Listed below are recent incidents responded to by the Benton County Sheriff's Office. This report does not reflect all Sheriff's Office activities and is updated as time and personnel allows.

ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at about 3:30 pm, deputies responded to a single vehicle crash in the 200 block of Armstrong Way. Unit 1 was northbound on Armstrong Way and swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle. Armstrong Way is a narrow roadway with no shoulder. Unit 1 left the roadway; the driver panicked and hit the accelerator by mistake. She drove through a front yard, damaging landscaping and fencing.
BURGLARY 2 - On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at about 1:15pm, deputies were dispatched to investigate a cold burglary at NE Highway 20 and NE Garden Avenue. The farm operator reported that $750 in equipment and tools were stolen overnight from an unsecured greenhouse on the property.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at about 9:45 am, deputies were dispatched to a crash involving two motor vehicles and a bicycle on Highway 20 near milepost 6. The bicyclist sustained minor injuries.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Sunday August 1, 2021, at about 1:41 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of SW Allen Street, Corvallis, regarding a suspicious person. A resident found Thomas Hays, 52, on his front porch displaying odd behavior. Hays walked around a closed driveway gate and multiple no trespassing signs to get to the residence. Deputies arrested Hays for Criminal Trespass II, cited and released him at the Men’s Shelter on SE Chapman Place.
DWS MIS; WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, August 1, 2021 at about 1:00 P.M., deputies observed a white, 1999, SAAB driving east on Highway 20 near milepost 40, with a red and white emergency flashing light in the windshield. Deputies arrested the driver, Dustin Whinnery, 34, for multiple warrants, and driving while suspended misdemeanor. Dustin was cited for Use of prohibited lighting equipment. Dustin was issued citations for his warrants and released. Dustin had one warrant out of Philomath Municipal Court for Driving while suspended - Misdemeanor with no bail. Dustin had a second warrant out of Albany Municipal Court for Driving while suspended - Misdemeanor with no bail.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING; ACCIDENT INJURY - On July 31, 2021, at around 3:54 pm, deputies were dispatched to Highway 99W Milepost 99 for a motor vehicle crash. James Reid, 47, of Eugene, crashed his silver 1996 Acura Integra when he drove off of the roadway. Reid was transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital. Reid was later issued criminal citations for DUII and Reckless Driving and his car was towed.
BCSO ANIMAL - On Saturday, July 31, 2021, at about 10:37 am, deputies were dispatched to a cat complaint on the 7200 block of NW Council Tree Lane, Corvallis. The caller reported an injured cat in the backyard of a house she is rehabilitating. Deputies captured the cat and took it to Heartland Humane Society. Heartland staff told deputies the cat was microchipped and they would attempt to contact the owner.
ASSAULT 4 - On July 31, 2021, at around 10:51 am, deputies were dispatched to the Alsea School for a reported assault. A man reported Doug Hatch, 50, kicked him in the neck during an argument. Hatch was later issued a criminal citation for Assault 4.
ABANDONED VEHICLE - On Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 8:56 AM, deputies were dispatched to the area of NE Barberry Drive and NE Hyacinth Court in Adair Village for an abandoned vehicle. They tagged a silver, 2005 Honda Civic for tow, which had reportedly been left on the street near that location for approximately a week. The car was covered in dust and appeared to be in poor condition.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10:21 AM, deputies contacted a black Audi sedan in a parking lot in the 2600 block of NW 9th Street in Corvallis. The driver was served with an outstanding restraining order. Two of the passengers, MERITT HAGEMAN, 25, and SEQUOIA WHITE, 23, were cited and released on numerous felony and misdemeanor warrants at the request of the Benton County Jail. Violation amounts of controlled substances and paraphernalia were located and seized for destruction.
ABANDONED VEHICLE - On July 31, 2021 at approximately 5:30 AM, deputies saw a black sedan parked on the side of Highway 20 near milepost 43. The vehicle was parked with its driver’s side tires into the westbound lane of travel. A male was standing at the rear of the vehicle and told deputies he recently sold the vehicle. He said he saw the vehicle on the side of the highway so he stopped. He said the vehicle’s owner was nowhere to be found. Deputies told him he needed to make arraignments to have the vehicle moved since it was still registered to him. The man maintained he was no longer the owner; deputies had a tow company remove the vehicle as a road hazard.
WARRANT ARREST - On 07/30/2021 at approximately 1:14 am, deputies conducted a traffic stop on NW 29th Street near Walnut Boulevard. They identified the driver and solo occupant of the vehicle as Joshua Greene, 35. Greene had an active warrant for his arrest. Deputies issued Greene a citation in lieu of custody for his warrant.
DWS MIS; ACCIDENT NON INJURY - On July 30, 2021 at around 6:31pm, deputies responded to the area of Hwy 99W and Alpine Cutoff Road for a vehicle crash. They arrived on scene and located Donald HENDERSHOT, 47. They determined HENDERSHOT was driving southbound on HWY99 W and dropped his wheels off the shoulder edge of the roadway causing him to crash his ford F-150 which was pulling an RV 5th wheel trailer. Deputies determined HENDERSHOT did not have any insurance, and his driver’s license status was revoked misdemeanor. HENDERSHOT was issued a criminal citation for driving while suspended misdemeanor, and issued a traffic citation for driving uninsured. A tow company arrived on scene a short while later and removed the pickup and trailer from the area.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, July 30, 2021 at 1:37 PM, I contacted BRITTAIN DONALDSON, 31, of Bend, and AMATHIST LAHODNY, 22, of Scio, in a parking lot in the 1100 block of NW 9th Street in Corvallis. Both individuals had outstanding felony warrants for their arrest. DONALDSON was issued criminal citations with court dates in lieu of custody for his warrants. LAHODNY was arrested and transported to the Benton County Jail where she was booked on her warrants and subsequently released.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - On July 29, 2021, at 10:32 PM, deputies were was dispatched to the 15200 block of Lobster Valley Road in Alsea for a suspicious vehicle. A caller reported an unoccupied 2015 Kia Sol parked across the street from his house for over a day. He wanted a report taken in case the owner was up to no good.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - On July 29, 2021 around 10:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to 53rd Street, near milepost 2, Corvallis, for a suspicious vehicle. The caller said a dark-colored Chevy Blazer had been parked near the bridge across from his field all day. Deputies spoke with the owner of the vehicle who said he would move his vehicle when it was running again. Deputies received a text message from the caller a short time later stating they vehicle had moved on.
WARRANT ARREST - On Thursday, July 29, 2021, at about 12:20 pm, deputies arrested Ashley Nicole Ferro, 33, on a Benton County warrant for Disorderly Conduct II. Ferro was cited with a new court date and released.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 11:38 AM, a man called to report he located a knife with blood on it lying on the shoulder of Tampico Road, just west of Andrews Lane. The knife, which was a folding skinning knife, was covered in blood and had white animal hair stuck between the blade and body. Deputies left a business card at a residence near where the knife was found.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 29, 2021, at around 11:55 am, deputies contacted a man sitting down in a private field near Highway 99W Milepost 92. The man provided several false names and tried to walk away before finally identifying himself as David Wayne Jost, 65, of McMinville. Deputies later transported Jost to Benton County Jail on a Probation Violation Warrant out of California and was subsequently released.
THEFT 2 - On Thursday, July 29, 2021, at about 10:15 am, deputies were dispatched to a reported theft from a farm in the 1600 block of NE Nebergall Loop, Albany. The farm operator reported that a 12v solar panel kit and a water diaphragm pressure pump were stolen from a water trailer. He believed the theft happened within the last 7 days and that the thieves may have approached the farm from the Willamette River. No investigative leads at this time.
THEFT 3 - On July 29, 2021, at around 9:24 am, deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Kelly St, Monroe, for a reported theft. A resident reported that the rear license plate of her red 2009 Nissan Versa was stolen. The theft occurred between 1:00pm on July 28 and 8:00am July 29. No current suspects.
THEFT OF SERVICES - On July 25, 2021, at around 3:57 am, deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of W. Main St for a report of theft of services. An employee reported a woman in a white Hyundai sedan with Nevada license plates put two trash bags of garbage in the Café’s garbage cans and drove off. Deputies were unable to locate the sedan.
UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On July 25, 2021, at around 3:10 pm, deputies were dispatched to the trailhead parking lot of the Lewisburg Saddle, located at 2778 NW Sulphur Springs Rd, for multiple reports of broken car windows. A man reported the window of his 2020 Subaru Outback had been broken and its contents rifled through. No items of value appeared to have been stolen. No current suspects.
UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On July 25, 2021, at around 3:10 pm, deputies was dispatched to the trailhead parking lot of the Lewisburg Saddle, located at 2778 NW Sulphur Springs Rd, for multiple reports of broken car windows. They found a white 2016 Toyota Rav4 with a broken window and its contents rifled through. They later spoke with the owner who reported no items of value appear to have been stolen. No current suspects.
UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On July 25, 2021, at around 3:10 pm, deputies were dispatched to the trailhead parking lot of the Lewisburg Saddle, located at 2778 NW Sulphur Springs Rd, for multiple reports of broken car windows. A female reported the window of her 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe had been broken. No items of value appear to have been stolen. No current suspects.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 7/23/2021 at around 6:13 PM, Vehicle #1 was stopped at the stop sign on Independence Rd and Highway 20, attempting to turn eastbound towards Albany on Highway 20. Vehicle #2 was traveling westbound on Highway 20 approaching Independence Rd. Vehicle #1`s view was partially blocked by a vehicle turning onto Independence Rd. Vehicle #1 turned in front of Vehicle #2 causing them to collide at the intersection. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to the damage from the crash.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at about 1:13 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of SW 53rd Street for a motor vehicle crash. Unit one was headed south on 53rd Street and noticed traffic in front of him was stopped. Unit one was unable to stop and rear-ended unit two. Unit one was towed and the driver of Unit two drove his vehicle away from the scene.
ASSAULT 4; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On July 17, 2021 at approximately 3:10 AM, deputies responded to the 27100 block of Highway 99W, Monroe, and arrested Dalton BAKER, 26, for assault 4 and criminal trespass 2.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 07/28/2021, jail deputies discovered that Megan Lee Evans, 28, of Portland, had an active warrant. She was given a new court date and time to appear.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 07/28/21 at approx 1:25 pm, jail deputies ran DEER, Dylan L., 25, and learned he had a warrant for FTA PCS Meth, out of Benton County, No Bail. DEER was given a court date and time to appear.
ABANDONED VEHICLE - On July 28, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of NW Cheri Place, Albany for a report of a travel trailer parked in the roadway. The trailer was parked in the northern most portion of the cul-de-sac. The trailer was not an obstruction to vehicle or EMS traffic and was not blocking any driveways.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at about 7:40 am, deputies were dispatched to investigate a suspicious vehicle parked in the 23000 block of Old Peak Rd, Philomath. They later contacted the driver of the vehicle, who was camping illegally nearby. He agreed to move his vehicle and not return to the area.
DWS MIS - On Monday, July 26, 2021 at about 8:48 AM, deputies received a call stating Jason Allie Coleman, 49, was at Wilson Motors honking his vehicle’s horn, causing a disturbance. Deputies knew Jason’s license to be suspended misdemeanor in Oregon. Jason Coleman admitted to driving his vehicle while misdemeanor suspended. Coleman was issued a citation for DWS Misdemeanor 811.182.
THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On Friday, July 23, 2021 at 1:30 PM, a resident in the 4300 block of NW Glenwood Avenue in Albany reported the catalytic converter had been cut off and stolen from his vehicle, a 2000 Ford Excursion SUV, sometime during the previous night. His children allegedly heard a noise around 2:30 AM that morning which resembled a welding or cutting torch based on the description they provided to their father.
