signed a release agreement with his new court date and time.
ACCIDENT OTHER NO INJ - On December 28, 2021, deputies responded to a non-injury crash at NW Mountain View Drive, about 100 yards from NW Lewisburg Avenue. The vehicle slid into the roadside ditch and was flipped on the passenger side.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On Sunday, December 26, 2021, at 12:48 PM, deputies responded to Adair County Park at 7295 NE Arnold Avenue in Adair Village for vandalism in progress. Multiple vehicles were reported to be doing "COOKIES" on the snow-covered grass, causing significant damage. Most of the responsible vehicles had left by the time deputies arrived, but they were able to contact one of the few, which remained behind. Deputies cited the juvenile male driver of an involved Toyota 4Runner for Criminal Mischief II.
VIOL COURT STALKING PROTECT ORDER - On December 26, 2021, around 11:45 AM, deputies were dispatched to the 28900 block of Tampico Road, Corvallis, for a violation of a stalking order. Brian Oliver Berkey, 44, of Salem, was at the residence violating the stalking order in place. Deputies arrested Berkey for violating the stalking order and transported him to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On December 25, 2021, at around 6:59 pm, deputies responded to HWY 20, MP36 for a report of a non-injury crash. Upon arrival, they determined a Mazda MZ3 lost control and slid off the roadway. The vehicle was towed back onto the roadway. The driver was issued a citation for ORS.806.010 driving uninsured and ORS.807.010 no valid driver`s license.
UUV; POSS METH (MISD - 2 GRAMS OR MORE) - On 12/23/2021 at approximately 1:48 am, deputies located a stolen vehicle on 9th Street in Corvallis. The two people associated with the vehicle were Staci Denney, 36, of Winston, and Douglas Palmer, 35, of Riddle. After the stolen vehicle investigation was complete, they conducted a controlled substance investigation. Denney was issued a citation in lieu of custody for Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle. Palmer was issued a citation in lieu of custody for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.
THEFT 1; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Thursday, December 23, 2021, at approximately 3:40 PM, deputies took a report of a stolen horse trailer from a residence in the 37500 block of Kings Valley Highway, Philomath sometime between December 22, 2021 at 7:00 PM and December 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM. The trailer is a grey, double-axle horse trailer. There are no suspects at this time.
MAIL THEFT - On December 23, 2021, deputies responded to mail theft call in the 25100 block of Orchard Tract Road. The resident said she found a box knife and opened mail dumped on the edge of her property; the mail is addressed to various addresses.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On December 22, 2021, Nicholas Aaron Adam reported to the BCJ lobby for a warrant. A warrant was located for Corvallis Muni court, violent conduct, bail $5000. Adam was released with a new court date
THEFT 3 FROM VEHICLE; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11:29 AM, a resident in the 800 block of Aldrich Way in Monroe reported someone entered two of her family`s unlocked vehicles while they were parked in their driveway at approximately 2:00 AM that morning. The only thing missing was a bag of Funyuns. The suspect is an unknown male possibly associated with a small black or dark-colored car.
FELON IN POSS OF RESTRICTED WEAPON; WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, December 19, 2021,, at 11:18 AM, deputies contacted a couple of suspicious vehicles in a parking lot in the 1500 block of SW 53rd Street in Corvallis. JACOB MYERS, 26, was cited and released on a confirmed, outstanding misdemeanor warrant. ALEXANDER MAYBEE, 26, was arrested for multiple confirmed, outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants. MAYBEE was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
THEFT 1 - On December 18, 2021, at around 9 am, deputies met a female in the 6300 block of William R Carr Street in Adair Village. She loaded up a U-Haul trailer the night before with belongings to move to Pennsylvania. She did not lock the trailer. When she woke up and checked the trailer at 8 am she found the door open and some items stolen. No suspect information at this time.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 3:58 PM, deputies stopped a white Cadillac Escalade SUV near SW Meadow Flower Drive and SW Country Club Drive in Corvallis. TONIE ATHILL, 33, was interviewed about a separate matter and also cited and released for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant which she had for her arrest.
THEFT 3; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3 VANDALISM - On December 15, 2021, at around 4:13 PM, a resident reported a theft of a package. He said a UPS delivery man delivered a package to his house at 10:39 on 12/10/21 and at 10:43 a kid entered his property and stole the package, damaged it, and discarded it on his lawn in a destroyed state. Deputies later identified the juvenile and issued him a criminal citation into the Benton County Juvenile Department for ORS.164.043 Theft III, and ORS.164.345 Criminal Mischief III.
THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE - On December 8, 2021, at about 1:00 AM, deputies received a report in the 4400 block of NE Highway 20, of a stolen catalytic convertor. She heard a loud and un-muffled rattling from beneath her car and reported to her insurance company. She reported no cameras or witnesses were to be obtained. She also stated she believed the loss to be about $2000 in total. Deputies responded to observe the damaged muffler beneath the vehicle.
WARRANT ARREST - On December 17, 2021, deputies responded to the 35100 block of Kings Valley Highway, Philomath for a death investigation. While at the location Rodney Earl Savage, 50, was issued a citation for a PCS Meth warrant.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday December 6, 2021 at about 12:50 AM, deputies stopped a car on Hwy 99W/MP 82, Corvallis. The driver, EZEQUIEL GOMEZ CANTORAN, 27, had an outstanding Felony Warrant out of Marion County for Probation Violation. GOMEZ CANTORAN was transported to the jail, then to his residence where he was given a citation and a release agreement.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On December 26, 2021, at 11:25 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 5100 block of NE Highway 99 W in Corvallis for a possible mail theft. Upon arrival, they observed about 20 mailboxes left open. Some mailboxes had mail inside them still and other mailboxes were empty. It was unknown if any mail was actually taken. Deputies closed all the mailboxes.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On December 26, 2021, at about 4:08 pm, deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle traffic crash on Springhill near Beaumont Ln. A driver was westbound on Springhill when he lost control of his vehicle in a left-hand curve due to winter conditions. His vehicle entered the south ditch where it flipped over and came to rest on its roof. His vehicle was towed from the scene.
PERSON < 21 POSSESSING/PURCHASING MARIJUANA - Deputies stopped Logan James Townsend, 19, of Monmouth, on HWY 20 near MP 4 for speeding. A search of his vehicle revealed about 1 oz of marijuana. He was issued a citation for speeding and MIP marijuana.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Saturday, December 25, 2021, at about 4:00 am, deputies saw a black 2014 Ford Fiesta driving west on NW Gibson Hill Road near NW North Albany Road. As they were following the Fiesta, they saw it make several un-signaled turns and drive at high speed through a residential neighborhood. Deputies later arrested the driver, Cory Steven Anderson, 33, for DUII and Reckless Driving. Anderson was cited and left in the custody of Benton County Jail Deputies.
DUII - On December 25, 2021, at 1:43 AM, deputies stopped Marley Wackerly, 24, on NW Tyler Avenue near NW Kings Boulevard in Corvallis for speeding and expired registration. They later arrested Wackerly for DUII, after they determined she was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
DUII - On Saturday, December 25, 2021, at about 1:10 am, deputies saw a black 2014 Ford Fiesta driving north on NW North Albany Road near NW Quarry Road at 54 MPH in a 40 MPH zone. They later arrested the driver, Cory Steven Anderson, 33, for DUII. Anderson was cited and released into the custody of a family member.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On December 24, 2021, a male called the Sheriff`s Office by telephone. He had found a cash register that had been pried open in a creek on his property. He believed the cash register was in the creek for 2-3 weeks. The metal box had been pried open. He left the box on the curb near his property. Deputies picked up the box and plastic money drawer. The items were placed into evidence at the Law Enforcement Center.
ELUDE FOOT - On December 24, 2021, deputies stopped Ryan SEIB, 25, of Keizer, for Failure to Use Headlights. SEIB ran from the stop when they asked him about his driver`s license. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate SEIB. Ryan SEIB ultimately returned to the scene and surrendered. SEIB told deputies he ran because he did not have a valid driver`s license. Deputies arrested Ryan SEIB for Elude on Foot. SEIB was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody.
WARRANT ARREST – On December 23, 2021, at around 9:23 PM, deputies made a traffic stop on a red 2005 Dodge Caravan near HWY 20 and HWY 223 for suspected DUII. They contacted the driver, Michael Gomez, 40, and determined he was not impaired, however his driver’s license was suspended and he had a Philomath Municipal Court warrant for Assault IV. Gomez was issued a citation in lieu of custody per the Benton County Jail`s Request.
VIOL RELEASE AGREEMENT – On December 23, 2021, deputies arrested LISA YVETTE GONZALES, 33, for Violation of a confirmed release agreement after a 911 hang up/accidental dial in the 34900 block of Wren Road in Philomath. She was lodged at the Benton County Jail.
DWS FEL - On Wednesday, December 22, 2021, around 5:45 A.M., deputies arrested Travis Teague, 30, for Driving While Suspended Felony on Grandview Drive near milepost 1. Deputies issued him a criminal citation and a family member picked him up.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On December 21, 2021, at around 8:37 pm, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a white 2017 Ford F150 for almost hitting their patrol vehicle during a lane change. They later arrested Joshua Gonzales, 43, for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants. Gonzales was arrested and later issued criminal citations for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving and a citation for Failure to Use Signal for Lane Change.
WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 2:54 PM, deputies went to the railroad tracks south of NE Four Acre Place & NE Circle Boulevard in Corvallis to attempt to locate a wanted individual named ERIK DEVANEY, 45. They successfully located and arrested DEVANEY for his multiple outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants. The also located and arrested another individual named BRITTAIN DONALDSON, 31, who had multiple outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants. DEVANEY was booked and lodged at the Benton County Jail. DONALDSON was cited and released in lieu of custody due to overcrowding at the request of Jail Deputies.
THEFT 3 FROM VEHICLE - On December 21, 2021, around 10:30 AM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a male by phone who reported the front license plate to his 1993 Ford Ranger had been stolen from the 600 block of SW 3rd Street, in downtown Corvallis. He originally reported it to Corvallis Police but was told the crime occurred in Benton County. Deputies had dispatch enter the license plate as stolen. Deputies advised him to remove the license plate he still had off of his vehicle and get a temporary permit from the DMV.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at about 5:00 am, deputies were dispatched to investigate a white Saab sedan that had been abandoned on Fern Road near Chapel Drive. Deputies later arrested the driver, Nicholas John Ragan, 31, for DUII and Reckless Driving. The Saab was towed to a storage lot in Corvallis. Ragan was cited and released.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On December 20, 2021, around 2:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to Highway 99W near Elliott Circle, Corvallis, for a motor vehicle crash with unknown injuries. The caller reported the vehicle had crashed into the flooded ditch. The driver was not injured. A tow company towed the vehicle off the scene, and deputies took the driver to her residence in the 28400 block of Robinson Road, Monmouth.
FORGERY 1 - On December 20, 2021, deputies met a female at the Law Enforcement Center in Corvallis who reported on 12/18/21 an unknown person took $4000.00 from her Oregon State Credit Union (OSCU) Checking account. The only information she had was a printout from OSCU showing 4 separate withdrawals of $1000 each from a "COINBASE" ATM. She had no information about who may have taken the money. OSCU may do some more investigating at their office. Deputies gave her a BCSO case number for the report.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, December 20, 2021, at 1:14 PM, deputies contacted and arrested RONALD HUSSEY, 40, for an outstanding felony warrant while he was with another male. HUSSEY was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked on his confirmed warrant before being subsequently released due to overcrowding.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Monday, December 20, 2021, around 6:20 A.M., a driver crashed her Nissan Pathfinder on Highway 99 near milepost 103 after she hit high water. She was not injured and her vehicle was towed.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On December 19, 2021, at about 7:30 pm, deputies spoke with a resident by phone who reported an unknown suspect cut Christmas lights that were attached to her fence along Waneta Dr. She stated this was the fourth time it occurred this season. The 30-foot strand of lights was valued at $30.
DUII - On December 19, 2021, around 6:25 PM, deputies were parked in the area of 3rd Street and Lily Ave, Corvallis, when they observed a red four-door car drive past without any taillights on. They ultimately arrested the driver Bryce Lawrence Nelson, 30, for DUII. Deputies transported Nelson to his residence in the 4000 block of Witham Hill Drive.
THEFT 1; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On December 18, 2021, around 9:00 AM, deputies were dispatched to the Benton County Fairgrounds at 110 53rd Street, Corvallis, at the Bald Hill Trailhead, for a theft from a vehicle. The caller reported his vehicle had been broken into and a variety of items were stolen.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On December 17, 2021, at around 5:43 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of 5th Street and Main Street, Monroe, for a report of a vehicle that had struck a pedestrian. Upon arrival, deputies determined a vehicle struck a pedestrian as he was crossing Main Street in the crosswalk. The pedestrian was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
BURGLARY 2 - On December 16, 2021, deputies responded to a burglary in the 25500 block of Cemetery Road, Monroe. The resident had his medication safe box stolen out of his travel trailer. The door to the travel trailer was unlocked.