DWS MIS - On July 26, 2021 at around 4:03 pm, deputies located Jason COLEMAN, 49, driving near Highway 99 W and Lewisburg Ave. Deputies knew COLEMAN’S driver’s license status was suspended misdemeanor. They performed a traffic stop on COLEMAN’S vehicle at Burgundy Dr and Lewisburg Ave and took COLEMAN into custody. COLEMAN was later issued a citation in lieu of custody and released.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On Monday, July 26, 2021, at about 2:47 pm, deputies were dispatched to a suspicious person on the 25200 block of Kyle Roar, Monroe. A resident reported an adult female in her late 40’s to early 50’s with golden shoulder-length hair, driving a light blue 1995 style four door Honda Accord, stopped at her home and other homes in the area. She said she caught the woman in several lies and believes she could be up to criminal activity. She last saw her traveling southbound on Cherry Creek Road. Deputies drove the area and did not locate the female or the Honda.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1 VANDALISM - On Monday, July 26, 2021 at approximately 11:25 A.M., deputies spoke with a resident regarding his vehicle being broken into. He said his 2019 Honda CR-V had the rear driver’s side window and front passenger side windows broken out while it was parked at the Fitton Green Trailhead, on Friday, July 23, 2021 between approximately 5:00 P.M. and 7:30 P.M. This caused 2100.00 dollars in damage to the windows. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.
THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE - On July 26, 2021, deputies spoke with a man who told said his catalytic converter was stolen from his motorhome between July 15, 2021 and July 25, 2021. The vehicle was stored on the 5200 block of NE Elliot Circle, Corvallis.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Monday, July 26, 2021, at about 10:28 am, deputies were dispatched to a hit and run that occurred on July 24, 2021, near the Lewisburg Saddle Trailhead on NW Sulphur Springs Road, Corvallis. A woman reported finding a note on her Toyota Highlander that was from someone who witnessed her vehicle being hit by a Toyota Tacoma and left the scene. Deputies were able to locate the Tacoma and the driver claimed she did not know she hit the Highlander. Deputies assisted both parties exchange insurance information.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Sunday, July 25, 2021, around 10:00 P.M., deputies responded to 19th Street near Industrial Way for a non-injury traffic crash. A driver was south on 19th Street in her Hyundai Elantra when she stopped for a deer in the roadway. Another deer ran into the passenger side of her vehicle causing some minor denting on both passenger doors. No one was injured and the Hyundai was able to drive away.
HARASSMENT - On Sunday, July 25, 2021, at approximately 2:20 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of North 8th Street. They arrived and spoke with a female, who said she had been having an argument with her father, during which she pushed him, he pushed her back, and later was in her face. Both parties agreed to separate for the rest of the day.
THEFT 3 FROM VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3 - On Monday, June 14, 2021, at approximately 7:08 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of the Cardwell Hill Trailhead near 9200 NW Cardwell Hill Drive, Corvallis, for report of a theft from a vehicle. A female said she had gone hiking and returned to find her passenger side window broken and her purse gone. An attempt to purchase $500 in gift cards at Fred Meyer in Corvallis was made and surveillance video was obtained, but the suspect was not identifiable and is outstanding.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On July 24, 2021 at around 9:26 PM, deputies responded to a non-injury traffic crash at the intersection of 53rd Street and Harrison Blvd. Upon arrival they located a blue Nissan hatch back partially blocking the intersection. The second involved vehicle was off the roadway. Deputies contacted both drivers and determined no one was injured. They learned one of the drivers failed to yield to the oncoming traffic at the green light while trying to turn from Oak Creek Rd. north onto Walnut Blvd causing the traffic crash. The blue Nissan hatchback was towed and the other vehicle had minimal damages and was still operable.
FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER - On July 23, 2021, around 4:00 PM, deputies were dispatched to Bellfountain Road near milepost 3 for a reported hit and run. The driver reported his driver’s side mirror had been struck by a passing vehicle and was damaged. He reported the vehicle, a grey Ford pickup with a canopy continued north on Bellfountain and did not stop. He estimated the damage to be less than $2,500, so a crash report was not needed.
WARRANT ARREST - TEDDY JOHNSTON, 34, TURNED HIMSELF IN AT BCCF ON  A FTA WARRANT FOR CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2, INTERFERING WITH A PEACE OFFICER. A NEW COURT DATE PROVIDED AND THE SUBJECT WAS RELEASED.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 23, 2021 at approximately 2:57 PM, LYTH, Robert James, 24, of Salem, turned himself into the jail on a warrant for FTA Failure to perform duties of a driver. A new court date and time was given to appear in court.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On July 23, 2021, at around 2:18 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 31200 block of Highway 99W for a reported trespass. A woman reported a neighbor had informed her an unknown man was sitting on her front porch. The man reported he was walking from somewhere and really tired. He was given a courtesy transport to Corvallis.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On July 23, 2021 at approximately 5:20 AM, deputies were dispatched to the area of Columbia Ave and Azalea Dr., Adair, for a parking complaint. When they arrived they found a Mazda SUV parked on the right shoulder near the intersection. This portion of Azalea Dr has parking on the left shoulder only due to it being a narrow roadway. There was approximately 12 feet between the Mazda and the nearest, correctly parked vehicle. This was causing vehicles on Azalea Dr to have to weave between the Mazda and other vehicles. Deputies went to the nearby residences and spoke to the occupants. No one knew who the vehicle belonged to. Deputies were unable to reach the registered owner by phone and towed the vehicle after exhausting all other options.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On 7/22/2021 at around 8:15 PM, deputies spoke with a Monroe resident about his tenant making threats toward him and his property. He said the man sent around 500 text messages to his phone today threatening to burn his house down and up to killing him. Deputies explained to him he could apply for a stalking order and eviction notice if he chose to.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On July 22, 2021, at 12:18 AM, deputies were dispatched to the 25900 block of Lee Road in Monroe for a possible prowler. Upon arrival, the caller told deputies her back patio motion light went off twice, and it doesn`t normally go off. Deputies searched the area and did not locate anyone.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 21, 2021 at approximately 9:16 am, DORMAN, Curtis, 18, turned himself in at the Benton County Jail and indicated that he had an outstanding warrant for having failed to appear at the Benton County Circuit Court. A valid warrant was confirmed and served: FTA - Dis Con II, bail $10,000. DORMAN was released after having signed a release agreement for Benton County Circuit Court, which was forwarded to the court.
UUV; POSS STOLEN VEHICLE; WARRANT ARREST - On July 21, 2021, deputies arrested STANTON JOSEPH KITTEL, 38, on a confirmed Benton County Circuit Court felony caution warrant after contacting him while sleeping on a confirmed stolen motorcycle (Lincoln County S.O.) at Pettibone Drive near Independence Highway. He was also charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle. He was lodged at the Benton County Jail, and a Probable Cause affidavit was submitted.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On July 19, 2021 at around 7:31 PM, deputies responded to the 23700 block of Woods Creek Road and contacted a group of individuals who were attempting to establish residency and squat on a woman’s property. Deputies spoke with the squatters and advised them they had 24 hours to vacate the property or they would be arrested for trespassing. Deputies checked the area on July 21st and determined they had left the property.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On July 19, 2021 at approximately 3:08 pm, jail deputies ran YOUNG, Steven, 26, and learned he had warrants for: Linn County Circuit Court, PV - Burg I, no bail; and Lebanon Justice Court, Trespass II. The warrants were served and a hold was placed for Linn County Jail, pending transportation.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 7/17/2021 at around 7:30 PM, Vehicle #1 was traveling northbound on NW Springhill Dr. near MP3. The vehicle went of the east side of the roadway, overcorrected and went off the east side of the roadway through trees and brush. Vehicle #1 ended up around 100 feet down an embankment. A tow company arrived and towed the vehicle to their lot due to the damage from the crash.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Saturday, July 17, 2021 at about 1:15 pm, deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on West Hills Road near N 9th Street. The vehicle had left the roadway and struck a fence, damaging a large portion. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the driver, who said he was traveling east on West Hills when his tire blew out causing him to leave the roadway. His vehicle left the south side of West Hills striking a fence in the 900 block of West Hills Rd. His vehicle was driven from the scene.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 1:42 PM, a resident in the 32900 block of Fern Road reported a number of items had been taken from her stepson`s vehicle while it was parked in her driveway sometime earlier that day between 12:00 AM and 12:00 PM. The items consisted of an LED light bar worth $300, a couple of unknown brand/value airsoft guns, and some costumes of unknown value.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 20, 2021 at about 10:30 PM, deputies stopped arrested Justin Russell, 45, on Highway 20 near milepost 6, for 3 outstanding warrants.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On July 20, 2021, deputies were dispatched to a trespass call in the 5700 block of NW Wintercreek Dr. They contacted a male sleeping in his car. He had parked his 2006 Blue in color Chevy HHR in the grass adjacent to the driveway. He was trespassed and he left the area.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On July 20, 2021, deputies encountered a non-injury traffic crash at NW 53rd and Reservoir Rd. A red Dodge Stratus rear ended a Kia Sedona mini-van. The vehicles were moved from the roadway and the driver of the Kia was evaluated by Corvallis EMT’s.
WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, around 2:30 A.M., deputies responded to the 32800 block of Fern Road for an argument. Brenden Getty, 21, was issued a citation for his Philomath municipal Court warrant (FTC-DUII).
DEPOSIT LIGHTED MATERIAL-LAND/HWY LITTERING - On Monday, July 19, 2021, around 11:15 P.M., Jeremiah Anderson, 19, of Boise, was arrested for throwing a lighted object from a vehicle. A citation was issued.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On July 19, 2021, deputies were dispatched to Botkin Road for a single vehicle crash. The driver stated she fell asleep and crash her 2001, Silver Toyota Rav Prime into a roadside fence and tree. Her husband transported her to the hospital and her vehicle was towed.
THEFT 1 AGGRAVATED - On July 19, 2021, deputies spoke with a female regarding a theft of her household property by a moving company. The theft occurred April 29, 2021. The property was to be moved to Weatherford, TX, but never arrived. Deputies were able to track down her property to a storage facility in Vancouver, WA. The owners flew there to retrieve their property.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On Friday, July 16, 2021 at 2:32 PM, deputies contacted a man in the parking lot of Peavy Arboretum. He claimed he had been hiking in the area and got lost trying to find his way back to where his vehicle was parked at the trailhead on Highway 99W across from the Adair Village Market. The man was walking the wrong direction and exhibited signs of having recently used controlled substances. His story seemed suspicious given his extensive criminal history and the significant number of recent car break-ins and other thefts in the area.
VEHICLE RECOVERED FOR OTHER AGENCY - On Friday, July 16, 2021 at 1:08 PM, deputies located an unoccupied gold, 1997 Toyota Corolla sedan, backed into a ditch in the 28700 block of Highway 34. The vehicle had been stolen out of Corvallis a few days prior. Deputies assisted CPD Officers by photographing the vehicle and processing it for evidence.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On July 24, 2021, at around 1:26 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 4900 block of NW Fir Place for a report of criminal mischief. A resident reported scratches on both sides of his car while it was parked.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, July 23, 2021 at 10:57 AM, deputies contacted AUDRIAUNA HAGEMAN, 28, as she was walking westbound on Philomath Boulevard near 53rd Street in Corvallis. Deputies arrested HAGEMAN for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, then cited and released her with a court date in lieu of custody at the request of the Benton County Jail.
RECKLESS DRIVING; DWS FEL; ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On 7/22/2021 at around 5:00 PM, deputies arrived for a single vehicle rollover crash on Soap Creek Road near Govier Place. Kimberly Yancey, 39, was traveling northbound on Soap Creek Road and went into a corner too fast, over corrected and rolled her vehicle in the east side of the roadway. Yancey had multiple injuries and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for an evaluation. Deputies issued Yancey citations for DWS-Felony, Reckless Driving, Failure to maintain lane of travel and Open Container. Her vehicle was towed due to the damage from the crash.
VIOL RESTRAINING ORDER; FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at about 2:30 PM, deputies went to the 2500 block of NW Coolidge Way in Corvallis to serve a civil paper and subsequently arrested JEVON TAYLOR SMITH, 30, on four outstanding Benton County Circuit Court warrants and for Violation of Restraining Order. Deputies transported Jevon to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
ACCIDENT OTHER INJURY - On Monday, July 19, 2021, at about 2:12 pm, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Highway 99W, Milepost 95, Corvallis. A 2001 Buick LeSabre was southbound on Highway 99W when the driver crossed over the fog line into the gravel for an unknown reason, attempted to correct, then over corrected, resulting in rolling the vehicle once and into a utility pole, then landing in the ditch on the eastside. The driver was extracted from her vehicle and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis. The Buick was towed from the scene.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1; BURGLARY 1 - On July 17, 2021, around 4:20 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 30800 block of Bellfountain Road for a reported Burglary. The caller reported when he and his wife returned home from their vacation, their back door had been kicked in. There is currently no suspect information.