WARRANT ARREST - On 12/15/2021 at approximately 6:07 am, deputies contacted two adults on Old River Road near Settlers Lane. The male was identified as Kristopher Freed, 83, of Eugene. Freed had an active Felony Warrant. Freed was taken into custody and transported to the Lane County Jail where he was lodged.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - Mathew McGowan, 26, was ran for wants prior to release from the Benton County Jail. Deputies learned he had an Albany Muni Court warrant for Criminal mischief II. Albany issued a new court date and he was released.
DUII; FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER; RECKLESS DRIVING - On December 8, 2021, at approximately 8:50 PM, deputies were dispatched to a hit and run crash on Highway 20 near Independence Hwy. Deputies located the suspect, John RIVAS, 26, driving southbound on Highway 99W and stopped him hear Elks Dr. RIVAS ultimately admitted to hitting the other vehicle. RIVAS admitted to drinking two Coronas and smoking marijuana.
THEFT 2; COMPUTER CRIME - On Monday, December 20, 2021, at 3:24 PM, a resident in the 33800 block of Mary`s River Estates Road in Philomath reported he had been the victim of fraud. His employer had given him a prepaid debit card with $7,000 loaded on it as part of an employee bonus program where the funds were supposed to be used for vacations and travel. He and his wife had spent all of the money except for $502.22. When he recently checked his balance he discovered someone had stolen the remaining funds sometime between Thursday, November 4 and now. He was provided with a case number so he could obtain a law enforcement report documenting the fraudulent activity which the card servicer required in order to issue him a refund.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Monday, December 20, 2021, around 1:00 P.M., deputies went to a trespass complaint on Highway 180 near Highway 20. A couple is living in a broken-down motorhome on Starker Property. They have no way to move the motorhome. Corvallis Housing First just got them into a hotel in Corvallis.
WARRANT ARREST - On December 18, 2021, at around 1:04 am, deputies initiated a citizen contact in the 300 block of NW Hickory St, Albany. A male identified himself as Cesar Gutierrez-Munoz. Dispatch informed Gutierrez-Munoz, 27, had a warrant out of Benton County Circuit Court for Failure to Appear-Trespassing. Gutierrez-Munoz was issued a criminal citation for the warrant.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On December 16, 2021, deputies responded to a suspicious person in the 700 block of SW Lookout Drive. Deputies spoke with a resident who told them someone opened her mailbox and closed it while she was driving by.
IDENTITY THEFT; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2; WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, December 5, 2021, at 12:34 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area near 600 NW Lewisburg Avenue in Corvallis for a trespass. The property owner reported she encountered a female who entered both her fenced pasture and her neighbors` yard to the north. Deputies located the female a short distance away and arrested her for trespassing after she refused to identify herself. The female eventually admitted her name was LEOLA ELLINGSEN, 32, and it was determined she had multiple outstanding misdemeanor warrants for her arrest. ELLINGSEN was transported to the Law Enforcement Center where she was cited and released on her warrants as well as for the new crimes of Trespass II and Identity Theft.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, December 5, 2021, at 11:50 AM, deputies contacted a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of 2001 NW Circle Boulevard in Corvallis. Deputies arrested one of the occupants, ROBERT MURRAY, 26, for a confirmed, outstanding felony warrant. MURRAY was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked on his warrant before being subsequently released.
IDENTITY THEFT; FELON IN POSS OF RESTRICTED WEAPON; POSS HEROIN (MISD - 1 GRAM OR MORE); POSS BURGLARS TOOLS; WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, November 29, 2021, at 1:34 PM, deputies stopped a silver Nissan Sentra sedan on W 2nd Avenue near SE Lyon Street in Albany for a traffic violation after also recognizing the passenger as a wanted male named JACOB MYERS. The driver, MEGAN STRIPLIN, 24, was cited for Driving While Suspended (Violation), Driving Uninsured, and Fail to Renew Vehicle Registration. STRIPLIN was also cited and released for multiple outstanding misdemeanor warrants. JACOB MYERS, 26, was cited and released for his outstanding misdemeanor warrant. MYERS was also cited for the new crimes of PCS Heroin (Misdemeanor), Possession of Burglary Tools, Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon (X3), and Identity Theft (X7).
WARRANT ARREST - On December 19, 2021, around 2:30 PM, deputies were on patrol in a parking lot in the 500 block of Circle Boulevard, Corvallis. Deputies arrested James Robert Rosenberry, 26, for multiple warrants for his arrest. Rosenberry was cited and released for his warrants out of Benton County, for Forgery 2 and Disorderly Conduct 2.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On December 19, 2021, around 8:20 AM, deputies were dispatched to 53rd Street, Corvallis, underneath the train trestle, for a motor vehicle crash. Deputy Sparks was in the area, and observed a vehicle go around the "Road Closed," and, "High water," signs and accelerate to drive through the high water on the road. The vehicle became stuck in the high water and was not able to drive out. Deputies cited the driver for careless driving. A tow company towed the vehicle off the scene.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Nov. 30, 2021, at approximately 7:43 am, deputies were preparing a file for an adult in custody HANEY, Lonnie, 33, for their transportation to Jackson Co. Jail via NW Shuttle. Deputies learned Haney had an active warrant issued by Lane Co. Circuit Court for FTA - Dis Con II, Bail $20,000. A hold was placed and HANEY was transported to Jackson Co. Jail.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On December 18, 2021, at about 6:44 pm, deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on HWY 99w near MP 102. The vehicle was unoccupied, registered to a man out of Eugene. The vehicle was southbound on HWY 99 when it failed to negotiate a slight left-hand curve and entered the west ditch. The vehicle struck several small trees in the ditch and sustained minor damage. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
WARRANT ARREST - On December 18, 2021, at 12:09 AM, deputies stopped a vehicle on NW Buchanan Avenue near NW 13th Street in Corvallis for Improper Signal. The front seat passenger, Casey Lanphear, 33, had a confirmed cite and release warrant out of Albany Municipal Court for Theft III, Bail $00. Lanphear was issued a new court date and released.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On December 17, 2021, at about 9:05 pm, deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic crash on Ryals Ave at Berg Dr. Driver 1 was traveling eastbound on NW Rayls Ave at about 45 mph. Driver 2 was northbound on SE Berg Dr approaching NW Ryals Ave. Driver 2 stopped for the stop sign but failed to yield to the right of way of Driver 1. Driver 2 attempted to turn left (westbound) onto NW Ryals Ave and collided with Driver 1 in the intersection. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to damages.
WARRANT ARREST - On December 17, 2021, at 2:24 AM, deputies stopped Shane Morris, 58, of Salem, on Highway 99W near Circle Boulevard in Corvallis for making an un-signaled Lane Change, and Improper Left Turn. Morris had two State-Wide Felony Warrants for his arrest out of Marion County. Tiffany Dahlstrom, 44, of Albany, who was a passenger in the vehicle had a confirmed cite and release warrant. The Benton County Jail was closed so deputies transported Morris to the Marion County Jail where he was lodged on the warrants.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Friday, December 17, 2021, at about 2:20 am, deputies saw a blue Subaru WRX driving north on NW Kings Boulevard near NW Tyler Avenue. As they were following the Subaru it crossed the fog line on the east side of the road. Deputies later arrested the driver, Miss Krista Jean Malloy, 24, for DUII and Reckless Driving. Malloy was cited and released.
WARRANT ARREST - On December 16, 2021, at 11:30 PM, deputies contacted Nicholas Hochstatter, 43, in the 1700 block of NE Four Acre Place in Corvallis. Hochstatter had a confirmed cite and release warrant out of Albany Municipal Court for Criminal Trespass II, Bail $00. Hochstatter was issued a new court date and released.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Thursday, December 16, 2021, at about 3:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to contact a resident regarding trespassing on her property in the 25100 block of Orchard Tract Road. There is a long history between the two neighbors not getting along. One of the juveniles went on to the property to get his cat. He agreed to not go on the property in the future.
FRAUDULENT USE CREDIT CARD - On Thursday, December 16, 2021, at about 10:21 am, deputies were dispatched to contact a resident regarding a fraudulent charge on his credit card. He stated someone charged $950.00 on his MasterCard. He had already contacted his bank and they are conducting the investigation. He needed a case number for the bank and his records. Deputies advised him to watch his credit report as well as other credit cards for suspicious activity.
FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER - On December 15, 2021, at around 5:25 pm, deputies were dispatched to a hit and run incident at the intersection of NW 53rd St and NW Oak Creek Drive. Driver 1 reported that a couple of hours earlier he had been involved in a motor vehicle crash. He told deputies the other driver provided a phone number and then left. Deputies later contacted Driver 2 at his residence. Deputies facilitated the exchange of information with both parties.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at approximately 6:06 PM, deputies arrived in the area of Highway 20 and Independence Highway to find two vehicles that had been involved in a minor motor vehicle crash. Driver 1 was stopped at the stop sign facing south on Independence Highway in his 1990 Toyota pickup, went to turn left (east) onto Highway 20, and hit Driver 2, who was turning left from Highway 20 onto Independence Highway in her 2016 Mazda. This caused moderate damage to the front left quarter panel and wheel of Driver 2’s vehicle and minor damage to Driver 1’s vehicle. Both vehicles were retained by the drivers.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS - On December 15, 2021, at around 4:10 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 32800 block of Fern Rd for a reported trespass. The caller reported a former family friend had walked into her house uninvited. The trespasser was warned and given a courtesy ride to a nearby location.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, around 10:20 A.M., Driver 1, in a Ford F-250, crashed into the back of Driver 2 in a GMC Canyon, while stopped on Reservoir Road, turning into a business. Driver 1 was issued citations for Following too Close and Careless Driving.
HARASSMENT - On December 14, 2021, at around 8:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 26800 block of Alsea-Deadwood Highway to contact a male regarding telephonic harassment. He requested contact by phone and reported another male had been sending him texts and threatening violence regarding stolen tools and conflict over a co-business arrangement. Deputies contacted the man, who claimed the caller had stolen his tools. Deputies told them their conflict was civil in nature and that the suspect could be arrested for telephonic harassment if he kept sending threatening messages.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On December 14, 2021, around 7:00 AM, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 99 W and Arnold Street, Adair, for a vehicle that had slid off the roadway due to icy conditions. The driver said the vehicle slid off the road after hitting a patch of black ice. She was not injured and her vehicle was drivable. A tow company arrived a short time later and pulled her vehicle out of the ditch.
DUII - On Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at about 6:00 am, deputies saw a silver Mercedes sedan cross the fog line on the south side of Philomath Boulevard near SW 71st Street while it was traveling east toward Corvallis. They later arrested the driver, Sergio Colliton Formiga, 47, for DUII. Formiga was cited and released.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1; DUII; RECKLESS ENDANGERING; RECKLESS DRIVING; DWS MIS - On Monday, December 13, 2021, around 11:30 A.M., William Schwartzer, 34, of Jefferson, was traveling east on Highway near milepost 41 when he crossed the center line and went head on with a semi-truck hauling wood chips. Schwartzer was transported by Corvallis medics to the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center with substantial injuries. The driver of the semi-truck, was not injured. Schwartzer was later arrested for DUII, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, Criminal Mischief I, and DWS-Misdemeanor. All vehicles towed from the scene.
HARASSMENT PHONE - On December 12, 2021, at about 3:32 pm, deputies responded to the 26600 block of Gwillim Lane, Monroe Oregon for a report of a threat that come over the victim’s cell phone.
WARRANT ARREST - On December 11, 2021, at around 11:07 PM, deputies made a traffic stop on a 2003 Subaru Impreza hatchback at 2nd and Ellsworth in Albany. The driver, Ethan Glaser, 33, had two warrants for his arrest. One was an Albany Municipal Court warrant for Reckless burning - cite and release, and the other was a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for FTA -PCS meth. Glaser was cited and released on both warrants.
IMPROPER USE OF 911 - On December 11, 2021, at about 7:43 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 7100 block of NW Oak Creek Dr for an argument. A resident requested a Deputy on scene as she was having issues with Nicholas Ray Franco, 38. Neither wanted to leave for the evening and continued arguing for 15 minutes in front of deputies. Franco called 911 during their conversation and was issued a citation for improper use of 911.
UNLAW USE OF WEAPON - On Saturday, December 11, 2021, at about 11:06 am, deputies were dispatched to the 5100 block of NE Willamette Avenue for an assault. Both parties were still on scene. John Mata, 60, and David Rodriguez, 47, were cited for Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
FRAUDULENT USE CREDIT CARD - On December 10, 2021, deputies spoke with a resident by telephone. She reported someone had made a hotel reservation in her name at the Hotel Corvallis for a stay in January 2022. The front desk also told her there was a package waiting for her as well. She contacted her credit card company and no charges had been made to her account at this time.
FRAUDULENT USE CREDIT CARD - On Thursday, December 9, 2021, at approximately 4:38 PM, deputies were dispatched to contact a resident regarding fraud on her bank account. The caller’s daughter told deputies in the past week there had been a total of $89.46 of fraudulent charges. She deactivated her debit card and reported this to her bank and was requesting a case number for her bank which deputies provided.
FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER; ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Thursday, December 9, 2021, deputies contacted a female by phone who said while waiting in the pick-up line for Oak Grove Elementary School in the area near 1500 NW Oak Grove Drive, a green, unknown make or model pickup truck struck the driver`s side mirror of her white 2010 Toyota Sequoia, breaking it off. She did not get a license plate or further description of the vehicle and requested a case number for her insurance company which deputies provided her
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Monday, December 6, 2021, at 6:44 AM, driver 1 was northbound on Highway 99W in her Toyota Tercel coupe. Driver 2 pulled out from Llewellyn Road in his Mercedes GLC SUV and struck the driver`s side of Vehicle 1, pushing it into the ditch on the east side of the highway. There were no injuries reported; one vehicle was towed due to damage
WARRANT ARREST - On December 5, 2021, at around 1:18 AM, deputies located Brittany Wade in the parking lot at 333 Hickory St NW. Wade had a cite and release warrant for PV - Theft III out of Lebanon Municipal Court. Wade was issued a citation in lieu of custody.
DUII - On Sunday, December 19, 2021, at about 1:00 am, deputies saw a dark-colored Jeep Wrangler turn north onto Highway 99 from NW Lewisburg Avenue without signaling. They later arrested the driver, John Joseph Carberry, 37, for DUII. Carberry was cited and released
POSS METH; DWS MIS - On December 20, 2021, at 1:39 AM, deputies stopped Christopher Kosack, 45, on 3rd Street near Bridgeway Avenue in Corvallis for traveling 40 miles per hour in a posted 25 mile per hour speed area. Kosack was arrested for Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor. Kosack was cited for Speeding, Driving Uninsured, and Possession of Methamphetamine Violation
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On December 14, 2021, around 7:00 AM, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 99 W and Arnold Street, Adair, for a vehicle that had slid off the roadway due to icy conditions. The driver of the vehicle said her vehicle slide off the road after hitting a patch of black ice. She was not injured and her vehicle was drivable. A tow company arrived a short time later and pulled her vehicle out of the ditch.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at about 1:50 am, deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 99 at Guerber Lane. The driver was uninjured. She was slowing to make a turn onto Guerber Lane when she lost control on the icy road and slid into the drainage ditch on the west side of the highway. There was no apparent damage to her car, a silver Nissan Versa and she was uninjured. The tow company was unable to recover the Nissan at the time of the crash due to the icy roads.
WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 2:24 PM, deputies stopped a Toyota Camry sedan for multiple traffic violations near SW Philomath Boulevard & SW 53rd Street in Corvallis. The driver was cited for Driving While Suspended (Violation). The passenger, CARISA DENTON, was arrested for multiple outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants which Dispatch confirmed. DENTON was transported to the Linn County Jail where she was lodged on her warrant.
DWS MIS - On Monday, December 13, 2021, at about 11:15 am, deputies stopped the driver of a blue Honda Pilot on SW Chapman Place near SW 3rd Street for operating a motor vehicle while using a mobile electronic device and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Deputies later arrested the driver, Mark Edward Phelps, 51, for misdemeanor driving while suspended. Phelps was cited and released.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Monday, December 13, 2021, at 2:29 PM, a driver was was driving westbound on Tampico Road near Harvey Lane in his Toyota Tundra pickup. The driver, who suffers from periodic seizures as a result of previous brain surgery, lost control of his vehicle and drove off the north side of the roadway, knocking down the Harvey Lane road sign and coming to rest on top of a large log. There were no injuries reported; his pickup was removed from the log by a tow truck and was able to be driven from the scene despite the damage it sustained.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On Monday, December 13, 2021, at approximately 11:15 AM, deputies were advised by City of Monroe staff there was a suspicious male sleeping in the bathroom at Monroe City Park. Deputies located the male, who they had evaluated by medics as he was shaking and shivering due to the cold weather. Deputies then gave him a courtesy transport to the Men`s Warming Shelter in Corvallis.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Monday, December 13, 2021, at about 2:45 am, deputies were dispatched to investigate a suspicious vehicle last seen in the 26200 block of Highway 99. The homeowner told deputies she saw a white man in his twenties walking on her porch at about 2:40 am. The man then walked around her property with another unknown individual. The two people left the scene in an older white or light-gray car with a squat, flat rear end. The car left driving south on Highway 99. Deputies were unable to locate the suspect vehicle on Highway 99 between the house and the southern County line.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On November 12, 2021, around 11:15 AM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a driver about a sign she had crashed into with her vehicle the night before. She reported she crashed into a, "Keep Right," sign in Monroe during the light parade.
DUII - On Sunday, December 12, 2021, at about 1:00 am, deputies saw a red Volkswagen Passat driving south on Highway 99 near milepost 80 when it twice crossed the fog line on the west side of the highway. Deputies later arrested the driver, Matthew James Averill, 51, for DUII. Averill was cited and released.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1 VANDALISM - On December 11, 2021, at 7:51 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 34900 block of Wren Road in Philomath for a Criminal Mischief I. A man told deputies sometime between 2:00 PM, and the time he called to make the report, an unknown person or people threw cinder blocks into multiple windows around the front office building. Nothing was taken and it did not appear entry was made into the building. The estimated damage was around $2500.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Saturday, December 11, 2021, at about 3:25 pm, deputies were dispatched to 53rd Street near Touchstone Place for a report of a vehicle stuck in high water. Deputies arrived and spoke with the driver who stated she got confused and drove her Toyota Camry into high water where it stalled out. A tow company responded and recovered the Toyota.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On December 10, 2021 at about 2:58 A.M., a white Kia with a temporary registration tag went down a driveway in the 9500 block of N.W. Cardwell Hill Drive in Corvallis and backed into an open tailgate of a pickup parked there. There was no damage. The owner of the pickup wanted the driver of that vehicle warned if deputies located them, which they did not. Based on his description, the driver seemed to be lost.
DUII - On Friday, December 10, 2021, at about 12:20 am, deputies saw a blue Geo Prism cross a traffic control line while traveling south on NW 9th Street near NW Grant Avenue. They later arrested the driver, Dominic Galen Church, 20, for DUII. Church was cited and given a courtesy ride to his home.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE - On December 9, 2021, deputies responded to a UEMV complaint on HWY 99 and Blake Drive. The victim had been riding his bike in McDonald-Dunn Forest. On his way back Goodman noticed his car was broken into.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING; WARRANT ARREST - On December 9, 2021, deputies arrested LANDON WAYNE ROBINSON, 21, of Junction City, for D.U.I.I. and Reckless driving after a traffic crash on Highway 99W near McFarland Road. He also had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Albany for Theft II.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On December 7, 2021, at around 9:25 pm, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Highway 20, near Milepost 6. A driver was west on Highway 20 when he struck a line of vehicles stopped for road construction. Four vehicles were damaged in varying degrees with minor injuries. One vehicle was towed from the scene. The driver was issued a citation for Careless Driving.
WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 3:12 PM, Deputies arrested ALEXIS CARRILLO, 24, for multiple outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants near NE Circle Boulevard and NE Jack London Street in Corvallis. CARRILLO had attempted to ride away from deputies on her bicycle. CARRILLO was transported to the Benton County Jail where she was booked and lodged.
WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 11:44 AM, deputies stopped a mostly maroon-colored Honda Accord sedan for multiple traffic violations near SW 15th Street and SW Philomath Boulevard in Corvallis. Deputies cited the driver for Driving While Suspended (Violation) and Driving Uninsured. They arrested the passenger, SEQUOIA WHITE, 24, for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. WHITE was issued a criminal citation with a court date in lieu of custody for her warrant.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On December 7, 2021, around 9:30 AM, deputies were dispatched to Airport Ave, near milepost 4, for a motor vehicle crash with unknown injuries. When they arrived they contacted the driver standing outside the vehicle, a 2007 Ford Ranger. The driver sustained no injuries and the vehicle was towed.
ACCIDENT OTHER NO INJ - On Monday, December 6, 2021, around 6:40 AM, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 34 and Highway 20, Philomath, for a motor vehicle crash with no injuries. This was a three-vehicle crash involving an empty school bus. There were no reported injuries and all vehicles were drivable. The aggregate total of damages was over $2,500 and a DMV crash report was completed.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Friday, December 3, 2021, at approximately 1:40 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the RFP Market for an ATL on a possibly intoxicated driver. They later arrested Dalton Bruce Baker, 27, for DUII and Reckless Driving. Deputies cited and released Baker for the crimes.
FAIL TO APPEAR-BENCH WARRANT - On 12/1/21 TYLER, Zachary, 42, turned himself into the Benton County Jail on the following warrants: 1) Philomath Muni Warrant, DWS; 2) Lebanon Muni Warrant, Theft II; 3) Albany Muni Warrant, Resisting Arrest; and 4) Salem Muni Warrant, DWS. Tyler signed all the release agreements and was released with new court dates. Tyler was released from the jail.
DUII - On Sunday, November 28, 2021, at about 11:00 pm, deputies stopped a dark gray GMC Sierra pickup truck on SW Western Boulevard near SW 53rd Street for failure to drive in lane. They later arrested the driver, Kristen Dione Maschino, 36, for DUII. Maschino was cited and released.
WARRANT ARREST - ON 11/23/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 4:10 PM, PINION, PAUL, 56, TURNED HIMSELF INTO THE LOBBY ON A WARRANT FOR ATT ASSAULT 2. PINION POSTED BAIL AND WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
WARRANT ARREST - On December 9, 2021, deputies arrested TRISTIN JOSEPH BRINKLEY, 23, on two outstanding confirmed Benton County Circuit Court warrants after a traffic stop on "B" Avenue near 3rd Street in Corvallis.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT 2 - On Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at approximately 6:39 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of Highway 99W and Shultz Road for report of a female running into the road. Deputies arrived on scene and found the woman acting irrational and requesting to be taken to Junction City, OR. Deputies provided her with a courtesy shuttle to the Safeway in Junction City, Oregon and cleared the scene.
ABANDONED VEHICLE - On December 8, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the Monroe city park for an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle, a gold 2001 Chevy Suburban, had no plates and the steering column was removed. Deputies advised city staff of the registered owner’s contact information. The vehicle was not towed.
ACCIDENT OTHER NO INJ - On November 6, 2021 at about 7:54 pm, deputies responded to a non-injury crash at Bellfountain Road and Airport Road. They made contact with the driver of the vehicle; he was not injured or intoxicated. The vehicle involved was towed.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On December 3, 2021, a resident reported a small metal box containing bottle drop bags was damaged at the Soap Creek School House. The damage occurred on November 18 or 19, 2021. Some blue colored bags were also stolen. The value for each item is $20.00 each.
WARRANT ARREST - On December 3, 2021 at around 2:39 AM, deputies were near 30057 Camp Adair Road, assisting another deputy with a vehicle, which had attempted to avoid detection and had become high centered on a pile of gravel. A two tone 1991 Jeep Cherokee arrived to help pull the vehicle off the gravel. Deputies ran the license plate of the jeep and saw that the registered owner, Keary Rickard, 29, of Monmouth, had an outstanding warrant. Deputies located Keary Rickard in the passenger seat of the vehicle. He was cited and released on his warrant.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 12/02/2021, at approximately 10:05 pm, deputies responded to a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Independence Highway and NW Metge Avenue. The vehicle was recovered by the juvenile’s father and driven away from the scene.
THEFT 2 - On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at approximately 5:09 PM, deputies were dispatched to contact a woman regarding the theft of a 12 foot Christmas tree, ornaments, LED lights, and a tree stand from the Pastega Light Display at the Benton County Fairgrounds. She estimated the value of the items taken to be approximately $500. There is no suspect info.
DWS MIS; WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at about 12:00 am, deputies stopped a green Subaru sedan in the 500 block of NW Monroe Avenue on probable cause to believe the driver was Dustin Eugene Whinnery, 34. The Benton County Sheriff`s Office had probable cause to arrest Whinnery for violation of a restraining order, strangulation, and other crimes. Whinnery also had an Albany Municipal Court warrant for misdemeanor driving while suspended. Deputies later arrested Whinnery on his warrant and the Benton County Sheriff`s Office probable cause. Whinnery was transported to the Benton County Jail and lodged.
ACCIDENT OTHER NO INJ - On December 5, 2021, deputies responded to a non-injury crash at Airport Road and Fern Road. The two drivers exchanged information. The driver of the pickup was traveling east bound on Airport Road and the driver of the Camry was traveling northbound on Fern Road. The driver of the pickup pulled into the intersection from the stop sign as the driver of the Camry was going through the intersection. The front end of the Camry was struck by the front of the pickup as the driver pulled out. Information was exchanged.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 9:21 AM, a man reported there was a white pickup parked behind the locked gate inside Anderson County Park at 27864 Goracke Road, which was in violation of the posted county signs. Deputies determined the vehicle belonged to someone that who was allegedly hunting in the area (not in the actual park), with landowner permission. The hunter provided the correct combination code for the gate and stated that was how he gained lawful access. There was no evidence to suggest any crimes or violations were occurring.