THEFT 1 - On Saturday, July 17, 2021, deputies received confirmation from OSU Research Forest they had a utility trailer stolen from their Peavy Arboretum property. No suspect information at this time.
BURGLARY 2; THEFT 3; UUV - On Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at about 2:53 pm, deputies received a phone call from a resident in the 8700 block of NW Peavy Arboretum Rd, Corvallis, in regards to reporting his garage had been broken into. A Honda CB360 motorcycle and a Freud Router were stolen. No suspect information at this time.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 6, 2021 at about 1:00 p.m., deputies issued Russell Irish, 47, a citation in lieu of custody for a Benton County Failure to Appear warrant for the charge of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
FELON IN POSS OF RESTRICTED; FEL DELIVER METH; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2; TAMPER W/ EVIDENCE - On July 11, 2021, at around 3:30pm, deputies observed a black Infiniti G35 with two male occupants parked on property posted "No Trespassing". The Infiniti made several evasive maneuvers, but was later located on a private farm. The driver, later identified as Matthew Williams, 42, of Dallas, threw a switchblade knife and attempted to flee on foot. Around 6.14oz of Methamphetamine and drug distribution paraphernalia were found in Williams’ possession. Williams was lodged at the Benton County Jail for DCS-Meth, Criminal Trespass 2, Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, and Tampering with Evidence. His passenger, Keary Rickard, 29, of Monmouth, was also booked into Benton County Jail for DCS-Meth and Criminal Trespass 2.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Monday, July 19, 2021, at approximately 9:48 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of 4455 NE Highway 20, Corvallis for report of two males trespassing. Dispatch advised employees only wanted the subjects told not to return. Deputies contacted two men walking west on Highway 20 near milepost 2. Both were intoxicated and admitted to being on the property but said they would not go back. Deputies gave both subjects a ride to a motel at their request.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 19, 2021 at around 5:30 pm, deputies contacted William Steen, 36, in the 2100 block of NE Hwy 20, Corvallis. STEEN had a cite and release, Albany Municipal Court Warrant for Contempt of Court. STEEN was issued a citation for his warrant and he was released.
THEFT 3; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On Monday, July 19, 2021, at approximately 5:51 PM, deputies responded to the 5400 block of NE Highway 20 for report of an Unlawful Entry to a Motor Vehicle. Deputies spoke to a female who told deputies her orange backpack style purse had been taken off her passenger seat in her unlocked vehicle sometime between approximately 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM that day. There are no suspects or leads.
ABANDONED VEHICLE - On Monday, July 19, 2021, at about 09:12 am, deputies were dispatched to illegal camping on NW Sulphur Springs Road, milepost 1, Corvallis. A blue 1972 Chevrolet pickup, with a homemade camp trailer made from a pickup camper, were parked in an emergency vehicle turnaround area. The camper appeared to be unoccupied. Deputies placed a yellow Notice to Tow, upon the back window of the trailer.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday July 18, 2021, around 2:15 AM, deputies were parked near the Super 8 in Corvallis observing traffic when they saw a Grey sedan pass in front of them traveling eastbound on Second Street at a very high rate of speed in the 25 MPH zone. Deputies stopped Darwyn Dwayne Reimann, 21, of Lebanon, who had two warrants out of Albany Municipal Court. Deputies cited Reimann for his warrants, as well as DWS violation and for driving 55 MPH in a 25 MPH zone..
PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANT - On July 18, 2021 at about 12:00 am, deputies were dispatched to the area of Springhill and Scenic to perform a welfare check on a female walking on the side of the highway. Deputies contacted Jennifer Anne Gillet, 36, of Bend, who was attempting to walk to Corvallis. Gillet had a confirmed Marion County Parole Violation warrant for Dangerous Drugs. Deputies arrested Gillet and transported her to the Benton County Jail where she was given reporting instructions by jail staff.
MAIL THEFT - On July 17, 2021, at around 10:57 am, deputies were dispatched to the 1200 block of NW Panorama Dr for a reported mail theft. The resident reported several pieces of mail were stolen from her mailbox at some point during the afternoon of July 15. No current suspects.
FORGERY 1; IDENTITY THEFT - On July 16, 2021, around 6:00 PM, deputies arrested Isaac James Granberry, 27, had forged a signature on a safety plan form for his employment in Corvallis. Granberry was cited for Forgery in the First Degree and Identity Theft.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On July 16, 2021 around 4:10 PM, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Greenberry Road and Highway 99 W for a motor vehicle crash. Neither driver had any injuries. A driver was slowing down and miscalculated the distance needed to stop before crashing into a flatbed trailer. The driver stated he crashed into the flatbed trailer at 5 MPH. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On 7/15/2021 at around 5:13 PM, Vehicle #1 was traveling westbound on NE Highway 20 approaching NE Asbahr Ave. Vehicle #2 was in front of Vehicle #1. Vehicle #2 stopped behind a vehicle taking a left hand turn onto NE Asbahr Ave. Vehicle #1 failed to notice Vehicle #2 and vehicles in front of it were stopped on the roadway behind the turning vehicle. Vehicle #1 ran into the back of vehicle #2. Vehicle #1 had to be towed from the scene due to the damage from the crash. The driver of Vehicle 1 was transported by the Corvallis Fire Department to Good Samaritan Hospital for an evaluation.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On July 15, 2021, a female reported both passenger windows were broken from her vehicle while parked at Fitton Green. No property was stolen during the incident.
IDENTITY THEFT - On July 15, 2021, deputies spoke with a resident regarding a loan taken out in her name that has gone to collections. She told deputies she believed her identity was stolen during the recent sale of a home.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On July 15, 2021 at 5:02 a.m., deputies stopped on Highway 99W just south of Camp Adair Road to check on a vehicle with the hazard lights activated. The driver had just struck a deer and his vehicle sustained a shattered windshield as well as body damage. The car was not safe to drive and he arranged a tow through insurance for his car.
BURGLARY 1; THEFT 1; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On 7/14/2021 at around 5:00 PM, deputies spoke with a resident by phone about someone breaking her back door of her residence in the 26800 block of Highway 99W, and stealing a jar of quarters and a Browning BLR Rifle from the bedroom.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 14, 2021 at around 12:58 AM, deputies made a traffic stop on a dark colored Lexus SUV near Highway 20 MP 47. The driver, David ANTONICH, 38, of Molalla, had two warrants for his arrest. One out of Molalla Municipal Court for failing to appear on a Fail to appear in the second degree charge. The second was out of Multnomah County Circuit Court for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (Misdemeanor). During the arrest, deputies located a methamphetamine pipe and other contraband inside ANTONICH`s vehicle. ANTONICH was subsequently issued criminal citations to appear on his warrants and issued a citation for less than 2 grams of methamphetamine
FALSE INFO TO POLICE OFFICER; WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, July 11, 2021, at about 5:46 pm, deputies stopped a white Ford Taurus for failure to display plates. The passenger, Michael Wehling, 28, of Newport, had three confirmed warrants from Lincoln County Circuit Court. While attempting to identify Wehling, he gave deputies a false name and date of birth. The driver was given a verbal warning for her violation, Wehling was transported and lodged at Lincoln County Jail, and was cited for Giving False Info to a Peace Officer.
BURGLARY 1 - On July 11, 2021, around 4:45 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block of Vineyard Drive, Corvallis, for a reported burglary. The caller reported the front door of a neighboring residence appeared to have been broken into. Deputies secured the front door by screwing additional screws into the door and frame.
BURGLARY 1; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 9:49 AM, deputies were dispatched to a burglary which had just occurred in the 6000 block of NW Vineyard Drive in Corvallis. A neighbor confronted two males entering the house at that location. The males were with a silver Toyota 4Runner. The property is in a state of disrepair and contains a large amount of items of insignificant value. Deputies secured the residence and called the asset management company who currently owns it, advising them of the criminal activity.
LITTERING - On Monday, July 5, 2021 at approximately 1:40 P.M., deputies were dispatched to speak with a resident who lives in the 100 block of South 7th Street, Monroe, for a complaint of Offensive Littering. The resident told deputies someone had dumped grass clippings over the fence from behind her house. She asked deputies to speak with the person who did this and warn them about Offensive Littering. Deputies warned a juvenile.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On July 16, 2021 around 11:30PM, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Lewisburg Avenue and Mountain View Drive, Corvallis, for a single motor vehicle crash with no injuries. The driver said he crashed his white Ford Ranger into the ditch. He was issued a citation for operating motor vehicle while using mobile electronic device and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
VIOL RESTRAINING ORDER - On July 16, 2021 at about 9:00 pm, deputies arrested Alden Kimball Gray III, 38, on July 9, 2021 for a restraining order violation. He was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was lodged.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 7/1621 AT APPROXIMATELY 9:35 PM, SAVAGE, MARCY, 48, TURNED HERSELF INTO THE BCCF JAIL LOCATED AT 190 NW 4TH STREET ON A WARRANT OUT OF PHILOMATH MUNI FOR FTC IMPROPER USE 911, BAIL $5K. SAVAGE WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
MAIL THEFT - On July 16, 2021, at around 2:00pm, deputies were dispatched to the 8900 block of NW Wynoochee Dr for a reported mail theft. A resident reported that someone took his mail the previous day (July 15) at around 4:00 pm. The mail was later found abandoned by the U.S. Postal Service and was returned to the resident. No current suspects.
MAIL THEFT - On July 16, 2021, at around 2:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 8200 block of NW Wynoochee Dr for a mail theft. A resident reported that her incoming mail was stolen from her mailbox the previous day (July 15) between 2:00pm and 5:00pm. The stolen mail was comprised of "junk mail". No current suspects.
MAIL THEFT - On Friday, July 16, 2021 at 8:21 AM, deputies were dispatched to contact a resident in the 8800 block of NW Takena Drive in Corvallis by phone regarding possible mail theft. The resident reported the previous day around 4:00 PM he heard a vehicle pull away from their mailbox at the end of their driveway after hearing voices talking. He found the flap of their mailbox was in the down position and only one letter was left inside. They were unsure if any mail had actually been taken.
MAIL THEFT - On July 15, 2021, around 6:15 PM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a resident by phone. She had discovered mail near her driveway in the 8500 block of Oak Creek Drive, Corvallis. She reported none of the mail belonged to her, and most of the mail had been opened. Deputies retrieved the mail and noticed most of the addresses on the mail were from Cardwell Hill Drive. Deputies will attempt to deliver the mail back to the addresses on the mail as time and staffing allows.
WARRANT ARREST - On Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 4:38 PM, deputies contacted SABRINA FALLIN, 40, in a parking lot in the 1110 block of NW 9th Street in Corvallis. FALLIN was sitting in a silver Volkswagen Passat sedan. Deputies arrested FALLIN after Dispatch advised me she had numerous outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants. FALLIN was transported to the Benton County Jail where she was booked and lodged on her warrants.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On July 15, 2021, John Nelson, 38, was ran prior to being released from BCJ. Nelson had an Albany Muni court warrant for crim tres 1. Albany sent a court date and subject was released.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On July 15, 2021, at around 3:38 pm, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of NE Grange Ave and NE Pettibone Dr. The driver reported he crashed his tan 2001 Honda Accord when a yellowjacket flew into the car. A road sign was destroyed and the Honda was damaged, but drivable. No apparent injuries.
THEFT 3; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at about 3:30, deputies arrived in the 4500 block of SW West Hills Road to speak with a person who wanted to report a crime. He reported that court documents and a jar of DMT was taken. The suspect denied stealing anything.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 9:43 AM, deputies were dispatched to contact a man by phone regarding an incident of criminal mischief which occurred in the 2600 Block of NW Highway 20. Someone cut the twine on 42 large bales of hay in a field at this location sometime between Sunday, July 11 and Monday, July 12. The farmer told deputies he would have to rebail all of the hay which was possible, but costly due to how time-consuming it is.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE - On July 14, 2021, deputies were dispatched to Sulphur Springs Road between MP 1 and the saddle for a suspicious vehicle. There they located a blue 1972 Chevy truck and camper on a utility trailer. The occupant, Kimberly Noelle Yancey, 39, had an Oregon State Parole Board warrant for her arrest. Yancey was arrested and transported to jail without incident.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On July 14, 2021 at about 5:50 A.M., deputies were dispatched to the 26500 block of Highway 99W in Monroe for a report of a suspicious vehicle. They arrived and contacted a female at her vehicle. She had ran out of gas so deputies took her gas can to the RFP Store and purchased gas for her so she could complete her drive home to Eugene.
FALSE INFO TO POLICE OFFICER; WARRANT ARREST - On July 13, 2021 at around 11:36 pm, deputies drove through Hyak Park for an area check for closed hours. They located a silver 1994 Honda Accord and contacted Selina Ford-Blackburn, 36. Ford-Blackburn initially gave a fictitious name but her real identity was quickly discovered. Ford-Blackburn had a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for false information. She was issued a citation in lieu of custody for her warrant and issued an additional citation for ORS.162.385 giving false information to a peace officer in connection with a citation or warrant.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at approximately 1:46 pm, WATTS, Anna, 23, turned herself in at the Benton County Jail and indicated she had an outstanding warrant for have failed to appear at court. Valid warrants were located and served as follows: Benton Circuit Court, FTA - Theft II; FTA - Assault IV; FTA Theft III; 5 FTA - Trespass II; FTA - Theft II; and Linn Justice Court, FTA - Trespass II.
DWS MIS; WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, July 12, 2021, around 11:20 P.M., deputies stopped Richard Sather, 31, on West Hills Road near Timian Street on a red motorcycle. Sather was arrested for Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor and three Benton County Circuit Court warrants for Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor.
DWS MIS - On Sunday, July 11, 2021, at about 11:30 PM, deputies arrested Justin Jones, 37, of Terrebonne, for Driving While Suspended- Misdemeanor, in the area of Highway 20 near mile post 7.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 7/9/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:35 PM, HUBBARD, JERMAINE, 35, OF TOLEDO, TURNED HIMSELF INTO THE BCCF JAIL LOCATED AT 190 NW 4TH STREET ON A WARRANT FOR FTA DUII, BAIL $3K. THE WARRANT WAS CONFIRMED WITH DISPATCH AND HUBBARD WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON JULY 9, 2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 4:25 PM, WELLS, ROBERT, 74 OF BELFAIR, WA, REPORTED TO THE FRONT DOORS OF THE JAIL IN CORVALLIS, FOR A BENTON COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT CITE TO APPEAR WARRANT DUII, RECKLESS DRIVING. DEPUTIES ISSUED A NEW COURT DATE AND HE WAS RELEASED FROM THE FRONT LOBBY DOORS OF THE JAIL.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On July 8, 2021 at approximately 2:55 pm, DODGION, Christian, 54, of Vancouver, WA, turned himself into the jail on a warrant for FTA-Possession of Meth. A new court date and time was issued to appear in court.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - MICHAEL MEDINA, 45, TURNED HIMSELF IN AT BCCF ON 07-08-2021 @ APPROXIMATELY 2:45 PM. MEDIAN WAS RAN BY RECORDS AND TWO DRUG COURT TREATMENT WARRANTS WERE LOCATED: PCS METH (FEL) AND ASSAULT IV, PCS METH. MEDINA WAS CITED AND DIRECTED TO REPORT TO NEXT DRUG TREATMENT COURT.
RESISTING ARREST; DUII DRUGS; RECKLESS ENDANGERING - On July 7, 2021, around 10:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 24400 block of Highway 200, Monroe, to perform a welfare check. The caller reported a female in her early 20s came to her residence and asked to use a phone and was acting strangely, appearing to be under the influence. The caller said the female had left in a smaller looking golden sedan with damage on the right side. Deputies stopped a vehicle matching that description that was driven by Kitana Annabelle Rodriguez, 24. Rodriguez was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (ORS 813.070), Resisting Arrest (ORS 162315), and two counts of Reckless Endangering Another Person (ORS 163.195).
WARRANT ARREST - Jim Fox Jr, 42, reported to the Benton County jail on June 18, 2021 for a Benton Circuit Court Warrant for FTA assault IV / bail $3000-00. Fox was issued court date and released.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 12, 2021, deputies stopped a red, 2010 Chevy Impala for multiple traffic violations on Hwy 34 at the Hwy 34 Bypass and later arrested the driver, James Robert Rosenberry, 26, for a Linn County FTA meth warrant. Rosenberry had imitation drugs in his pocket and 1.58 g tpw meth in the vehicle. Deputies released the vehicle to his passenger and transported Rosenberry to the Sheriff`s Office where he was cited and released.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Sunday, July 11, 2021, deputies were dispatched to Marys Peak Road near milepost 1 for a single vehicle crash. They arrived and saw a black, 2014 Dodge Dart down an embankment. The driver said she swerved to avoid hitting a rock. There were no reported injuries and the vehicle was towed.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On Thursday, July 8, 2021 at about 3:10 PM, a man went to the front door of a home located on the 31600 block of Fern Road. Samson was carrying a metal detector and said his boss’s wife had lost her gold wedding ring in the tall grass. He asked the resident if he had a gold ring to calibrate his metal detector. The man was open carrying a small handgun on his side. The resident retrieved his loaded shotgun and asked the man to leave, which he did. Deputies contacted the man with the metal detector and validated his story; he was advised to use better judgment next time.
WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at about 7:50 PM, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a Toyota Corolla on NW 4th Street near NW Jackson Avenue. They contacted the driver and informed him of the stop. The driver, Robert Murray, 25, had a confirmed Benton County Circuit Court warrant for Unlawful Possession of Heroin. In addition, the passenger provided her information at the time of stop. Megan Stripland, 26, had a confirmed Benton County Circuit Court warrant for Failure to Appear - DUII and a confirmed Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for Failure to Appear on a criminal citation. Murray and Stripland were issued citations for their warrants and released.
DWS MIS - On July 10, 2021, at around 8:50 pm, deputies initiated a citizen contact on a white BMW 328i parked near the intersection of Independence Highway and Highway 20. They later issued the driver, Angela Hughes, 38, a criminal citation for Driving While Suspended - Misdemeanor. Hughes was given a ride home by a friend.
THEFT 1 - On July 9, 2021, at around 4:00 pm, deputies responded to the 3000 block of NE Garden Ave for a reported Burglary. A resident reported her landlord came into her apartment without notice and took a jar containing around $1500. The landlord refused to return the money until the resident cleaned the apartment. The landlord eventually agreed to return the money.
UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICL; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On Friday, July 9 at 3:15 PM, deputies were dispatched to the south parking lot of the Benton County Fairgrounds for a vehicle which had been broken into. A couple left their burgundy 2019 Subaru Impreza wagon parked there from July 4 to July 9 while they went on a long-distance bike ride to the coast. The sun roof had been smashed out, but nothing was taken.
BURGLARY 2; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 1 - On Friday, July 9, 2021, at about 2:20 pm, deputies were dispatched to a burglary on the 27700 block of Highway 99W, Corvallis. The resident reported his home was broken into and his personal property was tossed about, but nothing was taken. A front window was found tampered with and a backdoor was left open. No suspect has been identified at this time.
FRAUDULENT USE CREDIT CARD - On July 9, 2021, at around 1:06 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 5200 block of SW Country Club Road for a reported incident involving fraud. The resident reported someone used his credit card number to purchase over $1400 in merchandise from an online retailer. No current suspects.
PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANT - On Friday, July 9, 2021 at 8:34 AM, deputies contacted ANTHONY OVERHOLSER, 35, in a camp on the northeast side of the old tree farm at 765 SW 53rd Street in Corvallis. OVERHOLSER had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. OVERHOLSER was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On 7/8/2021 at around 6:05 PM, Vehicle #1 was traveling northbound on Independence Road near MP4. A mechanical issue happened with his motorcycle and the engine blew up and dumped oil out the bottom of the crankcase coating the rear wheel. He went down on the roadway after trying to stabilize the bike with an oil covered rear tire. No other vehicles were involved with the crash. A friend came and got the motorcycle. The rider was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with injuries due to the crash by the Albany Fire Department.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 8, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the Benton County Sheriff`s Office Parole and Probation lobby to contact ASHLEY MONTGOMERY, 36, who had confirmed misdemeanor warrants out of Albany and Lebanon Municipal Courts. They arrived at about 11:35 a.m., and contacted MONTGOMERY who knew about the warrants and was speaking with her P.O. Deputies completed citations for MONTGOMERY for both courts and issued her citations in lieu of custody.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On July 8, 2021, at around 6:48 am, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at Highway 99W Milepost 100. The silver 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier was south on Highway 99W when the driver crossed the centerline and struck a freight truck. No apparent injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The driver of the Cavalier was issued several citations.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 8, 2021 at about 2:43 A.M., deputies went to the 27700 block of Cherry Creek Road in Monroe for a welfare check. DAWSON JAMES EDWARD KING, 25, had a misdemeanor warrant out of Benton County for FTA Criminal Mischief II, Bail $3,000.00. He was cited in lieu of custody. He was also warned about making noise so late at night.
ACCIDENT OTHER NO INJ - On July 7, 2021 at around 10:15 pm, deputies contacted a man near the 6100 block of Highway 99W north of Corvallis. He had just struck a deer that had run across the road and was pulled off to the shoulder. The deer caused significant damage to the front of his 2012 Honda Fit. He was able to drive the car home.
THEFT 1 DECEPTION - On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, deputies were dispatched to contact a resident concerning a theft. He told deputies he received a phone call from the "US MARSHALS"" claiming his vehicle was used in a money laundering crime in Texas. He said he went to the Junction City Safeway and purchased 4 gift cards totaling $1100 and read the numbers to the person on the phone to avoid being prosecuted for the alleged crime. He said he realized he was involved in a scam and stopped communicating with the person on the phone. He said he knew his money was gone but wanted to report the incident.
WARRANT ARREST - On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at about 2:10 pm, deputies arrested Stephen Paul Foster, 21, at the Benton County Sheriff`s Office on a Benton County warrant for reckless driving. Foster was cited in lieu of custody and released.
RECKLESS BURNING - On July 7, 2021, deputies found a stack of documents belonging to a resident, burning in front of her residence on the 27100 block of Bellfounatin Road. She said she was not aware of how this may have happened.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, around 1:30 A.M., a Volkswagen Jetta was south on Highway 99 near Ryals Avenue when a deer crossed the road. The Volkswagen struck the deer causing front end damage to the vehicle. The driver and her passenger were not injured. The Volkswagen was towed.
POSS METH (MISD - 2 GRAMS OR MORE); FAIL TO REGISTER SEX OFFENDER; PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANT - On July 7, 2021 at around 12:35 pm, deputies located Stanley Pomaikai, 38, in the passenger seat of a ford taurus parked on the 1900 block of SW 3rd Street, Corvallis. Pomaikai had a statewide felony parole violation warrant. Pomaikai was also out of compliance on his sex offender registry. While taking Pomaikai into custody, they located a criminal amount of methamphetamine in his pocket. Pomaikai was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked on his warrant. Deputies issued Pomaikai criminal citations for failing to register as a sex offender and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at about 4:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to West Hills Road near Bailey Street for a vehicle crash. They arrived and spoke with the driver, who stated she hit a deer. The deer survived and ran off after the crash. The vehicle was drivable with damage to the right front headlight assembly, right front quarter panel and right side passenger door.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, deputies were dispatched to Highway 20 near milepost 49 for a single vehicle crash. They arrived and spoke with the driver, who said he was traveling East on Highway 20 when he fell asleep, crashing down the embankment. He was uninjured and the truck was towed.
POSS METH (LESS THAN 2 GRAMS); WARRANT ARREST - On July 6, 2021 at around 12:06 AM, deputies made a traffic stop on a white Ford Taurus in the 1800 block of Main Street in Philomath. The driver, Darrell THOMPSON, 65, was suspended violation and had a cite and release warrant out of Benton County Circuit Court for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. THOMPSON also had two active warrants out of Linn County Circuit Court for FTA Delivery of methamphetamine, and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Deputies located 1.81 grams of methamphetamine on THOMPSON`S person when taking him into custody. THOMPSON was issued a citation for his Benton County Warrant and issued citations for DWS Violation, and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (less than 2 grams.) He was transported to the Linn County Jail and booked on his two Linn County Circuit Court warrants.