BURGLARY 2 - On December 4, 2021 at around 9:10 am, a homeowner called the Sheriff`s Office to report a burglary. He purchased a home in the 24300 block of Queen Anne Drive in Philomath and suspected the previous owner had broken into the house to search for some of her property that she did not take after she moved out.
RESISTING ARREST; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On December 3, 2021 at around 3:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to two reports of criminal trespass at private residences south of Corvallis. In the 31400 block of Peterson Road, they contacted Paisa Savea, 29, in a driveway and arrested him for Criminal Trespass. During the arrest, Savea did not cooperate and was resisting. Savea was transported to the Benton County Jail in Corvallis and lodged.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 1; WARRANT ARREST; FALSE INFO TO POLICE OFFICER - On December 3, 2021, deputies arrested MATTHEW GARFIELD WILLIAMS, 43, and SELINA RENEE FORD-BLACKBURN, 37, for Criminal Trespass in the first degree and other charges after both fled from a vehicle to avoid law enforcement contact, trespassing on WIllamette-Pacific Railroad property at 30057 Camp Adair Road.
BURGLARY 2 - On 12/03/2021 at around 12:01 AM, deputies responded to a burglary in the 3000 block of NE Garden Ave, Corvallis, that had just occurred. A resident reported she saw a man in one of her farm buildings. The man fled the area when he saw her. There was clear sign that he had used something to try and pry a box open, however he was unsuccessful in making entry into the box and no money was taken. No further suspect info at this time.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On December 2, 2021, deputies spoke with a resident in the 2000 block of NW Rosewood Pl, Corvallis, regarding her mail being forwarded without permission to Lynn, MA. One package worth $200.00 has already been delivered. USPS inspectors were advised.
WARRANT ARREST - On December 2, 2021, Deputies responded to Highway 20, MP 38 for a vehicle blocking one of the westbound lanes. Jimmie Stephen Reed, 47, of Toledo, was cited and released on a Lebanon Municipal Warrant.
WARRANT ARREST - On December 2, 2021 at around 1:58 AM, deputies were traveling northbound on SW 3rd Street in Corvallis when they observed a Dodge caravan travel across several lanes of traffic without signaling. They made a traffic stop on the vehicle near SW 3rd Street and Madison Street. They identified a female, Antonia Coddington, 31, as a passenger of the vehicle. Coddington had a statewide felony parole board warrant and 2 additional Linn County Circuit Court warrants. She was cited and released on her Linn County Warrants and booked at the Benton County Jail on her Parole Board Warrant.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, around 6:10 A.M., a driver struck a bull cow on Bellfountain Road near Dykstra Road. There was a small amount of damage to the front passenger corner of the Ford. The driver will obtain an estimate for the damage and advise if it requires a DMV crash report. The bull was uninjured.
DUII; RESISTING ARREST; ESCAPE 3; RECKLESS DRIVING; ELUDE FOOT; DISORDERLY CONDUCT 2 - On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at about 3:00 am, deputies stopped a red Nissan Sentra for an un-signaled turn at SW B Avenue and SW 3rd Street. They later arrested the driver, Donald Ryan Garrett, 29, for DUII, Reckless Driving, Fleeing, Escape 3, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct 2. Garrett was cited and released,
FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER - On November 29, 2021 at about 4:30 pm, deputies spoke with a woman who said she parked her vehicle on Raider Way, Corvallis at about 7:30 am. When she returned at 4:00 pm, she noticed damage to the front driver side quarter panel. Deputies photographed the damages and noted what appeared to possibly be white paint transfer. She remembered seeing a silver Honda minivan parked in front of her vehicle, but was unable to locate any video of the incident.
IDENTITY THEFT - On Monday, November 29, 2021 at 11:36 AM, a resident in the 3400 block of NW Scenic Drive in Albany reported she was the victim of identity theft. She was notified by the USPS that someone had changed her mailing address. She performed a credit check and learned that they had also obtained a credit card in her name. She was able to have her mailing address changed back in just enough time to where the fraudulent credit card was delivered to her house (instead of the suspect residence) and she was able to destroy it. The case was referred to the USPS.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3 - On November 29, 2021, around 8:45 AM, deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of Highland Drive, Corvallis, for reported criminal mischief. The caller reported his garbage can was run into and destroyed the night before. There is currently no suspect information.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday November 28, 2021 at about 10:05 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle on Fern Road near milepost #1 for a traffic violation. Dispatch advised one of the passengers, ROBERT PAUL STENSLAND, 35, had an outstanding Benton County Circuit Court Warrant. STENSLAND was issued a citation and cited and released in the field.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE - On November 28, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of NE Columbia, Adair for a theft of a catalytic converter that was taken off of a 2007 Toyota Prius that was parked on the street in front of the residence.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE - On November 28, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of NE Azalea Drive, Adair for a theft of a catalytic converter that was taken off of a 2007 Toyota Prius that was parked on the street in front of the residence. This occurred sometime between 2300 hours on the 27th and 0800 hours on the 28th.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Friday, November 26, 2021 at about 11:19 am, deputies were dispatched to the area of Highway 99W and Starr Road for the report of a crash. No injuries were reported. One driver left the scene prior to full information exchange.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On November 24, 2021 at about 3:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to Hwy 34/milepost 52, Philomath, for a report of a male shooting at turkeys. The male was off the Highway and was doing so in a safe manor; there was no crime. The reporting person was just concerned because of nearby houses.
IDENTITY THEFT - On Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at approximately 2:55 P.M., deputies spoke with a resident in the 600 block of NW Shannon Drive, Albany, regarding an identity theft. She said at midnight she had located a 6700.00 dollar purchase at TV Specialty Shop in Eugene. She learned someone had attempted to purchase two 85 inch televisions, but they were not delivered because the person had not given the correct name on the cards.
ACCIDENT OTHER NO INJ - On November 30, 2021, deputies responded to a single vehicle in the ditch on NW Reservoir Rd east of West Hills Rd. The vehicle was unoccupied and cold to the touch. There were no signs of injury. A tow company removed the vehicle and towed it back to their lot.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, November 29, 2021 at 3:41 PM, deputies stopped a male as he was walking on Highway 20 near Granger Avenue for the violation of Improperly Proceeding Along a Highway. ALAN THAYER, 42, had a confirmed, outstanding felony warrant. THAYER was arrested on his warrant and transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
WARRANT ARREST - On November 27, 2021, at about 3:16 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of the 5100 block of NE Willamette Avenue for a dog at large attempting to get onto a property in the 6100 block of NE William R Carr Street and digging under his fence. This was the third time that day the dog was at large. SHERRIE FILIPELLI`s, 36, was released to FILIPELLI and deputies cited her for Benton County Ordinance or Code violation "Dog at Large" and issued her a citation in lieu of custody for FTA - Child Neglect II out of Benton County Circuit Court.
DWS MIS - On Tuesday November 23, 2021 at about 10:35 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 99W near milepost #91. They later arrested the driver, BILLY LEROY KEATING, 44, for Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor). He was cited and released in the field.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at approximately 1:40 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the area of Highway 99W near Adair Frontage Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies located a red Chevy Truck with Washington License Plate and a male later identified. The man told deputies he was picking mistletoe in a tree. As they continued to speak with him and his passenger. The man became very agitated and was yelling nonsense about how he has complaints and lawsuits going with various law enforcement personnel in King County, Washington.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at approximately 11:00 A.M., a driver was traveling North, up Mary`s Peak Road near mile post 8, when he lost control of his 2021, Toyota Rav 4 due to rain and slush on the roadway. He drove into the embankment and rolled the vehicle.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:09 AM, a white 2015 BMW 43G sedan was traveling westbound on Highway 34 at Dinner Creek Road. It had been lightly raining in the area and the asphalt was wet. The driver lost control of his car while negotiating a left hand corner too quickly for the conditions. The vehicle left the north side of the roadway and rolled down an embankment, nearly ending up on its roof in a creek. He and his three passengers were able to self-extricate. He and his passengers were transported by medics to Good Samaritan Hospital for apparent minor injuries and complaints of pain. The vehicle was towed due to damage and he was cited for Careless Driving.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 10:21 AM, a resident in the 8200 block of NW Chaparral Drive in Corvallis reported that the day prior around 2:48 PM, a black Honda Civic coupe, occupied by a male and female came onto her property, according to her neighbor. The couple allegedly took photos of her residence before leaving in their vehicle when she tried to confront them. The car was registered out of The Dalles and had no local contacts.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On Monday, November 29, 2021, at approximately 7:27 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 1000 block of NW Alder Creek, Corvallis for report of a suspicious person. A resident reported hearing someone knocking on her front door and then her back sliding glass door. Deputies responded and found no one on the property or in the area.
RESISTING ARREST; FALSE INFO TO POLICE OFFICER - On November 27, 2021, at around 12:45 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 6100 block of NE William R Carr St for a found dog. A resident reported a previously-known black shepherd mix dog was trying to dig under his backyard fence. Deputies took the dog back to its owner’s house, located in the 5100 NE Willamette Ave. A man at the residence provided the name "David Weaver", which matched with a Statewide Parole Board Warrant, and he looked similar to the DMV photo. Weaver resisted arrest. Deputies later learned Weaver’s name was David Derrick Everetts, 34. Everetts was transported to the Benton County Jail and fingerprinted. Deputies issued Everetts criminal citations for Providing False Information to a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 8:11 AM, a resident reported two of his cars were broken into while they were parked in the driveway of his residence in the 6300 block NE William R Carr Street in Adair Village sometime during the night. Between the two vehicles, he was missing $30 in cash and an OSU Football backpack containing an Apple MacBook laptop computer worth $200.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1 - On Thursday October 7, 2021, deputies responded to a report of criminal mischief that had just occurred near Fern and Powder house in Philomath. Several debris bins were intentionally hit by a passing vehicle.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1 - On Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at approximately 5:45 PM, deputies spoke with a business owner regarding the door to one of his storage units in Monroe, which had been damaged recently. The lessee of the storage unit declined to speak with deputies regarding any theft and the owner told deputies he preferred to not pursue any criminal charges against the suspect(s).
ASSAULT 4 - On Sunday, November 28, 2021, at about 9:15pm, deputies were dispatched to investigate a reported assault in the 4600 NE Elliott Circle. They later arrested Jackson Avery Gault, 18, for Assault 4. Gault was cited and released.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 3:24 PM, deputies arrested KRISTINA HASS, 32, for multiple confirmed, outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants after they located her sitting in her SUV on NW 1st Street near NW Tyler Avenue in Corvallis. HASS was transported to the Benton County Jail where she was booked and lodged.
WARRANT ARREST - On 11/28/2021 at approximately 4:20 am, deputies initiated a mere contact with an adult female in the 1200 block of Applegate Street. The female was identified as Ambyr Dawson, 35, of Sweet Home. Dawson had an active arrest warrant from Albany Police Department. Dawson was issued a citation in lieu of custody for Contempt of Court.
RESISTING ARREST; FAIL CARRY/PRESENT OP LICENSE - On Saturday, November 27, 2021, at about 11:10 pm, deputies saw a vehicle traveling north on Highway 99 near Finley Road at 73 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. They later arrested the driver, David Benjamin Adams, 45, of Junction City, for failure to present a license and resisting arrest. Adams was cited and released.
WARRANT ARREST - On November 27, 2021, at around 10:32 am, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 20 Milepost 39. The driver, Cesar Pablo Reyes, 38, of Sweet Home, had a warrant out of Benton County Circuit for Harassing Communications (x2). Deputies issued Pablo Reyes a criminal citation for the warrant.
POSS METHAMPHETAMINE (FELONY); FAIL CARRY/PRESENT OP LICENSE - On November 26, 2021, deputies arrested JEFFREY EARL BENZ, 43, of Deming, WA, for Unlawful Possession of  Methamphetamine and Failure to carry and present a driver’s license after a traffic stop on Blue Stem Place near Barley Hill Drive. BENZ was in possession of about one half ounce of Methamphetamine.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Thursday, November 25, 2021, at approximately 9:00 PM, deputies were dispatched to a report of a blocking non-injury crash on Springhill Drive near milepost 6. Driver 1 was driving east on Springhill Drive when the front left tire fell off his vehicle causing his 2003 Toyota Tundra to become immobilized in the roadway. When the tire came off his vehicle it struck Driver 2’s westbound 2005 Chrysler Pacifica, causing moderate damage and rendering the vehicle disabled.
WARRANT ARREST - On Wednesday November 24, 2021 at about 11:15 PM, deputies contacted RICHARD ALLEN SATHER, 32, and NICOLE CHRISTINE WHITTIER, 28, in a vehicle that was not running on NW Circle/NW 27th St, Corvallis. Both had outstanding warrants; they were both cited and released.
DUII - On November 24, 2021 at about 10:30 PM, deputies responded to Highway 20 near milepost 33 Blodgett, Lincoln County, for a two-vehicle crash. After traffic cleared, deputies observed a driver blocking traffic and the westbound portion of the highway. The driver, Michael Rafferty, 56, of Newport, was subsequently arrested for DUII.