RECKLESS DRIVING - On July 5, 2021 at about 11:36 pm, deputies were dispatched to the fairgrounds parking lot for a report of a red Jeep doing donuts in the parking lot. Deputies contacted a male who admitted to spinning his Jeep around in the gravel and was trespassed from the parking lot.
BURGLARY 1; THEFT 2 - On Tuesday, July 5, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of NW Kouns Drive for a burglary in progress. They arrived and located a male identified as JEREMY ANDREW RIBORDY, 39. RIBORDY was at the residence unlawfully, entered the residence and stole multiple items from the home before he fell asleep on the back yard grass. RIBORDY was transported by Albany medics to the Albany General Hospital. Deputies issued RIBORDY a citation for Burglary in the First Degree and Theft in the Second Degree.
DWS MIS - On Monday July 5, 2021 at about 12:30 AM, deputies stopped RICHARD ALLEN SATHER, 31, on Highway 34 near Marys Peak Road. SATHER was cited and released in the field for Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor).
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 1 - On July 4, 2021, around 6:30 PM, deputies were driving on Avery Avenue, Corvallis, when they observed a male walking south on the railroad tracks. The man said he did not know it was illegal to walk on the railroad tracks. He said he was out for a walk and did not want to walk through the crowded park. Deputies advised him he could not walk on the railroad tracks because it was trespassing.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Sunday, July 4, 2021, at about 11:40 am, deputies were dispatched to a motorcycle crash on Kings Valley Hwy, near milepost 23, Monmouth. The rider was traveling southbound on Kings Valley Highway on his 2021 Harley Davidson Dyna, when he lost control of his motorcycle while negotiating a left curve in the road. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital and his motorcycle was rode away from the scene by a friend.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, July 3, 2021, at about 2:59 pm, deputies stopped Barry Bellu, 58, on the southbound roadway of Highway 99W, milepost 80 for Improper Position on a Highway, and Unlawful Hitchhiking. Bellu had two confirmed warrants from Benton County Circuit Court. Bellu was cited for his warrants, given a verbal warning for his violations, and released on 9th Street in Corvallis.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 7/2/2021 at around 4:21 PM, Vehicle #1 was traveling northbound on NW Springhill Drive approaching Milepost 3. Vehicle #1 drove straight off the roadway when it came to a right hand curve. Vehicle #1 went into a farm field with Filbert Trees in it. Vehicle #1 destroyed at least 8 trees, and was leaking diesel fuel into the field from the fuel tanks. The driver said he momentarily closed his eyes before driving off the roadway. Deputies cited him for failing to maintain his lane of travel and careless driving. The truck owners were speaking with the property owner about the damage to his trees and property. A tow company arrived to tow the vehicle due to the damage from the crash.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday July 2, 2021 at about 4:25 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle on Highway 34 near Highway 501 for a traffic violation. Dispatch advised the driver, COREY RICHARD MARKER, 44, of Lebanon, had an outstanding warrant out of Lebanon Municipal Court. MARKER was issued a citation in the field and cited and released.
FRAUDULENT USE CREDIT CARD; THEFT 1; COMPUTER CRIME - On Friday, July 2, 2021 at 10:12 AM, a resident on the 24100 block of Gellatly Way reported she had been the victim of an online scam. A male who spoke with an unknown foreign accent called her and claimed he worked for Amazon, providing partial details from her account to make it seem as if he was authentic. The suspect(s) were able to obtain approximately $1,500 via charges made to her credit card. She was working with her credit card company to have the money refunded. The suspect(s) are possibly from the African nation of Ghana.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, July 2, 2021 at approximately 12:45 A.M., deputies stopped Robert Day, 27, on Van Buren Avenue near 2nd Street after a traffic violation. They learned Day had a confirmed cite and release warrant through Albany Municipal Court for Theft III, Bail 00. Deputies cited and released Day for the warrant and also cited him for DWS violation, Driving Uninsured, and Fail to Renew Registration.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On 7/1/2021 at around 4:02 PM, vehicle #1 was traveling westbound on Highway 20 approaching NE Pilkington Ave. Vehicle #2 was behind vehicle #1. Vehicle #3 was stopped on Highway 20 waiting to turn left into his driveway on the 4000 block of NE Highway 20. Vehicle #4 was stopped behind vehicle #3. Vehicle #1 failed to see vehicle #3 and 4 were stopped waiting for the traffic to clear so vehicle #3 could turn. Vehicle #1 ran into the back of vehicle #4 causing it to run into the rear of vehicle #3. Vehicle #2 also failed to see the cars stopped and drove off the right side of the roadway to keep from hitting the other vehicle and ran into a power pole and knocked down the 45 MPH sign. Vehicles #1, 2 and 4 were towed from the scene due to damage from the crashes.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT 2 - On July 1, 2021, at around 11:52 am, deputies were dispatched to the Benton County Jail for an assault. Inmate Joshua Scott, 38, reported Inmate Luke Ludwig, 35, attacked him. Scott and Ludwig each claimed the other provoked them. Scott had a small scrape on his neck, but did not want to press charges. Scott and Ludwig were each issued criminal citations for Disorderly Conduct 2.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On July 1, 2021 at about 6:50 am, deputies responded to a non-injury traffic crash on Highway 99W near milepost 96. A driver was north on HWY 99W drinking a cup of coffee. He said he took his eyes off the road while putting his coffee back into the truck’s cup holder. He drifted off the right shoulder into the ditch, hit two mailboxes, a power pole and then a Monroe phone company phone box. The driver was cited for driving while suspended and no insurance. Monroe Phone Company was contacted along with Pacific Power and the owners of the mailboxes.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1; RECKLESS DRIVING; ELUDE VEHICLE - On July 1, 2021, deputies arrested BRYCE EDWARD ADAMS, 35, of Lebanon, for Attempt to elude/vehicle, Reckless driving and Criminal mischief in the first degree after attempting to stop him for traffic violations on 35th Street at Philomath Boulevard. He crashed into a blueberry orchard on Riverside Drive in Linn County, causing substantial damage to a gate and other property, then ran from the vehicle and was located several hours later. All criminal charges for this incident have been charged in Linn County.
THEFT 3 - On July 1, 2021 at around 1:30 am, deputies were dispatched to the Benton County Fairgrounds campground for a report of a theft. A resident said someone entered his travel trailer while he was doing laundry at the onsite premises at the campground. He said he later heard voices by the arena and in the camping area of people arguing saying "you need to give it back."
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On 6/30/2021 at around 4:56 PM, Vehicle #1 was traveling southbound on Independence Rd. approaching NW Springhill Dr. This is a very curvy stretch of road with banked corners. Vehicle #1 failed to negotiate the curve and went off the right side of the roadway hitting a tree root. The motorcycle came back onto the roadway and went onto its side. The driver was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The motorcycle was towed from the scene due to damage from the crash.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 6/30/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 2:58 PM, SMITH, DONNY LEE, 34, TURNED HIMSELF INTO THE BCCF LOBBY LOCATED AT 190 NW 4TH ST ON A WARRANT FOR FTA PCW HEROIN, BAIL $10K. DEPUTIES CONFIRMED THE WARRANT WITH RECORDS AND SMITH WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On June 29, 2021 at around 7:21 pm, deputies were dispatched to the Benton County Fairgrounds parking lot for a vehicle break in. The caller returned to her vehicle and found her passenger window was broken out. Nothing was taken from her vehicle. The estimated the damage was approximately $150 - $200.
DWS MIS - On Monday June 28, 2021 at about 9:35 PM, deputies stopped RICHARD ALLEN SATHER, 31, on a motorcycle. SATHER was cited and released in the field for Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor).
DUII; MINOR IN POSS OF LIQUOR; ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On 6/24/2021 at around 9:30 PM, Vehicle #1 was traveling eastbound on SW Reservoir Ave around milepost 1. The vehicle went into a left hand turn and failed to stay on the roadway and rolled the vehicle on the south side of the roadway. Deputies arrested the minor driver for DUII and issued him citations for DUII and MIP-Alcohol.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1 VANDALISM; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3 VANDALISM - On June 26, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the Adair Village Food Market for a report of criminal mischief. During the previous night, a man had ripped a No Parking sign out of the ground, slashed four tires, vandalized a company vehicle, and ripped the signs off a nearby Oregon Department of Fish and Game gate. Jacob Callis, 25, was later issued criminal citations for Criminal Mischief 1 and Criminal Mischief 3.
WARRANT ARREST - ON 6/24/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:19 PM, SCHROEDER, KARA, 42, OF TOLEDO, TURNED HERSELF INTO THE BCCF JAIL LOCATED AT 190 NW 4TH STREET FOR A WARRANT FOR FTA PCS METH. THE WARRANT WAS CONFIRMED AND SCHROEDER WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
WARRANT ARREST - While preparing release documentation for Angelica Hart, 27, a Linn Co Circuit Court warrant for FTA Making a False Report was discovered. A new court date and time was issued by Linn County and Hart was released from custody.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at approximately 8:20 A.M., deputies spoke with a resident who said sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning someone had damaged his mailbox on the 24900 block of Orchard Tract Rd, Monroe. He said this cost approximately 32.00 dollars plus 50.00 dollars for labor to fix. He did not have any suspect information.
WARRANT ARREST - On 6/15/21 at approximately 6:30 pm, Smith, Jacob, 29, turned himself into the lobby of the Benton County Jail for a warrant. A statewide felony warrant was found for PPS Sex Abuse II out of Benton County. The warrant was served and subject was taken into custody.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 6/10/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 4:45PM, VANTRESS, JASON, 40, TURNED HIMSELF IN AT THE BCCF JAIL LOCATED AT 190 NW 4TH ST FOR A WARRANT FOR PAROLE VIOL-LARCENY, NO BAIL. THE WARRANT WAS CONFIRMED AND SERVED BY DEPUTIES.
THEFT 1; FELON IN POSS OF FIREARM - On June 30, 2021 at around 1:16AM, deputies drove into Missouri Bend Park and observed a white Ford motorhome in the parking lot with the doors open. They contacted Kimberly DIRRETT, 44, of Crabtree. DIRRETT is a convicted felon and on felony probation. During their contact, they located a stolen SCCY 9mm pistol in Kimberly DIRRETT`S possession which she had attempted to hide. DIRRETT confessed to trying to hide the pistol and being in possession of it. DIRRETT was subsequently issued a citation in lieu of custody for ORS.164.055 Theft in the first degree, and ORS.166.270 Felon in possession of a firearm.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On 6/30/2021 at around 7:45 PM, deputies spoke with a man outside the Sheriff`s Office about someone breaking the passenger side window out from his vehicle while he was biking at the end of Oak Creek Road. He said he drove straight to the Sheriff`s Office to report the incident. A backpack from inside the vehicle was stolen which had his wallet and cellphone inside, along other misc. items inside. He said there was $150.00 cash inside the wallet along with his ID and a few credit cards. Deputies told him to get the credit cards froze quickly. There is no suspect information at this time.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On June 27, 2021, at around 12:40 pm, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with injury on Highway 34, near milepost 43. Unit 1 was turning onto Seeley Creek Road in a 2009 Kia Rondo when he was hit by unit 2, a 2011 Mazda 3. No apparent injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The driver of unit 1 was issued a citation for Unlawful Turn.
THEFT 2 - On Friday, June 25, 2021 at 4:45 PM, a man reported his cell phone, a red Motorola GP (Cricket Wireless) worth $200, was stolen from the laundry room at the Benton County Fairgrounds Campground. The suspect was described as an unknown male of average height and build wearing a t-shirt, baseball hat, large green backpack, carrying a black plastic trash bag possibly full of clothing that was seen leaving the laundry room at the time of the theft.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Friday, June 25, 2021 at 9:48 AM, someone saw a male entering the old tree farm on the 700 block of SW 53rd Street in Corvallis. This property is privately owned and is one of frequent criminal activity. Deputies confirmed with the property owner that absolutely no one has permission to be trespassing or camping on the property. Deputies contacted nearly a half-dozen individuals at various camps and informed them they were trespassing. The individuals were given a deadline of Wednesday, June 30 to clean up their respective camps and be off the property.
THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On 6/17/2021 at around 6:15 PM, deputies spoke with a man about someone breaking the right rear passenger car window and stealing his wallet from the car. He said his driver’s license and a few credit cards were in the wallet. He said someone used his cards at Fred Meyer and charged $1525.35 on 3 different cards. He also said the credit cards are locked now and the credit card companies are investigating.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2; FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER INJURY - On Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at approximately 12:35 pm, deputies were dispatched to an injury crash on Highway 20 near milepost 8 located in Albany, and arrested Jordan Deavila, 18.
PROBATION VIOLATION - On Friday, June 25, 2021 at 10:12 AM, deputies stopped a black Subaru Legacy sedan near SE 3rd Street and SW Twin Oaks Circle in Corvallis after recognizing the driver, LUKE ELBINGER, 29, who had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. ELBINGER was arrested on his confirmed warrant. ELBINGER was booked and lodged on his warrant at the Benton County Jail. ELBINGER was also cited for Driving While Suspended (Violation) and Driving Uninsured.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 11:57 AM, deputies stopped a silver Ford Crown Victoria sedan for a traffic violation on NW Buchanan Avenue near NW 9th Street in Corvallis. They cited the driver for Driving Uninsured and also cited the passenger, SAMUEL MONROE JR, 43, for two confirmed misdemeanor warrants.
FAIL TO REGISTER SEX OFFENDER - On Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at about 9:00 A.M., deputies arrived on the 1700 block of NW Menlo Drive to look for Paul Aaron Bonnen, 32. Paul is a Registered Sex Offender and had not reported since May 05, 2020 and not within 10 days of his birthday. Paul crawled out of the window on the north side of the garage where deputies identified him from his previous sex offender registration photos. Paul was issued a citation for Failing to Report as a Sex Offender (ORS 163A.040) and released with a court date.
FOUND PROPERTY - On June 28, 2021 around 4:15 PM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a resident by phone. He reported he found a brand new pair of hip waders near the front of his driveway on the 1600 block of Sulphur Springs Road, Corvallis, that had the tags still attached. Deputies went to the residence to retrieve the hip waders and later entered them into evidence as found property.
DWS MIS - On Monday, June 28, 2021 at about 1:15 AM, deputies stopped a vehicle on Highway 34 near milepost #2 for a traffic violation. The driver, BENJAMIN JEREMIAH BLACK, 22, was cited for Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor).
DUII - On June 27, 2021 at about 10:44 pm, deputies stopped Derek Mathew Berdahl, 28, for speeding on HWY 99w near MP 77. During the stop, deputies formulated the opinion Derek was impaired and unable to operate a motor vehicle safely. They arrested Derek for DUII and transported him to the Sheriff`s Office. Deputies issued Derek a citation for DUII and speeding, then transported him to his residence where he was released.
ASSAULT 3; UNLAW USE OF WEAPON SHOOT PROH AREA; RECKLESS ENDANGERING - On June 27, 2021, around 9:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 1500 block of Alexander Avenue, Corvallis, for a reported crossbow injury. The victim had been shot in the right bicep with a crossbow by Richard Augustus Gracey, 23. Gracey was arrested for Assault III, Reckless Endangerment, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Deputies transported Gracey to the Benton County Jail, where he was released to jail staff.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On June 27, 2021, around 5:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Azalea Drive, Adair Village, for a reported tire slashing. The caller reported one her the tires to her vehicle had been punctured and destroyed the night before. Deputies took pictures of the tire and gave her a case number. There is no suspect information at this point.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Saturday, June 26, 2021, at about 6:20 PM, deputies witnessed a crash on Highway 20 near Lilly Hill Road, West of Philomath. They saw a van leave the roadway after driving eastbound into the ODOT gravel pull off, before losing control sliding into the guardrail. The van sustained very minor damage and was appeared to be relatively slow speed at time of impact. Deputies spoke to the driver and she informed deputies she was unaware the pull out was gravel and held her brake pedal down. No occupants of the van were hurt. Deputies saw very minor damage on the passenger side rear bumper. The vehicle was driven away under its own power.
ACCIDENT OTHER NO INJ - On Friday, June 25, 2021, at about 12:20 pm, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at SW 53rd Street and Willow Ave, Corvallis. Traveling northbound on SW 53rd Street, a 2003 Dodge Durango crashed into the back of a 2020 Toyota Corolla, which was stopped behind a 2021 Nissan Versa, which was also stopped for another vehicle attempting to make a left turn onto Willow Ave. The impact caused the Toyota to travel forward and hit the back of the Nissan. All three drivers had no apparent injuries, the Dodge and Nissan drove away from the scene, and the Toyota was towed.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at about 4:25 PM, deputies were dispatched to a crash on Highway 20 near milepost 4, east of Corvallis. They arrived to find CAR 1 stopped on the eastbound lane shoulder with frontend damage. CAR 2 had turned off the roadway into Garland nursery and had passenger side rear-end damage. CAR 1 was driving east on Highway 20 at normal highway speeds. CAR 2 was stopped waiting or traffic to clear so CAR 2 could turn left. CAR 1 was unable to stop in time due to a right-hand curve in the highway and a car between CAR 1 and CAR 2. CAR 1 described the vehicle in between the two making a sudden avoiding maneuver missing CAR 2 but CAR 1 was unable to do the same. CAR 2 was hit from behind and CAR 1 after heavily applying its brakes. Both drivers were uninjured and both cars could drive away under their own power.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at approximately 12:40 P.M., Unit 1 was north on Bellfountain Road near Llewellyn Road. Unit 2 was westbound on Llewellyn Road and did not stop at the stop sign. Unit 2 crashed his vehicle into the side of Unit 1, causing it to roll. No one was injured in the crash. Both vehicles were towed. The driver of Unit 2 was cited for No Operator’s License and Careless Driving.
DWS MIS; WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, June 19th, 2021 at about 4:20 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle on Highway 99W near Alpine Cutoff Road. Dispatch advised the driver, DUSTIN EUGENE WHINNERY, 34, had three outstanding Warrants and was Suspended - (Misdemeanor). WHINNERY was cited and released in the field.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On May 26, 2021, deputies responded to Highway 20 MP 35 for a road-struck deer. A driver hit and killed a deer while in his 2012 Subaru Impreza OR. The driver had already called for a tow and was safely off the road. The deer was dead and safely off the road. The driver said he required no assistance.
IDENTITY THEFT; WARRANT ARREST - On June 24, 2021, at around 3:37 pm, deputies stopped and arrested Oren Hounchel, 41, near the intersection of SW Western Blvd and SW 35th St. Deputies issued Hounchel a criminal citation for an Albany Municipal Court warrant for Contempt of Court. Hounchel was transported to the Linn County Jail for multiple Linn County Circuit Warrants for Failure to Appear - PCS Meth. They later issued Hounchel a criminal citation for Identity Theft.
HARASSMENT PHONE - On June 24, 2021 around 2:50 p.m., deputies were dispatched to speak with a man by phone to report a telephonic harassment incident. The caller said he was receiving threatening text messages and phone calls from another man on the 900 block of Scenic Drive, Albany. Both men were advised to no longer contact one another, and to block each other’s phone numbers.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On June 24, 2021, at around 11:30 am, deputies were dispatched to the 1100 block of NW Overlook Dr. for a suspicious vehicle. A resident reported a middle-aged male drove a gray 2011 Kia Forte into his driveway and took several photos of the house before driving away. The resident was concerned his house was being "cased". It was later confirmed that the man driving the car was a real estate appraiser. No crime found.
RECKLESS DRIVING - On Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at about 4:00 pm, deputies attempted to stop a 2018 Honda CBR motorcycle for going 95 mph in a posted 55 mph zone on Highway 20 near milepost 46. Deputies were unable to get the motorcycle to pull over. Due to the motorcycle accelerating to about 115 mph, deputies discontinued attempting to stop it. Toledo Police stopped the motorcycle and identified the rider. On Thursday, June 24, 2021, deputies spoke with him on the phone. He was cooperative and stated he never saw deputies behind him. Deputies warned him about his speed and educated him on the risks involved as well as the possible criminal charges he could have been charged with.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at approximately 1:50 P.M., unit 1 was driving south on Highway 99W near milepost 93. For unknown reasons the vehicle drove off the west side of the road, through a sign post, and rolled his car end over end. The driver was injured in the crash and was eventually extricated and taken to Good Samaritan ER.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, June 21, 2021 at about 8:30 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle on 5th St. near Madison Ave, Corvallis, for a traffic violation. Dispatch advised the driver of the vehicle, JEFFREY ALAN PEARCE, 43, had an outstanding warrant out of Albany Municipal Court. PEARCE was cited and released in the field.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 06/21/21, BAKER, Dalton, 26, turned himself in at Benton Co Jail on a confirmed Benton Co Circuit warrant for FTA-DUII. Baker was cited and released with a new court date.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Sunday June 20, 2021, deputies were dispatched to Granite Creek Road near Bonner Ridge Road for a report of a Suspicious Vehicle. Deputies contacted a man who stated he was currently homeless. Deputies informed him he was on private property, he believed it was BLM land, deputies confirmed it was not. He was told to move from his current location.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, June 19, 2021 at about 6:10 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle on 5th St. at Main St. in Monroe. JEFFERY WESLEY BISHOP, 42, had an outstanding warrant out of Lebanon Justice Court. BISHOP was issued a citation and released in the field.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 6/16/21, JAIL DEPUTIES RAN VAUGHN-SILVA, 36, OF GRANTS PASS, AND IT SHOWED THAT HE HAD A WARRANT OUT OF WASH CO FOR VRA STRANGULATION, BAIL $25K. THE WARRANT WAS SERVED ON VAUGHN-SILVA WHO WAS LOCATED AT THE BENTON COUNTY JAIL 190 NW 4TH ST IN CORVALLIS.
THEFT 3 FROM VEHICLE - On June 17 at around 9:38 pm, deputies were dispatched to Santiam Christian Schools in Adair Village for a report of a theft. A female had parked her car in the lot near the main HS gym for about an hour. When she returned to the car she found the front passenger side window broken out. Her purse was left on the floorboard. She looked inside her wallet and found $75 in cash was taken. No suspect information.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 3:24 PM, Unit 1 was traveling westbound on Highway 20. Unit 2 was stopped on Granger Avenue at the intersection of Highway 20. Unit 2 slowly advanced his vehicle past the stop line into the westbound lane of travel on Highway 20 to attempt to see around traffic that was turning right onto Granger Avenue (instead of waiting till it was clear). Unit 1 struck by Unit 2 as he pulled out in front of her. A passenger in Unit 1 was transported by CFD Medics to the hospital for a complaint of pain. Both vehicles were towed due to damage and the driver of Unit 2 was cited for Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On June 24, 2021, at around 1:39 pm, deputies were dispatched to the section of roadway on the 7800 block of NW Caldwell Hill Dr. for a suspicious circumstance. A mail carrier reported finding bones along the roadway. The bones appeared to belong to a deer.
WARRANT ARREST - On June 24, 2021, at around 3:15 pm, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a gray 2002 GMC Yukon at the intersection of SW Western Blvd and SW 35th St. The driver, Michael Brown II, 56, had a suspended driver`s license and had an Albany Municipal Court warrant for Contempt of Court. Deputies issued Brown a criminal citation for his warrant and a citation for Driving While Suspended - Violation.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT - On June 25, 2021, at 12:18 AM, deputies responded to the 100 block of S 7th Street in Monroe for a report of two 20-year-old males looking into vehicles with flashlights. Upon arrival, deputies searched the area and did not locate anyone.
WARRANT ARREST - On June 26, 2021, at around 4:12 pm, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a black 2006 Honda CR-V near the intersection of NW Garfield Ave and NW 9th St. A passenger in the Honda, Eric Savok, 30, was later issued a criminal citation for a Marion County Circuit Court warrant for Failure to Appear - Identity Theft and a criminal citation for an Albany Municipal Court warrant for Theft 2.