WARRANT ARREST - On Wednesday November 24, 2021 at about 8:00 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle on Highway 200, near milepost #3 for a traffic violation. Dispatch advised the driver, ANTHONY ALAN COCHRANE, 43, of Junction City, had an outstanding warrant out of Linn County Justice Court. COCHRANE was issued a citation in the field and released.
DWS MIS - On Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at about 10:35 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 99W near milepost #91. They arrested the driver, BILLY LEROY KEATING, 44, for Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor). He was cited and released in the field.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On November 23, 2021 around 6:20 PM, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 20 and Granger Avenue for a motor vehicle crash with possible injuries. Vehicle 1 crashed into vehicle 2 while attempting to turn left onto Highway 20 from Granger Ave. The driver of vehicle 2 was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital by her husband for minor injuries. The driver of vehicle 1 was uninjured.
FAIL TO APPEAR ON CRIMINAL CITATION - On November 23, 2021 at about 5:15 am, deputies stopped Corry Tyler Harman, 28, of Independence, for a traffic violation in downtown Albany. Harman was DWS-Violation and had a confirmed Polk County Circuit Court warrant for FTA-Traffic Offense, $5000 bail. Deputies issued Harman a citation for DWS-Vio and the warrant.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On November 22, 2021, around 8:00 PM, deputies were dispatched to a vehicle crash on 53rd Street, Corvallis, near milepost three, with unknown injuries. The caller reported the vehicle was flipped onto its side and was not sure if there was anyone inside. Deputies located the driver at his grandparent`s residence and cited him for careless driving.
DEPOSIT LIGHTED MATERIAL - On 11/22/2021 at approximately 5:49 am, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a white sedan in Philomath. The driver was reported for having thrown a lit cigarette out his window. Nicholas Ragan was issued a criminal citation for throwing burning material out of his vehicle.
WARRANT ARREST - On November 22, 2021 at around 1:34 AM, deputies saw a male climbing through some bushes that divide a parking lot and the sidewalk. They contacted the male who provided them the name and date of birth as LEVI GRUENHAGEN. GRUENHAGEN, 40, had a cite-and-release warrant out of Albany Municipal Court for Felon in possession of a restricted weapon. GRUENHAGEN was cited on his warrant and released from custody.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On 11/20/2021 at approximately 10:01 pm, deputies responded to a crash on HWY 99W near milepost 104. Upon arrival they conducted a DUII investigation. Julio Velazco, 32, of Springfield, was arrested for DUII and Reckless Driving.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 1:35 PM, deputies arrested JARRYN GRIMES, 27, on a confirmed, outstanding misdemeanor warrant on SW Wake Robin Avenue near SW Pickford Street in Corvallis. GRIMES was in possession of a coat which belonged to the Corvallis Fire Department which was seized and later returned to a Battalion Chief. GRIMES was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody for his warrant.
MENACING; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Thursday, November 18, 2021, at about 2:45 pm, deputies were dispatched to investigate a report of suspicious activity in the 96400 block of Highway 99W. They later warned the reporting person about threatening people on public property and driving recklessly.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Thursday, November 18, 2021, at about 12:45 pm, deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover crash on Independence Highway near NW Palestine Avenue. Driver 1 had been traveling north on Independence Highway when she left the paved surface and went onto the shoulder of the road. She then overcorrected her steering after leaving the roadway, causing her car to roll. They driver was transported by medics to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and her vehicle was towed.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE - On Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at about 3:05 pm, deputies were advised Jordon Giftai, 31, was in the Parole and Probation office lobby. Giftai had a confirmed warrant out of Deschutes County for Sex Abuse II. Deputies contacted Giftai in the P&P Lobby, advised him he had a warrant. Deputies then walked Gaftai to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged for the warrant.
DWS MIS - On Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at approximately 10:35 A.M., deputies stopped Carlos Daniel Gonzalez, 20, of Salem, for a traffic violation. They later cited him for Driving While Suspended-Misdemeanor, as well as Violation of the Posted Speed in a School zone, for 48 miles per hour in a 20 mile per hour zone.
THEFT 3; UUV; POSS STOLEN VEHICLE - On 11/17/2021 at approximately 3:23 am, deputies responded to 200 NW 53rd Street for a report of suspicious activity. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Richard Sather, 32, for Theft II, Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Governmental Administration. Sather was issued a citation in lieu of custody.
HARASSMENT PHYSICAL CONTACT/SIMPLE ASSAULT - On Friday, November 12, 2021 at 12:27 PM, Deputies were dispatched to the 25100 block of Alpine Road in Monroe for a physical altercation. A resident reported one of the other residents of that address, CHRISTOPHER TAYLOR, 35, pushed her, spit on her, and painted her arm with a paintbrush. TAYLOR left the residence before deputy arrival, but was located a few days later. TAYLOR admitted to attempting to block the reporter from entering the house and painting her arm with the paintbrush during the altercation. TAYLOR was cited and released for Harassment.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Friday, November 12, 2021 at approximately 11:00 A.M., deputies were dispatched to the area of Highway 20 and Kings Valley Highway for a crash. Deputies arrived and learned that vehicle 1 was driving east on Highway 20 near Kings Valley Highway in a box truck. Vehicle 2 was turning from Eastbound Highway 20, north onto Kings Valley Highway in a log truck with 100-foot long, log poles. The driver of vehicle 1 tried to drive around the logs that were extended into the east bound lane. There was a trailing vehicle behind the log truck. One of the log poles struck the box truck behind the cab on the driver’s side and extended through the cargo portion. No damage to the log truck.
WARRANT ARREST - On November 7, 2021 at about 6:00 pm, deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Andee Neighbors, 23, for expired tags on the vehicle she was driving. Dispatch advised Neighbors had an outstanding warrant for her arrest out of Lebanon Oregon PD. Neighbors was cited and released to appear on a later date.
DUII - On Friday, November 5, 2021, at about 1:15 am, deputies stopped a silver Nissan Frontier pickup truck in the 2600 block of NW 9th Street for having no visible registration plate lights. They later arrested the driver, Randall Scott Curtis, 55, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Curtis was cited and given a ride to a relative’s home.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, November, 5, 2021, at approximately 1:14 AM, deputies stopped a silver 2001 Nissan Frontier pickup truck for a traffic violation in the area of Walnut Boulevard and 9th Street in Corvallis. A passenger, later identified as NICOLE RENEE PATTERSON, 24, walked away from the traffic stop and was identified a short distance away. Deputies arrested NICOLE on nine confirmed warrants for her arrest and released her with a criminal citation and new court date.
WARRANT ARREST - On Nov. 18, 2021 at approximately 11:24 am, HAWKINS, Paul Michael, 37, turned himself in at the Benton County Jail and indicated that he had an outstanding warrant for having failed to appear at the Benton County Circuit Court. A valid warrant was confirmed served by deputies for FTA – Menacing. Hawkins was released after having signed a release agreement to appear at court.
WARRANT ARREST - On 11/15/2021 about 4:00 pm, SALPAS, Che Kristian, 22, reported to the Benton County Jail on two confirmed warrants for FTA Contempt of court-Misdemeanor. SALPAS was given a new court date.
WARRANT ARREST - ON 11/10/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 11:33 AM, PERREARD, DARREN, 51, TURNED HIMSELF INTO THE BCCF LOBBY ON A CONFIRMED WARRANT FOR FTA ATT CLASS A MISD. PERREARD WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
WARRANT ARREST - On November 11, 2021, Trael Hall, 36, turned herself into the lobby of the Benton County Jail on a confirmed warrant. The warrant was served and the subject was issued a new court date to appear.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On November 9, 2021, around 3:50 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 26500 block of Shady Oak Drive, Monroe, for a possible harassment or disorderly conduct. The caller reported his landlord`s daughter had thrown a rock through the window of their residence and had threatened his girlfriend. No one was able to provide information for her location or find a phone number. No further action will be taken at this time.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Sunday, November 21, 2021, at about 11:15 pm, deputies arrested Jevon Thomas Smith, 31, in the 1300 block of College Street on multiple Benton County Circuit Court warrants. Jevon was cited and released.
WARRANT ARREST - On November 21, 2021, at 2:17 PM, deputies stopped Ernesto Aguirre-Valencia, 27, of Salem, on Highway 99W near Ryals Avenue in Adair Village. Ernesto was cited for traveling 87 miles per hour, Driving While Suspended (Violation), and Driving Uninsured. Ernesto was additionally cited on a confirmed warrant out of Albany Municipal Court for Contempt of Court, No bail.
WARRANT ARREST - On November 21, 2021, at around 10:41 am, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a black, 1994 Chrysler LHS, on Old River Road, near Milepost 7. The passenger, Peter Piazza, Sr., 37, had a warrant out of Sweet Home Municipal Court for Contempt of Court. Deputies issued Piazza a criminal citation for the warrant.
WARRANT ARREST - On November 21, 2021 at around 2:06 AM, deputies stopped a silver Mazda 6 sedan in the 600 block of NE Alexander Ave and discovered the driver, Jose Brambila, 29, had three active warrants for his arrest, in addition to having a suspended license and no insurance. He was subsequently arrested, cited and released on his warrants. Brambila was also issued traffic citations for driving while suspended and driving uninured.
POSS METH (LESS THAN 2 GRAMS) - On November 20, 2021, at 3:20 PM, deputies stopped a man on Philomath Boulevard near 53rd Street in Corvallis, after they observed him riding his bicycle on the wrong side of the road. The man thought he had a warrant for his arrest, so he decided to throw a glass Methamphetamine pipe into the ditch, hoping deputies wouldn`t see it; however, the man did not have any active warrants. Deputies warned him for the more serious D Violation, riding his bicycle on the wrong side of the roadway. The man was cited on the less serious E Violation, of Possession of Methamphetamine.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On November 20, 2021, at around 12:51 pm, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at Highway 99W Milepost 89. The driver crashed his 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 when he drove off of the roadway. The Dodge was towed from the scene. No injuries.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 9:55 AM, deputies arrested ANDREA DORMAN, 36, on a confirmed, outstanding misdemeanor warrant at a gas station and minimart in the 1300 block of NW 9th Street in Corvallis. She was issued a citation in lieu of custody for her warrant at the request of the Benton County Jail.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On Friday, November 19, 2021 at 9:20 AM, a resident in the 3600 block of NW Highway 20 reported someone had vandalized his "BLACK LIVES MATTER" sign, likely during the night of Wednesday, November 17. The suspect(s) painted over "BLACK" and replaced it with "ALL," so the sign now reads "ALL LIVES MATTER." Vandalism to his signs has been an ongoing issue. There is no suspect information.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On November 18, 2021, deputies contacted two men near 53rd St at the railroad trestle. There were several males waiting for Community Outreach to meet them to fill propane tanks.
ANIMAL OTHER - On Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at about 5:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 5500 block of West Hills Road for a dog in custody. They spoke with the homeowner who stated a white pit bull mix dog had been running in his field causing his pregnant sheep to run to the barn. He stated pregnant sheep should not be running for health reasons. He also said he did not see the dog bite or injure the sheep. Deputies took custody of the dog and transported it to Heartland Humane Society where it was lodged.
LOST PROPERTY - On November 17, 2021, deputies spoke with a female regarding her lost her red, Olympus TG 6 "Tough" camera. She stated she lost the camera while working in a stream in the Lobster Camp portion of the county on November 9, 2021. She stated she reported the camera as lost in case someone turned in the camera valued at 400.00.
THEFT 2 - On Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at approximately 11:50 A.M., deputies called and spoke with a resident regarding a theft of his canoe that had been tied to the dock near his property in the 4500 block of Northwest Highway 20. He valued the canoe at 350.00 dollars, with a 5.00 dollar life jacket and 75.00 dollar paddle inside. He also said the canoe could have been dislodged by the water or a log. He said this happened within the last two to three weeks, but he had noticed it missing yesterday. He did not have suspects.
DUII - On Sunday November 14, 2021 at about 6:45 PM, deputies were dispatched to an erratic driver on Highway 99W near Coffin Butte Road traveling south. They stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver, JOHN EDWIN GILBERT, 42, of Monmouth, for D.U.I.I. He was taken to the Sheriff`s Office where he was cited and released.
WARRANT ARREST - On November 14, 2021, around 1:00 AM, deputies were on patrol near the area of Highway 20, milepost 7, when they observed a female riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the roadway without a working headlamp. Deputies arrested Wendelynn Ann Stephens, 25, for cite and release warrants and released her with new court dates.
PROBATION VIOLATION - On November 13, 2021, at 3:56 PM, Johnathan Heath, 45, was arrested for consuming beer in a restaurant in Philomath. Heath is currently on probation out of Benton County. Heath was not allowed to consume alcoholic beverages as a condition of his probation. Heath had a beer in front of him, which was about a third of the way consumed. Deputies told Heath he was not allowed to consume alcoholic beverages while probation. Deputies advised Heath to leave and check in with his Probation Officer. Heath left immediately without question.
RECKLESS DRIVING - On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at approximately 3:48 PM, deputies were dispatched to contact a man regarding a vehicle, which had ignored the red lights and stop sign on a school bus in the area of Soap Creek Road and Moss Rock Road. He was unable to positively identify the driver of the vehicle so a citation was not issued.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On Wednesday October 20, 2021, at approximately 4:46 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 24100 block of Maxfield Creek Road for report of a suspicious person. A resident reported a male had arrived at her door asking for a ride. He told deputies he had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend and requested a ride. Deputies gave him a ride to Airlie Road and Highway 99W, where he was picked up by a friend.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at about 12:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Main Street, Monroe, to investigate a possible case of criminal mischief. Deputies spoke with the home owners, who said they heard a loud screeching sound outside their house the previous night between 7 and 8 pm. The next day they discovered their living room window had been broken.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On November 16, 2021, deputies located a Ford F-150, partially over the embankment on Highway 20 at MP 9 in Albany. The driver said that he had to make an avoiding maneuver to keep from hitting the vehicle in front of him. He stated the car in front of him had to brake rapidly for a deer that ran across the road. A tow company brought the vehicle back onto the roadway. No injuries and no damage.
DUII; DWS FEL - On Monday, November 15, 2021 at about 7:30 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle on Highway 99W near milepost #95 for several traffic violations. The driver of the vehicle, WILLIAM WAYNE KARJALA, 41, of Eugene, was arrested for Driving While Revoked - (Felony) and D.U.I.I. He was transported to the Sheriff`s Office where he refused the breath test. He was later released to a sober friend.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On November 15, 2021, at around 12:34 pm, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of SW Plymouth Dr. and Bellfountain Rd for a motor vehicle crash. Driver 1 reported he hydroplaned and drove his silver 2000 Lexus 400 into the ditch. No injuries and no damage. The driver arranged for a tow himself.
WARRANT ARREST - On November 14, 2021 at about 12:22 pm, deputies were dispatched to the Benton County Shops for a warrant service for Jeffery Tyler, 55. Tyler was cited and released on his confirmed warrant.
MISSING PERSON - On November 13, 2021, around 11:00 PM, deputies observed a Kia Rio driving without any working license plate lights. They initiated a traffic stop and contacted the driver and learned he was a missing person out of Minnesota. Dispatch spoke to a Sergeant in Minnesota and confirmed he was reported missing, but no action needed to be taken if he was alive and well. The driver was in fact alive and well.
WARRANT ARREST; FALSE INFO TO POLICE OFFICER - On November 12, 2021 at around 3:00 am, deputies contacted a male at Takena Landing in North Albany. The man told deputies his name was Mark Martin Swansen. Deputies determined this was a fictitious name and the man was detained. Deputies determined his real Identity, Tony Marvin Stephenson, 50, who had 3 warrants for his arrest. Stephensen was issued a citation in lieu of custody for his warrants and cited for providing false information to a peace officer.
DUII - On Tuesday November 9, 2021, deputies were dispatched to Barberry/Box Elder in Adair, for a report of a female who walked into someone’s residence. They arrested LINDSEY CLAIRE KELLER, 34, of Sutherlin, for D.U.I.I. and transported her to the Sheriff`s Office where she was cited and released to a friend.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On November 9, 2021 at about 5:32 am, deputies observed a vehicle parked in Hyak Park after hours. They learned the vehicle was associated with a Christopher Adam Huntting, 33. Huntting had a warrant for his arrest, FTA-Contempt of Court out of Linn County Circuit Court. Deputies knocked on the window and contacted a single occupant inside, who identified himself as Huntting. Deputies issued Huntting a new court date for his warrant.
HARASSMENT - On 10/30/2021 at approximately 11:22 pm, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 5000 block of NW HWY 99W. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Jennifer Camille, 39, for Harassment. Camille was lodged at the Benton County Jail.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On October 27, 2021 at about 6:15 PM, deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 20 and NE Granger Ave for a possible injury traffic crash. Upon arrival they observed that there were two vehicles involved. The first vehicle was a Toyota Highlander. The second vehicle was a Volkswagen Jetta. Both drivers gave a similar account of what occurred as follows. Vehicle 1 was stopped on NE Granger Ave facing south attempting to enter traffic on Highway 20 and proceed eastbound. Vehicle 2 was traveling on Highway 20 westbound near the intersection of Highway 20 and NE Granger Ave. The driver of vehicle 1 stated that her view of vehicle 2 was obstructed by a vehicle turning from Highway 20 onto NE Granger Ave when she pulled out into traffic and was hit by vehicle 2, who was traveling on Highway 20 westbound. The driver of vehicle 1 appeared to be at fault for unsafely pulling into Highway 20 traffic.
BURGLARY 1; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; THEFT 3 - On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at approximately 6:23 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 30700 block of Bellfountain Road, Corvallis, for report of a Burglary which had occurred earlier that day. The resident reported that on Tuesday, October 9, 2021 between the hours of 10:00 AM and approximately 4:00 PM and Wednesday, October 10, 2021, someone forced open his garage door, damaging it, and stole numerous alcoholic beverages from his refrigerator. There are no suspects at this time.
WARRANT ARREST - On Thursday November 11, 2021 at about 12:50 AM, deputies stopped a vehicle at the Hwy 34/Hwy 34 Bypass, in Corvallis, for a traffic violation. Dispatch advised the driver, TRISTEN JEFFREY FELDNER, 26, had two outstanding warrants out of Benton County Circuit Court. FELDNER was issued citations on both warrants and released
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at approximately 9:47 am, MESTAS, Richard Lee, 50, of Scappoose, turned himself in at the Benton County Jail on an outstanding warrant for having failed to appear at the Benton County Circuit Court. A valid warrant was confirmed as follows: FTA - Unlawful Possession of Meth. The warrant was served and the defendant was released after having signed a release agreement to appear at court.
ABANDONED VEHICLE - On November 9, 2021, around 4:45 PM, deputies went to the area of 24600 Evergreen Road, Philomath, to tow an abandoned vehicle that had been previously tagged. The vehicle was a 1999 Chevy Blazer and was towed.
DWS MIS - On November 11, 2021 at around 2:14 AM, deputies made a traffic stop on a silver Audi AA6. The driver, Manuel Martinez, 23, was criminally suspended. He was subsequently taken into custody and issued a criminal citation to appear. He was additionally issued a traffic citation for Failing to carry proof of insurance.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Friday, November 12, 2021, at approximately 5:40 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 34900 block of Wren Road, Philomath for report of a Trespass. The resident reported that his estranged significant other had returned to their residence after a domestic she had been arrested for the night before. He told deputies he did not want her at the residence any longer and requested deputies ask her to leave. Deputies confirmed with the Benton County Jail that there was a no contact release agreement in place, but it was unclear if it prohibited her from being at the residence or not. Deputies recommended to the woman she should collect some personal belongings and leave, which she did.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Friday, November 12, 2021, at approximately 3:30 PM, deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 20 and Granger Avenue for report of a traffic crash. Unit 1 was attempting to turn left (east) onto Highway 20 in his 1999 Plymouth Voyager from Granger Avenue. He failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle driving west on Highway 20, which he said he did not see and pulled into the roadway. Unit 2 struck Unit 1 with her 2006 Mazda 3, causing damage to both vehicles. Unit 2 was towed from the scene and deputies provided her a courtesy shuttle to Subway in North Albany to wait for her ride.
THEFT 1 AGGRAVATED; COMPUTER CRIME - On Friday, November 12, 2021 at 8:25 AM, residents of the 30600 block of Oakview Drive reported they were the victims of a fraud. An accented male called them claiming to work for Amazon, telling them they had an outstanding balance which was overdue. The male was given remote access to their desktop computer and said he would deposit $30,000 that he wanted the residents to wire back to him. The money was never deposited and instead $30,000 was removed from their savings account and nearly wired to a male in Lima, Peru. Fortunately, the wire transfer was stopped in time by their bank and the money was recovered.
BURGLARY 1 - On November 12, 2021, at 1:47 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 30800 block of Decker Ridge Road in Corvallis for a Burglary. The resident said she went for a 25 minute walk at about 9:30 AM. She said while she was gone, an unknown suspect came into her unlocked home and took her wallet from her purse on the Kitchen table. Nothing else was missing from the home. She told deputies her wallet contained her Oregon Driver`s License, OSCU Debit Card, OSCU Check Book, and $40.00 Cash.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On Friday, November 12, 2021 at 10:11 AM, deputies were dispatched to contact a Monroe City Employee regarding vandalism to a water intake pump house at Monroe City Park. Someone had spray-painted eleven small swastikas on the structure. There were no known suspects or motivation, but a group of juveniles have reportedly been frequenting the park in the evenings and smoking in the area of the pump house.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Thursday, November 11, 2021, at approximately 8:35 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 2300 block of NW Sulphur Springs Road for report of a male trespassing in a backyard there. Deputies arrived to find a man, intoxicated, and believing he was at his mother`s house. Deputies transported him to the 26900 block of Sulphur Springs Road where he was released to his mother.
THEFT 3 SHOPLIFT - On November 11, 2021, at 11:00 AM, deputies responded to an Alsea store for a Shoplift on Monday, November 8, 2021, at around 7:20 PM, a white male in his 20`s, wearing a dark colored hat, black mask, black jacket, and blue jeans, pocketed a NEBO Tredline Blast RC flashlight, valued at $79.99. The male left with two other males in a Jeep pulling a flatbed trailer. There are no suspects at this time.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Thursday, November 11, 2021 at about 6:23 am, deputies were dispatched to the area of Highway 20 and Garrett Lane, for a non-injury, motor vehicle crash. One driver was issued citations for no operator`s license and driving uninsured.
FALSE ALARM - On Thursday, November 11, 2021, around 5:10 A.M., deputies responded to the 2800 block of Garden Avenue for an alarm. They located the front door ajar and no one answered knocks or announcements. While searching the home, a resident came downstairs. She said they must have forgotten to secure the door. She thanked deputies and they left.
ABANDONED VEHICLE - On Thursday, November 11, 2021, at approximately 1:37 AM, deputies located a grey 2012 Jeep Patriot abandoned near milepost 2 on Highway 20. The vehicle was parked with the driver side tires the fog line and the driver’s side mirror in the lane of travel. Deputies attempted to contact the registered owner with the only phone number they could find, but could not reach anyone. Due to the vehicle being a traffic hazard and blocking the bike lane, deputies called for a tow company to respond to tow the vehicle, which they did.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM; DUII - On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at about 5:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 26700 block of Monroe Cemetery Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle. They arrived and observed a silver 2013 Ram 1500, stuck in the front yard of the residence. Deputies later arrested the driver, Timothy Young Cook, 42, for DUII and Criminal Mischief II after they determined he was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Cook was issued criminal citations and released to a sober friend.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On November 9, 2021, at around 1:29 pm, deputies were dispatched to a non-injury motor vehicle crash on Harris Rd Milepost 1. Driver 1 crashed a 2019 Hino 258 commercial vehicle when he became inattentive and drove off the roadway. The vehicle had minor damage and appeared to be drivable and did not meet the requirements for a crash report. A tow truck was requested by the driver’s supervisor to pull the truck from the ditch.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Monday, November 8, 2021, at about 3:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to investigate a suspicious person in the 27500 block of Llewellyn Road. They later spoke with a man who had become lost while taking a walk from his daughter`s house in the 27100 block of Greenberry Road. He did not want to return to his daughter’s house, but ultimately agreed to go. He was left in the care of his daughter.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On November 8, 2021 at about 5:45 am, deputies was parked on HWY 99W near Llewellyn Rd. They heard a northbound vehicle traveling at an excessive speed. As the vehicle passed, deputies observed brake lights before it lost control. The vehicle spun around and crashed into the east ditch. The driver admitted to speeding before hitting a slick spot on the highway. A tow company was dispatched to pull the vehicle from the ditch. The vehicle sustained minor cosmetic damages and was driven from the scene.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On November 7, 2021, around 11:00 PM, deputies were patrolling a parking lot in North Albany and discovered Albert Charles Prucha IV, 51, slouched over in his running vehicle. Deputies arrested Prucha for DUII, and Prucha provided a breath sample of 0.22%. Deputies released Prucha to a family member.
FRAUDULENT USE CREDIT CARD - On November 4, 2021 at around 1:00 am, deputies spoke with a resident on the telephone who called to report he could not find his wallet. He also received a notice from his bank that two charges were made to his credit card for $44.98 each, which he did not make.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 1 - On October 30, 2021 at about 3:20 pm, deputies assisted the Philomath Police Department while they were tied up on a priority call in town. They responded to the 800 block of N. 12th Street and discovered two juveniles inside the burnt out residence. Parents of the juveniles were contacted and sent home.
WARRANT ARREST - On November 8, 2021 at around 1:51 am, deputies located Janae-Lynn Marie Anderson, 24, sitting in a car in a parking lot of the 300 block of Hickory St, Albany. Anderson had a cite and release warrant out of Albany Municipal Court. During a consent search of her vehicle, two methamphetamine pipes and one plastic bag with methamphetamine residue were located. Anderson was issued a citation in lieu of custody on her warrant and issued a citation for less than 2 grams of methamphetamine (Violation).