WARRANT ARREST - On June 26, 2021, at 11:12 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle on Highway 20 near Priest Road in Philomath for speeding. The front seat passenger, Antonia Coddington, 31, was arrested on an Oregon State Parole Board Warrant. The back seat passenger, Allen Nolan, 24, was arrested on an Oregon State Parole Board Warrant, Benton County Bench Warrant, and an Albany Municipal Court Warrant. Coddington and Nolan were both transported to the Benton County Jail.
CONTEMPT OF COURT; DWS MIS; FAIL TO APPEAR ON CRIMINAL CITATION - On Monday, June 21, 2021, around 1:45 A.M., deputies arrested Zachary Tyler, 41, on 53rd Street near Philomath Boulevard for Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor and two warrants. He was issued citations and released.
CARRY CONCEALED WEAPON; DWS MIS; WARRANT ARREST - On June 20, 2021, at 6:15 AM, deputies stopped Kyler Wilson, 26, on SW Western Boulevard near SW 30th Street in Corvallis, after he failed to use a turn signal, while attempting to ditch deputies. Wilson was cited for driving while suspended misdemeanor. The front seat passenger, Joseph Gomez, 41, was cited for carrying a concealed weapon. Gomez additionally was cited on multiple warrants.
WARRANT ARREST - On Thursday, June 17, 2021 at about 3:45 PM, detectives arrived to a gravel lot near SW 6th Street and SW D Avenue in Corvallis. At this location, they contacted and arrested Aja Montoya, 39, for the following warrants: Benton County Circuit Court Warrant, Assault III, Assault IV, Disorderly Conduct II - No Bail; and Linn County Circuit Court Warrant, FTA Theft I - No Bail. Montoya was cited and released.
FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER PROP DAMAGE; ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Wednesday, June 23, 2021, deputies were dispatched to Highway 20 near Granger Avenue for a hit and run crash. They arrived and spoke with a driver, who was parked on Highway 20 facing east. She there was a large green SUV parked off the roadway on the eastbound side of traffic that attempted to make a U-Turn. She said the SUV went into the west bound ditch, back onto Highway 20 facing west bound, into the east bound lane sideswiping her car. She said she tried to swerve out of the way of the SUV, but was unable to and it struck her vehicle. She said the vehicle continued driving west on highway 20 towards Corvallis. She was uninjured and her vehicle did not need to be towed. Deputies were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On June 23, 2021, around 11:50 a.m., deputies were dispatched to speak with a resident Floyd Sutton by phone. He reported his mail box had been destroyed at his residence on the 24300 block of Dawson Road, Monroe. He said sometime around 1:00 a.m. on June 20, he was woken up by a loud noise. He suspects that was when his mailbox was destroyed. He said he found a large, "forty pound rock," near his mailbox and suspects the rock was used to destroy his mailbox. He valued the mailbox to be around $50.00, and did not have any suspect information.
POSS METH; WARRANT ARREST - On June 23, 2021, at around 1:40 AM, deputies contacted Robert LEWIS, 48, in Avery Park after hours. LEWIS had an outstanding warrant for FTA - Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. LEWIS was subsequently arrested and deputies located a methamphetamine pipe in his possession. LEWIS was issues citations for his warrant and for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine less than 2 grams.
POSS METH - On June 23rd, 2021 at around 12:25 AM, deputies located a vehicle parked near a gravel pull out on Mary`s Peak Rd near mile post 3. They contacted the driver and observed a methamphetamine pipe in the center console of the vehicle. The driver was subsequently issued a citation for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Less than 2 grams.
MAIL THEFT - On June 22, 2021 around 3:15 pm, deputies were dispatched to speak with a resident on the 9000 block of NW Fir Ridge Place, Corvallis, by phone. He reported his mail had been stolen on four separate occasions, the last being on Saturday, June 20. He said he was missing four Wall Street Journal magazines and four Economist magazines, valued at $60.00. He did not have any suspect information. Deputies advised Taylor to get a mailbox that will lock and to check his mail every day.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 4:40 PM, deputies contacted a suspicious vehicle in the area of Oakville Road & Riverside Drive as they were returning to Corvallis from Albany and arrested DONALD HENDERSHOT, 47, of Eugene, for a confirmed misdemeanor warrant. HENDERSHOT was cited and released with a court date.
PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANT; FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 3:28 PM, deputies contacted and arrested THYSEN SCARBOROUGH, 29, for multiple outstanding felony warrants while he was a passenger in a vehicle of a driveway on the 800 block of NW Tyler Avenue in Corvallis. SCARBOROUGH was transported to the Linn County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 1:47 PM, deputies contacted and arrested WILLIAM TURNER, 29, for multiple outstanding, confirmed misdemeanor warrants as he was riding his bicycle near SW 53rd Street and SW Plymouth Drive. TURNER was cited and released on his warrants at the request of the Benton County Jail.
VEHICLE RECOVERED FOR OTHER AGENCY - On Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:44 AM, deputies located and recovered a small, empty, single-axle U-Haul trailer that was backed into a marked space in the northeast corner of a parking lot on the 1100 block of NW 9th Ave, Corvallis. The trailer had been taken from U-Haul in Corvallis approximately three weeks prior. The trailer was picked up by an employee.
MENACING - On June 15, 2021 at about 9:00 PM, deputies responded to the area of McFarland Rd and Alpine Rd for report of a male pointing a rifle and threatening a man who was magnet fishing on a bridge near that intersection. Deputies subsequently arrested Joseph Boyer, 53, for pointing a rifle at Clint Corwin and threatening him, causing Corwin to fear for his life.
VIOL RELEASE AGREEMENT; WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at approximately 9:20 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 900 block of Springhill Drive for report of an assault that had just occurred. Deputies found MATTHEW DAVID GRINER, 60, of Lebanon, had gotten into a verbal argument with man, but no assault occurred and neither wanted to pursue any charges. MATTHEW was found to be in violation of a release agreement. He also had numerous confirmed active warrants for his arrest. Deputies arrested MATTHEW and transported him to the Benton County Jail where he was lodged on the Violation of Release Agreement charge and issued citations with new court dates for the warrants.
WARRANT ARREST - On June 22, 2021 at about 1:30 p.m., deputies issued Joshua Allen Gilmore, 26, a citation to appear on a Benton County State Wide Felony warrant for Burglary 1st Degree and Theft 1st Degree in the Benton County P&P Lobby.
IDENTITY THEFT - On June 22, 2021, deputies spoke to a resident on the 29100 block of Dodge Island Road. He reported a fraudulent account opened in his name. There are currently no suspects.
STRANGULATION; WARRANT ARREST; ASSAULT 4; MENACING - On Monday, June 21, 2021, at about 5:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to an assault on the19100 block of Highway 34, near Alsea. They arrived to speak with the victim regarding the alleged assault. He stated Anthony Scott DAVIS, 48, had become belligerent and assaulted him while they were both at the house. He described DAVIS to have strangled him, threw him to the ground, and acted as if he was going to punch him in the face which caused him to be in fear of his life and safety. Deputies arrested DAVIS for the crimes of ORS 163.187 Strangulation, ORS 163.160 Assault IV and ORS 163. 190 Menacing. In addition, DAVIS was arrested for three confirmed Benton County Circuit Court warrants.
BURGLARY 2; THEFT 2 FROM BUILDING - On June 21, 2021 around 4:40 p.m., deputies were dispatched to speak with a resident about a burglary that occurred in a shed at his residence on the 27000 block of Hubbard Road, Monroe. A black and orange Hydroforce X2 inflatable kayak was stolen. There is currently no suspect information.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On Monday, June 21, 2021, deputies were dispatched to contact a resident on the 24700 block of Dawson Rd, Monroe, concerning criminal mischief to his pump house. He said sometime around 4:00 AM on Sunday, June 20, an unknown person threw a 3x3x3 rock at his pump house which knocked the door off. He estimated the damage at $500, but fixed it himself. He said he has heard of other residents with damaged mailboxes and heard a white pickup or a black sedan could be potential suspect vehicles.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On June 21, 2021, around 2:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to speak with a resident by phone. He reported his mailbox on the 24900 block of Orchard Tract Road, Monroe, had been destroyed sometime during the night of June 19. He estimated the damages to be around $50 and there is no suspect information at this time.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Sunday, June 20, 2021, at approximately 6:51 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of SE 3rd Street and SE Standish Avenue for report of a crash with some type of verbal altercation going on in the middle of the roadway. They arrived and found two people that had been involved in a road rage type incident and crashed into each other causing major damage to both vehicles. Based on roadway evidence at the scene it appeared the incident ended when one passed the other and then slowed or stopped his vehicle in the roadway causing the vehicle behind to crash into him. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to damage.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, June 20, 2021, at about 12:05 pm, deputies had a citizen contact with Joseph Rufugio Gomez, 38, in a parking lot of on the 1700 block of NW 9th Street, Corvallis. Gomez was arrested on a Benton County Circuit Court Warrant. Gomez was cited and released on scene for his warrant, along with an additional citation for traffic violations: No Operators License and Driving Uninsured.
WARRANT ARREST; ACCIDENT OTHER INJURY - On Sunday, June 20, 2021, at about 10:33 am, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with injury located on NE Highway 20, near Milepost 5, Corvallis. Andy McNew, 34, was traveling westbound in his 2000 Mercedes E320 when it left the roadway on the north side of the highway, and collided with a utility pole, which caused a small fire on the roadside from the down power lines. McNew denied medical assessment and the back passengers of the Mercedes were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by a third party. McNew was arrested on a confirmed warrant from Clackamas County Circuit Court, and was cited for Driving While Suspended, Driving Uninsured, and Careless Driving. McNew was cited and released on scene.
POSS METH (MISD - 2 GRAMS OR MORE); FAIL TO APPEAR; DWS MIS - On June 20, 2021 at around 12:41 am, deputies stopped John Masterson Jr., 54, at Old River Road and Highway 99. Masterson had a warrant out of Benton County Circuit Court for Fail to Appear in the first degree. Additionally, Masterson`s license was suspended misdemeanor. After being placed in custody, deputies discovered 2.1 grams of Methamphetamine in Masterson’s pocket.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On June 17, 2021 around 4:00 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Applegate Street and Main Street, Philomath, for a vehicle crash with no injuries. The caller reported the other party did not have any insurance. The other driver was able to show valid insurance and both drivers exchanged information.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE - On Thursday, June 17, 2021, Christopher Adam Huntting, 33, was located in the tree farm area between 53rd Street and West Hills Road. Hunting had a confirmed warrant for his arrest out of Linn County for Contempt of Court. Huntting was issued a citation for the warrant and released.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On June 17, 2021 around 1:00 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 4900 block of Highway 99, Corvallis, for a reported trespass. The caller reported there was a male setting up camp at the southwest part of the parking lot, and nobody was supposed to be camping on the church property. Deputies spoke with the male and told him he had until the end of the day to move his things.
IDENTITY THEFT; DELIVER HEROIN;INTERFERE W/ PEACE OFFICER; ESCAPE 3; TAMPER W/ EVIDENCE; POSS HEROIN (FELONY); RESISTING ARREST - On Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 10:22 AM, deputies stopped a silver coupe for a traffic violation near SW West Hills Road and Bailey Street. DONNIE CARPENTER, 40, or Keizer, attempted to flee in his vehicle after deputies noticed what they suspected to be articles of stolen identification on the driver`s floorboard in plain view. CARPENTER`S vehicle became trapped in the driveway of the residence at this location and a short standoff ensued. CARPENTER eventually surrendered and was taken into custody. CARPENTER was found to be in possession of a significant amount of Heroin and a stolen OSU Student ID Card. CARPENTER was booked and lodged at the Benton County Jail on a detainer from his Parole Officer. CARPENTER was also charged with Unlawful Delivery of Heroin, Unlawful Possession of Heroin, Identity Theft, Interfering with a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest, Escape III, and Tampering with Evidence.
THEFT 3 FROM VEHICLE; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On Monday, May 17, 2021, at approximately 5:40 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of 29555 Camp Adair Road, the ODFW Fishing Pond parking area. They met with a man who reported while he had been fishing, someone broke the window to their vehicle, a 1999 Honda Civic, and taken a purse out of the trunk. There are no suspects.