WARRANT ARREST - On November 8, 2021 at around 1:25 AM, deputies drove into an apartment complex located in the 300 block of Hickory St NW, Albany Oregon. In the parking lot they observed a male in his 20`s who they recognized from previous contacts, as Jose Torres, 22. Torres had an outstanding secret indictment warrant out of Benton County for manslaughter with additional charges attached to the warrant. Torres was taken into custody and transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked.
DWS MIS - On November 8, 2021 at around 12:15 AM, deputies stopped a blue Chevy Suburban near NW HWY 20 and North Albany Rd for having no functional license plate light. The driver, Jason Coleman, 49, was driving with a suspended license. Additionally, he had no proof of insurance. Coleman was issued a citation in lieu of custody on his warrant and also cited for failing to carry proof of insurance and for operating a vehicle without required lighting.
WARRANT ARREST - On November 7, 2021 at around 1:35 am, deputies located Elizabeth Bowman, 38, at Takena Landing hiding behind a sub wall near the bathrooms. Bowman had a cite and release warrant out of Albany Municipal Court and an additional warrant out of Benton County. She was cited and released for her warrants. During her arrest deputies located a syringe with heroin in her pocket. She was additionally cited for unlawful possession of heroin – violation.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On November 6, 2021, at around 1:10 pm, deputies were dispatched to NW Springhill Dr, milepost 3 for a motor vehicle crash. Driver 1 was driving east on NW Springhill Dr in a gray 2006 Infiniti G35 when he crashed off the roadway. Wet and slippery roads due to a hailstorm were contributing factors to the crash. No apparent injuries. The Infiniti was towed from the scene.
THEFT 3 - On October 8, 2021, at least four individuals were present when a 24 inch by 18 inch Black Lives Matter sign was stolen from the 4300 block of NW Circle Blvd. The incident was not reported until November 4, 2021, when it was discovered. The surveillance video of the incident will be reviewed for investigative leads.
THEFT 1 FROM BUILDING - On November 4, 2021, deputies spoke with a resident in the 31400 block of Peterson Rd, Philomath, who told them the contents of a package was stolen from his front porch. Other tools were stolen from his property at the same time.
DUII - On October 31, 2021 at around 3:28 AM, deputies were driving to the Law Enforcement Center when they observed a wrong-way driver on Jackson Street approaching 4th. Deputies made a traffic stop on the vehicle and determined the driver, Cole Carter, 21, was under the influence of intoxicants and was subsequently arrested for DUII.
DUII - On October 24, 2021 at around 11:34 pm, deputies stopped a white ford focus that was failing to maintain lane at HWY 20 and Shrike Way. Deputies contacted the driver, Zack Wilson, 30, who they determined was too impaired to drive. He was subsequently arrested for DUII and transported to the Law Enforcement Center.
BURGLARY 2; THEFT 2 FROM BUILDING; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1 - On October 19, 2021, at around 8:45 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 30800 block of Bellfountain Road for a trespass in progress. The caller reported seeing a male on his cameras that was not supposed to be there. His John Deere riding lawnmower was found in the ditch on Llewelyn and a red Craftsman riding lawnmower was reported stolen.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 11/7/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 12:25 AM, GILMORE, JUSTIN, 35, TURNED HIMSELF INTO THE BCCF LOBBY ON A WARRANT OUT OF CORVALLIS MUNI COURT FOR FTA DAMAGE PROPERTY, BAIL $5K. GILMORE WAS RELEASED WITH A NEW COURT DATE AND TIME.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 1:57 PM, deputies arrested CASEY LANPHEAR, 33, for multiple outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants as he was walking near SW 3rd Street and SW Twin Oaks Circle in Corvallis. LANPHEAR tried to use his brother‘s identity and claimed he took Fentanyl pills when he saw them. LANPHEAR was evaluated at the scene by medics and transported to the hospital by ambulance where he was medically cleared. LANPHEAR was booked and lodged on his warrants at the Benton County Jail
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, November 5, 2021 at 1:05 PM, deputies went to the 800 block of NW Oak Avenue in Corvallis to speak with a male named NATHAN WILHOIT, 22, regarding a previous investigation. During the contact with WILHOIT, deputies learned he and another resident of the apartment named NOAH BURKE, 21, both had outstanding warrants for their arrest. WILHOIT was cited and released on his confirmed misdemeanor warrant. BURKE was arrested for his confirmed felony and misdemeanor warrants and transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked, before being subsequently released due to overcrowding
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On November 4, 2021 at around 10:11 PM, deputies were dispatched to a cold trespass that occurred in the 800 block of Aldrich Way, Monroe. A man reported a woman came to his house yelling that the man’s adult son owed her money. After telling her to leave, she left the property. The man wanted her trespassed so she wouldn`t return. Deputies contacted the woman and notified her that she was trespassed and not to return.
WILDLIFE OFFENSE - On Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 6:07 p.m., deputies responded to the 25000 block of Cherry Creek Rd, Monroe, for a possible game violation. The reporting party saw two male subjects shoot a deer, quickly load it into their pickup, and speed away. This was on Cherry Creek Rd in front of the residence. Unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On November 4, 2021, at 4:15 PM, deputies spoke to a driver after she called 911 and flagged deputies down. She said she was at a court hearing in Albany and thought a red, 2002 Subaru Impreza was following her from the hearing. She said the Subaru turned off and went westbound on Buchanan Avenue after she got behind deputies. The Subaru was not currently registered and shows sold. Albany Police Department stopped a man associated with the vehicle back on October 2, 2021. He lives in Corvallis and was most likely traveling home from Albany, based on the location he lives.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 11/04/21, ALLEN, Winston, 42, was being released from Benton Co Jail when they learned he had a Philomath Municipal warrant for FTA DUII. Allen was issued a new court date.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE - On Thursday, November 4, 2021 at about 12:57 pm, deputies observed a U-Haul van parked in the gravel lot of the Benton County Fair Grounds. Cory Watkins, 28, was issued a citation for a warrant out of Benton County.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On November 3, 2021, driver 1 Linn was south on Hwy 99W near NW Arboretum Road when she struck a deer with her 2014 Mazda MZ3. Deputies removed the deer from the roadway and photographed the damage to her vehicle. She drove the vehicle from the scene.
THEFT 1; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On November 2, 2021, around 6:00 PM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a resident by phone about the theft of a utility trailer that occurred early in the morning that day. They described the trailer as an 8 foot by 15 foot Aztek utility trailer with a steel frame and wooden deck. They estimated the value of the trailer to be $2,000. There is no suspect information at this time.
THEFT OF SERVICES; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On November 2, 2021, around 6:00 PM, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Golf View and 45th Street, Corvallis, for a reported theft of services. The caller reported a male was golfing in the golf course and had not paid. He said he saw the male golfing, and when he confronted the male the male agreed to leave without incident. He said the male was driving a beat up Honda Pilot, with a tarp or plastic covering the window. He said it was not the first tome the male had done this and was seen at the golf course earlier in October. Deputies advised the caller to call into dispatch if the male returns and have him arrested for trespass.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER – On November 2, 2021, around 4:45 PM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a woman by phone about a hit and run, which occurred earlier in the day. She reported a white utility truck scraped the side of her vehicle while she was waiting in the pickup line at Oak Grove Elementary. She was not able to see a license plate number, or a company logo on the vehicle.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 11/02/2021 at 4:22 pm, Keim, Nicholas, 32, turned himself in at the Benton County Jail on a warrant for Aggravated Theft I, which was confirmed. Keim was released with a new court date and time.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On November 3, 2021, driver 1 was south on Hwy 99W near NW Arboretum Road when she struck a deer with her 2014 Mazda MZ3. Deputies removed the deer from the roadway and photographed the damage to her vehicle. She drove the vehicle from the scene
DUII DRUGS; ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at about 6:20 pm, deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on Marys Peak Road near milepost 1. Deputies later arrested the driver, Brenden Uriah Harding, 18, for DUII. Harding was cited and released. Harding`s vehicle was towed from the scene by a relative.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On November 2, 2021, at around 3:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to a cold call involving suspicious circumstances on Finley Refuge Road. A woman reported she was parked at a wayside along Finley Road on October 31 at around 4:30 pm while she hiked. After returning to her vehicle she discovered a missing rear light. She did not know when she lost the light, but she remembered a white over gray older model Subaru station wagon being parked at the wayside when she initially arrived. No current suspects.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On November 2, 2021, deputies responded to a two-vehicle non-injury crash on NE Highway 20 near NE Asbahr Ave. A white Ford F-150 rear-ended a black Prius. Both vehicles were towed due to damage.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT 2 - On November 2, 2021, deputies responded to Crescent Valley High School for a report of students setting off fireworks inside and outside buildings. One male juvenile was transported to juvenile detention for his role in the incident.
ABANDONED VEHICLE - On Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at approximately 2:15 P.M., deputies arrived on Hyslop Road near Granger Avenue for a reported abandoned vehicle. Deputies had previously checked on this vehicle on October 31, 2021. The vehicle has not moved since this time. Deputies tagged the vehicle as abandoned. The vehicle is a 2004, Silver Kia Spectra.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On November 1, 2021 @ approximately 8:20 am, RAIN, Laila, 56, turned herself in on possible warrants. Rain had 24 FTA warrants, one being FTA Aggravated Harassment Warrant. Rain was brought into the jail so she could appear in court from the jail.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING – On October 30, 2021, deputies stopped Aimee FERNANDEZ, 22, for Failure to Drive Within Lane, Improper Right Turn, and suspicion of DUII. Deputies could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from FERNANDEZ`s vehicle. FERNANDEZ had bloodshot, watery eyes and had slurred speech. FERNANDEZ admitted to drinking one hard cider. FERNANDEZ consented to field sobriety tests. Deputies arrested Aimee FERNANDEZ for DUII and transported her to the Benton County Sheriff`s Office where she provided physical cooperation providing a breath test. FERNANDEZ was released to a friend.
HARASSMENT PHYSICAL CONTACT/SIMPLE - On Friday, October 29, 2021 at 7:12 AM, deputies responded to the 25700 block of Cherry Creek Road in Monroe for a physical domestic. DAWSON EDWARDS-KING, 25, was arrested after he pushed a juvenile for using his cell phone to record EDWARDS-KING. EDWARDS-KING was cited for Harassment.
THEFT 1 DECEPTION; COMPUTER CRIME - On Monday, October 25, 2021 at 9:43 AM, a resident in the 31700 block of Horse Farm Lane in Philomath reported his computer had been "HACKED" and he provided his bank account information to an individual claiming to be with "NORTON ANTI-VIRUS LIFELOCK." The individual deposited $4,000 into his account, which he wanted him to withdraw and return via gift cards. The money was removed before this could occur, but he noticed he was now missing approximately $1,000 of his own money from fraudulent transactions between his bank accounts and credit card. His financial institution was working with him to establish new accounts and refund the money.
WARRANT ARREST - On October 11, 2021, at around 4:30 pm, deputies attempted to serve a warrant in the 3400 block of NE Oxford Circle. A resident, Gabrielle Bernhardt, 25, was later transported to the Benton County Sheriff`s Office, where she was issued criminal citations for an Albany Municipal Court warrant for Theft 2, and a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for Theft 3
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at about 10:20 AM, deputies were dispatched to a fraud in the 29100 block of Carey-Fox Road near Alsea. Deputies spoke with a resident who stated an unknown person called him and attempted to have him put spyware on his computer. He informed he use to work in IT and knew it was a fraud attempt. He said he wished to make a formal report but knew the person "most likely lived in India based on his voice". He stated he was not out any money but wanted the Sheriff`s Office to be aware of the attempt.
THEFT 3 - On Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at about 10:24 am, deputies were dispatched to the Alsea Mercantile for the report of a theft. Alsea Mercantile staff reported a juvenile male stole two energy drinks from their store. The male was known to attend Alsea School. A civil compromise was reached by all parties involved.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, November 2nd, 2021 at about 12:15 AM, deputies stopped a vehicle on the Highway 34 Bypass near Highway 34 for a traffic violation. The driver, SHAWN RICE, 42, had an outstanding Felony Warrant out Deschutes County. RICE was cited and released in the field.
THEFT 2 BICYCLE; WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 10:31 AM, deputies arrested STANLEY POMAIKAI, 39, for an outstanding felony warrant in the woods along the railroad tracks south of Home Depot at 1780 NE Four Acre Place in Corvallis. POMAIKAI was also in possession of a stolen Trek mountain bike shortly before his arrest, which was recovered and later released to OSU Public Safety. POMAIKAI was booked and lodged at the Benton County Jail where he was also charged with Theft II.
FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER - On October 18, 2021, around 3:45 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of Commercial Street, Monroe, for a possible hit and run. The caller reported his neighbor had packed his pickup up and drove into his fence, bending one of the poles.
ACCIDENT OTHER NO INJ - On October 3, 2021, deputies responded to a motor-vehicle crash with no injuries in the 2400 block of NE Garden Avenue. Deputies cited the driver for Driving while Suspended and Driving Uninsured. She admitted fault for the crash.
WARRANT ARREST - On November 1, 2021, at around 3:00pm, deputies contacted Thomas O`Hearn, 41, of Dallas, who was sitting inside a gray 2006 Ford Crown Victoria near NE Walnut Blvd and Highway 99W. Deputies later issued O`Hearn a criminal citation for Dallas Municipal Court warrant for Failure to Appear-Failure to Return a Suspended Driver’s License, and a citation for Driving Uninsured.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 11/1/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 2:40 PM, MACK, LONNIE, 46, TURNED HIMSELF INTO THE BCCF LOBBY LOCATED AT 190 NW 4TH STREET ON A CONFIRMED WARRANT FOR FTA AGG THEFT 1, BURG 2, BAIL $10K. DEPUTIES RELEASED MACK WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Monday, November 1, 2021 at 7:00 am, Jameson Honeyman, 36, turned himself into the Benton County Jail. Honeyman had a confirmed warrant out of Benton County for DCS Heroin. Honeyman was booked and remained in custody.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, October 31, 2021, around 7:45 P.M., deputies arrested Teddy Johnston, 34, on a Benton County Circuit Court warrant for Criminal Mischief II and Interfering. Johnston was issued a criminal citation for the warrant.
WARRANT ARREST - On 10/28/21, SMITH, Edgar Neil, 65, turned himself in at Benton Co Jail for a Benton Co FTA warrant. Deputies issued Smith a new court date.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER; ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Saturday, October 23, 2021, at about 12:55 am, a white 2020 Jeep crashed into a utility pole on Highway 99 W about 0.5 miles north of NE Granger Avenue. The utility pole was knocked down and live power lines dropped onto the roadway. The driver of the Jeep fled the scene of the crash before emergency personnel arrived. The Jeep was later reported stolen from the 5000 block of NW Highway 99W. The power lines were rendered safe by Pacific Power, the highway was reopened for traffic, and the Jeep was towed.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 10/20/21, TYLER, Zachary, 42, turned himself in at the Benton Co Jail on a confirmed Benton Circuit warrant. Tyler was issued a new court date.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 10/12/2021, DORMAN, CURTIS WILLIAM, 18, REPORTED TO THE FRONT DOOR OF THE JAIL FOR A WARRANT FOR FTA-DISORDERLY CONDUCT II. DORMAN WAS RELEASED WITH A NEW COURT DATE AND TIME.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 7:54 PM, a possible theft in progress was dispatched at the Benton County Fairgrounds at 110 SW 53rd Street in Corvallis. A security guard who was contracted to provide security for a Covid-19 immunization event reported there were subjects possibly stealing Christmas decorations from a building at that location. Deputies determined the individuals were juveniles with a supervised 4-H group who had permission to be at the fairgrounds. One of the juveniles, who was stopped leaving the area in his vehicle, consented to a search and was found to not have any Christmas decorations in his possession.
DWS MIS - On October 31, 2021, at 2:54 PM, deputies stopped Charles Shirai, 51, on 3rd Street near Cummings Avenue in Corvallis. Shirai was cited for Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor.
THEFT 1 - On October 31, 2021, at 11:45 AM, deputies spoke to a female in regards to a Fraud compliant. She reported she sent a cashier`s check for $1700, to an address in Minneapolis. She said the check was for releasing a care package from Turkish Customs, for a military family stuck overseas. She said she received another request for $13,000, and was told she would be arrested if she did not send it. Deputies advised her she would not be arrested and to not send any more money because it was a scam.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, October 31, 2021 at 8:45 AM, deputies contacted a male sitting in the passenger seat of a black Acura RSX coupe parked in the lot of the Heartland Humane Society in Corvallis. They arrested JAMES KELLY, 32, of Newport, on multiple outstanding warrants after they determined he had used the name of his twin brother. KELLY was transported to Ellmaker State Park where he was transferred to the custody of the Lincoln County Sheriff`s Office to be booked and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail.
WARRANT ARREST - On October 30, 2021 at around 11:00 pm, deputies made a traffic stop on a dark-colored Chevy Malibu at the entrance of Takena Landing. A male passenger in the vehicle was identified as Andrew Steven Roth, 30, of Eugene, who had a cite and release warrant out of Lebanon Municipal Court for Criminal Mischief II. Roth was issued a citation in lieu of custody and released on his warrant with a new court date to appear.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On October 31, 2021 at about 10:00 pm, a driver reported an unknown subject shined a green laser into her eyes while she driving westbound on HWY 20 near Lilly Hill. She did not see the suspect but believed they were in the tree line on the south side of HWY 20 near the large gravel pull out. No suspicious people or vehicles were encountered during the deputy’s patrol of the area.
WARRANT ARREST – On 10/30/2021 at approximately 1014 pm, deputies contacted an adult female outside the Sheriff`s Office on Jackson Street. The female identified herself as Barbara Anderson, 67. Anderson had an active warrant for DUII. Deputies issued Anderson a citation in lieu of custody.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 9:37 AM, deputies arrested BRITTAIN DONALDSON, 31, in a parking lot in the 1800 block NW 9th Street in Corvallis, for multiple outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants. DONALDSON was booked at the Benton County Jail and subsequently released due to overcrowding.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On October 30, 2021 at about 5:50 am, deputies were dispatched to Bellfountain Rd south of Chapel for a single vehicle vs deer. The driver was southbound on Bellfountain when he struck a deer crossing the road in front of him. He requested a salvage tag for the deer and arranged for his own tow company, as the truck was inoperable.
MISSING PERSON - On Friday, October 29, 2021, at about 6:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to investigate a possible missing person off South Fork Road near the Alsea Falls Campground. On BLM 14-7-36, near South Fork Road, deputies spoke with a man who reported his 80-year-old wife had become lost while the two of them were hunting for mushrooms in the woods. Benton County Search and Rescue was notified and they have initiated a search of the area. She was located the following morning, uninjured.
LITTERING - On October 29, 2021, at 10:43 AM, an employee of a private forest called to report an unknown person dumped some trash in timber property off of Maxfield Creek Road in Benton County. Deputies provided him with a case number.
DWS MIS; FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE - On October 28, 2021 at around 9:10 pm, deputies saw a pick-up truck that was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Tampico Road near milepost 1. They saw a recorded speed of 70 mph for the truck on the radar unit in their patrol car. Deputies turned to follow the pickup and was able to make a traffic stop on Tampico Road and Berry Creek Road at the Benton/Polk County Line. The driver identified himself as Troy Averill, 51, and he had misdemeanor suspended driving status through DMV. He also had a warrant for his arrest out of Philomath. His passenger was identified as Keith Szlavich, 53, and he had a misdemeanor warrant out of Linn County. Both were issued citations and were released.
FELON IN POSS OF RESTRICTED WEAPON; POSS HEROIN (FELONY); DUII; FAIL TO CARRY/PRESENT OP LICENSE; POSS OXYCODONE (FELONY) - On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at about 12:45 am, deputies saw a dark gray Chevy Tahoe traveling south on Highway 99 W. The Tahoe repeatedly crossed the fog line on the west side of the highway near NW Elks Drive. Deputies stopped the vehicle and later arrested the driver, Nathan Joel Kelly, 45, of Dallas, for DUII, felony unlawful possession of heroin, felony unlawful possession of oxycodone, and possession of a weapon by a felon. Kelly was transported to the Benton County Jail and released by jail staff after they received a No File letter from the Benton County District Attorney`s Office.
VIOL RELEASE AGREEMENT; WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at approximately 2:20 P.M., deputies went to the area of West Hills Road and Reservoir Road, to assist Philomath Police with a Violation of a Release Agreement. They arrested Dustin Whinnery, 34, for violating a release agreement after he sent text messages to the victim. Deputies transported Whinnery to the Benton County Jail where he was lodged for the violation. They also cited and released Whinnery for confirmed warrants from Albany Municipal Court and Philomath Municipal Court.
VIOL RELEASE AGREEMENT - On Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at approximately 11:40 A.M., deputies went to the 2500 block of Newton Street to attempt to serve a subpoena. A male answered the door who identified himself as James Royce Lillard, 32. Deputies saw Lillard was the person whom the case was against on the subpoena. Deputies confirmed a valid No Contact Release Agreement existed, preventing him from being at the residence. Deputies arrested Lillard for the violation, and transported him to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and released.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, October 25, 2021 at 2:32 PM, deputies stopped a white Cadillac Escalade SUV driven by TONIE ATHILL, 33, near SW 53rd Street and SW Philomath Boulevard in Corvallis. Deputies had existing probable cause from a previous matter to arrest ATHILL for violating a restraining order. ATHILL also had multiple unrelated misdemeanor warrants for arrest. ATHILL was cited for her outstanding warrants after being booked and lodged at the Benton County Jail on the charge of Violation of a Restraining Order (x2).
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - October 24, 2021 at about 3:38 am, deputies observed a Dodge Ram 2500 parked in the middle of the old section of Reservoir Ave facing north. The vehicle had been involved in a crash and was unoccupied. An investigation at the scene showed the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Reservoir Ave when it failed to negotiate a left hand curve. The vehicle entered the right (east) ditch were it continued alongside of Reservoir for about 100 yards. The vehicle struck a culvert headwall at old Reservoir Ave, coming to rest on the road. The vehicle was towed due to it being a traffic hazard. Deputies contacted the owner later that evening and he stated he swerved to avoid a deer.
DUII DRUGS; RECKLESS DRIVING; ELUDE VEHICLE; FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE - On October 23, 2021, deputies attempted to stop Chad Anderson, 27, of Hillsboro, for traveling 63 mph in a 30 mph zone. Mr. Anderson refused to stop for lights and siren, was driving recklessly prior to and during the attempt to elude, the road conditions and at least 15 cars had to pull to the side of the road to avoid Mr. Anderson`s driving. Mr. Anderson finally stopped and was taken into custody for: DUII controlled substance, Reckless Driving, Attempt to Elude, an outstanding warrant out of Hillsboro and several other moving violations. Mr. Anderson was cited and later released.
DUII - On October 23, 2021 at around 1:52 AM, deputies were dispatched to a vehicle in the ditch near NW Independence and NW Metge Ave. Deputies located a black-colored Subaru WRX in the ditch on the west side of the roadway facing north. Deputies determined the driver of the vehicle, Ivan Rodriguez, 26, was under the influence of intoxicants and was subsequently arrested for DUII. He was transported to the Law Enforcement Center where he provided two breath samples. He was issued a citation and released to a sober friend.
THEFT 3; PERSON < 21 POSSESSING / CONSUMING MARIJUANA - On October 22, 2021, deputies were dispatched to Alsea School. Marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia were located in a purse in the locker room after the Homecoming Dance. The minor reported that her AirPod protective case, a panda coin purse containing $2 in change, and $25 cash was missing from her purse.
DUII - On Friday, October 23, 2021, at about 10:45 pm, deputies stopped Thomas James Navin, 22, for failure to obey a one-way designation. They later arrested Navin for DUII after determining he was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Navin was cited and released to a sober friend at the Benton County Sheriff`s Office.
WARRANT ARREST - On October 22, 2021 at around 9:44 am, deputies were dispatched to the 26600 block of Gwillim Lane for suspicious circumstances. The caller reported Robert Bryant, 34, had been missing. Deputies learned the man missing had two warrants for his arrest. Deputies later located him asleep on a trampoline on the property. Bryant was cited and released for two warrants, and additionally issued a citation for being in possession of less than 2 grams of methamphetamine.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ – On October 20, 2021, Vehicle #1 was driving north on Highway 99W and did not stop for vehicle #2, which was slowing for traffic stopped at the red light at the intersection of Highway 99W and Lewisburg Ave. Vehicle #1 rear ended Vehicle #2 causing minor damage to both vehicles. Vehicle #1 was towed from the scene and there were no injuries and no citations issued.
DUII - On October 16, 2021 at around 2:40AM, deputies observed a vehicle in the wrong lane of travel, stopped at the light at 15th Street and Monroe Ave in Corvallis. Deputies stopped the vehicle and determined the driver, Julian Garcia, 24, of Keizer, was under the influence of intoxicants. He was taken into custody and transported to the Law Enforcement Building where he provided a breath sample.
IMPROPER USE OF 911; FAIL CARRY/PRESENT OP LICENSE – On 10/06/2021 at approximately 1:28 am, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Philomath Blvd in Corvallis. The driver of the vehicle was identifed as Charles McGinty, 28, of Gladstone. McGinty refused to identify himself and called 911 during the traffic stop. McGinty was arrested for Failure to Carry and Present an Operator`s License and Improper Use of 911. McGinty was issued a citation in lieu of custody.
THEFT 3; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On October 25, 2021, at around 9:00 am, deputies were dispatched to the 2510 block of Webster Ave, for a report of theft and criminal mischief. The resident reported the previous night, an unknown person(s) stole two cans of soup she was using to prop up the hood on her 2006 Toyota Prius. The theft went unnoticed and as she was driving, the Prius’ hood flew up and destroyed the windshield. The windshield is valued at around $500. No current suspects.