ACCIDENT OTHER NO INJ - On Monday, June 21, 2021, at about 1:59 pm, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Highway 99W and Camp Adair Road, Corvallis. The driver was traveling south on Hwy 99W, when she entered the middle turn lane to turn eastbound on Camp Adair Road in her 2005 Buick Rendezvous, made the turn too fast and drove into the ditch. She had no apparent injuries and the vehicle was towed from the scene. Deputies issued the driver a citation for DWS Violation, and Driving Uninsured.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On June 20, 2021, at around 2:21 pm, deputies were dispatched to a Monroe restaurant for a report of harassment. An employee reported that a man was harassing customers and would not leave. Deputies gave the man a courtesy transport to Junction City. No crime was found to have occurred.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On June 20, 2021, at around 1:23 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of S 5th St, Monroe, for a reported trespass. A resident reported a man was causing a disturbance to him and his customers. The man agreed to remove his belongings from the sidewalk and relocate. No crime found
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On June 20, 2021, at around 12:33 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 26600 block of Fairwood Dr for a report of criminal mischief. The resident reported someone destroyed his two mailboxes. No current suspects.
HARASSMENT PHONE - On Saturday, June 19, 2021, at about 10:44 am, deputies were dispatched to a harassment on the 33400 block of Noon Road Philomath. A resident reported hiring a man to do yard work around her home. She stated he became angry with her regarding wages and housing arrangements, and continued to contact her after being told to stop. He was verbally warned for Telephonic Harassment.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Friday, June 18, 2021, at about 11:07 am, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash located on Highway 20, Milepost 39, Blodgett. A Hyundai Elentra was traveling eastbound on Hwy 20, pulled to the side of the road and attempted a U-turn in front of another driver, who was traveling in the same direction behind the Hyundai in her Ford Flex. The Ford was traveling approximately 20mph when it collided with the back driver side of the Hyundai. One driver was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. Both vehicles were driven away from the scene.
WARRANT ARREST - On June 17, 2021, at around 3:00 pm, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a gray 2000 Nissan Maxima. The passenger, Brian Torres, 25, had a warrant out of Marion County Circuit Court for Failure to Appear - Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants. Torres was issued a criminal citation for the warrant. The driver was issued a citation for Driving While Suspended - Violation.
WARRANT ARREST - On June 17, 2021 around 1:00 p.m., deputies were at the Tree Farm at 765 53rd Street, Corvallis, to attempt to serve civil papers. As they were walking through the Tree Farm there was a cluster of three camp trailers parked next to each other. In one of the trailers was a female who identified herself as Antonia Mamie Coddington, 31. Disptach advised Coddington had a State Parole Board warrant for her arrest. Deputies transported Coddington to the Benton County Jail, where she was booked and lodged.
WARRANT ARREST - On June 17, 2021, around 8:50 am, deputies were at the BMX Track at 551 Chapman Place, Corvallis, to serve civil papers. As they were walking through different campsites they spoke with a male sleeping inside his tent, and was not wanting to identify himself. The male finally identified himself as Matthew Edward Maloney, 40, and had multiple warrants from multiple jurisdictions. Deputies transported Maloney to the Linn County Jail and released him to the jail staff.

ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 10:15 AM, Unit 1 was driving southbound on Highway 99W in his pickup near the intersection of Coffin Butte Road. Unit 2 began crossing the highway from the east side of the intersection in his pickup while his view was obstructed by a southbound semi-truck and trailer that was set up to turn eastbound onto Coffin Butte Road. Unit 2 struck Unit 1 on the driver’s side, pushing it into a third vehicle which was stopped on the west side of the intersection. Unit 1 rolled onto its roof and both he and his passenger sustained minor injuries. All three vehicles were towed.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On 6/5/2021 at around 4:16 PM, Vehicle #1, was traveling northbound on Highway 99W, just passing SW Airport Road. Vehicle #2 was in front of vehicle #1, stopped for traffic in front of them from a different crash around ½ mile farther north on Highway 99W. Vehicle #1 failed to notice the stopped vehicle and attempted to use her brakes to stop in time. The driver said she did not believe the vehicle’s brakes were functioning correctly. Vehicle #1 ran into the back of vehicle #2, then came to rest on the east side of the roadway in the ditch area. She and her passenger were taken by Corvallis Fire to Good Samaritan Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle was towed from the ditch due to the damage from the crash.
THEFT 1; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On June 18, 2021, at around 10:44 am, deputies were dispatched to the 5400 block of NE Highway 20, for a reported theft. A man reported his Bougainvillea bonsai tree had been stolen. The bonsai was valued at $1800. No current suspects.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON JUNE 18, 2021, STEVE MARKS, 51, TURNED HIMSELF IN ON FOUR DWS FTA’S OUT OF BENTON COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT. THE WARRANTS WERE CITE TO APPEAR, AND COURT DATE AND TIME WERE PROVIDED TO MARKS.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On June 17, 2021, at 9:46 PM, deputies were dispatched to SW Reservoir Avenue near SW 53rd Street in Corvallis for a non-injury single vehicle crash. The driver was traveling eastbound on SW Reservoir Avenue at a high rate of speed. He lost control while negotiating a corner and crashed into a small tree. He got a ride home from a witness after the crash. Deputies contacted the driver at his residence about an hour later. He was cooperative and admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages and consented to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Deputies determined he was no longer impaired to a perceptible degree. He was cited for Driving While Suspended and Driving Uninsured and he agreed to contact Benton County Public Works and pay for the damaged tree.
THEFT 3 FROM VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 RESULT CRIMINAL ACT - On 6/17/2021 at around 8:50 PM, deputies spoke with a woman by phone about someone breaking her driver’s side rear window and stealing a gift basket worth around $100.00 from inside her vehicle. She said this happened at Peavy Arboretum sometime between 6:00 and 7:00 PM. There is no suspect information at this time.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 RESULT CRIMINAL ACT - On June 17, 2021, at around 6:39 pm, deputies were dispatched to the Benton County Jail for a report of an inmate breaking a glass window. Zachary Spence, 34, was later issued a criminal citation for Criminal Mischief 2.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - DAWSON DEWOLFE, 22, TURNED HIMSELF IN AT BCCF ON 06-17-2021 ON A WARRANT FOR FELON IN POSSESSION OF A RESTRICED WEAPON, A CITE TO APPEAR WARRANT. A NEW COURT DATE WAS GIVEN AND SUBJECT WAS RELEASED.
THEFT 2 LOST/MISLAID PROPERTY - On Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 8:56 AM, a woman reported she lost two kayaks off the roof of her vehicle on Sunday, May 30 while she was driving on Highway 99W between Suver Road and Corvallis. She stated that by the time she realized the kayaks had fallen off and she returned to check the area, they had already been taken by someone. She described them as both Lifetime brand, single-seat hard plastic kayaks. One was a red-colored Spitfire model and the other was a teal-colored Daylite model, worth $250 each.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 06/16/21, jail deputies ran McGowan, Matthew, 26, for warrants and learned he had a Lane Co Circuit warrant for FTA - Crim Mischief. They served the warrant on McGowan.
THEFT 3 - On Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at 4:31 p.m., deputies responded to the 21400 block of Hwy 20, Blodgett, for a report of a shop lift. A male subject was reported to have taken gasoline and food items, and left in an older Ford pickup. The suspect, Chancellor Wise, 30, was taken into custody by Toledo PD, and the vehicle Wise was driving was reported stolen.
THEFT 3 - On Monday, June 14, 2021 at about 12:45 P.M., deputies were dispatched to speak with Brian William Greene by phone. Brian stated a male and female with colored hair pulled into the alleyway behind 575 Commercial Street, Monroe in a U-Haul cargo van and dumped a load of trash into the dumpster, then drove off. Deputies have been unable to contact the possible suspect.
THEFT 3 FROM VEHICLE - On 6/11/2021, a female had her vehicle parked on the 5800 block of Hwy 99W while working from 9:30 am until 4:30 PM. After she got off work she noticed her front license plate was missing. Another employee’s plate was also stolen that day parked near her. There is no suspect information at this time.
THEFT 3 FROM VEHICLE - On 6/11/2021, a female had her vehicle parked on the 5800 block of Hwy 99W while working from 6:30 am until 3:00 PM. After she got off work, she noticed her front license plate was missing. Another employee’s plate was also stolen that day parked near her. There is no suspect information at this time.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On 6/5/2021 at around 8:57 PM, Vehicle #1, was traveling southbound on NW Springhill Dr. near mile post 4. Vehicle #1 was negotiating a curve and went off the roadway at Beaumont Lane. The driver was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by the Albany Fire Department for non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle was towed due to damage from the crash.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 6/3/2021 KUSKE, MARLEE A, 28, TURNED HERSELF INTO THE JAIL ON A WARRANT FOR FTA-THEFT II. KUSKE WAS GIVEN A NEW COURT DATE AND TIME FOR THE WARRANT.
FAIL TO APPEAR-BENCH WARRANT - On 6/1/212 @ approximately 2:10 am, ARON PAUL REYES, 49, of Dallas, reported to the front door of the jail and stated he missed court and had a warrant. Reyes had 5 warrants out of the Benton County Circuit Court: 1) Disorderly Conduct II; 2) Criminal Mischief II; 3) UUW, Dis Con II; 4) Resisting Arrest, Interfering, Assault on PO, Dis con II, Criminal Misc II; and 5) Interfering, Dis con II. Case cleared, Court date given.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Tuesday, June 15, 2021, deputies responded to Hwy 34 near milepost 42, Alsea, for a single vehicle crash. The driver was traveling westbound on Hwy 34, left the right side of the road, overcorrected and rolled her vehicle on the other side of the road. She was not injured, and the vehicle was towed.
DUII DRUGS - On June 15, 2021, around 2:00 p.m., deputies contacted Naiobi Louise Lebeau, 33, of Newport, at the intersection of 9th Street and Conifer Street, Corvallis. Lebeau was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and was issued a citation for her warrant.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On June 15, 2021 at around 4 am, a woman called the Sheriff`s Office to report she thought someone was stealing mail on the 5100 block of NW Highway 99W in Corvallis. She saw mail on the ground by the mailboxes, but did not see anyone stealing mail. She saw a car drive by but was not sure if the car was associated with mail theft. Deputies responded to the area and saw several mailboxes open and two pieces of mail on the ground. Unknown if mail was stolen as there were no reports from victims.
DUII DRUGS - On 06/13/2021 at approximately 7:52 PM, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Avery Park Avenue. The male driver was identified as Raymond Johnson, 49, of Lebanon. Deputies conducted a DUII investigation which led to Johnson’s arrest for DUII drugs. It was determined Johnson was impaired by a CNS Stimulant. Johnson was cited in lieu of custody.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 10:13 AM, driver 1 was southbound on Bellfountain Road near Mile Post 10 in a Toyota Highlander SUV when she struck a deer crossing the road. Driver 2 was following in a Subaru Forrester and ran into the rear of driver 1 after she hit the deer. There were no injuries, though the deer was deceased as a result of the impact.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 06/14/21, Hall Trael, 36, turned herself in at Benton Co Jail on a Benton County Circuit warrant for FTA Burg I. Deputies served the warrant on Hall and she was released.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On June 9, 2021 at around 6:00 am, deputies were dispatched to the 2500 block of NW Michelle Drive in Corvallis. They arrived and saw a 2004 Honda Civic parked in the posted No Parking area turn around. Inside the car deputies saw a male and female in the backseat area naked and sleeping. The two went to the turn-around at 4 am and had sex inside the car. Deputies issued the owner of the car a citation for Illegal Parking and told the two they needed to leave as the area was posted no parking.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 6/9/21, EVERETT CARPENTER, 51, OF SILVERTON, HAD A WARRANT FOR FTA DWS, MARION CO. JAIL DEPUTIES SERVED CARPENTER WHO WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 06/09/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 4:29 PM, MELISSA CORNETT, 34, HAD A WARRANT OUT OF COOS COUNTY FOR FTA TRESP, 25,000 BAIL. JAIL DEPUTIES SERVED THE WARRANT ON CORNETT AND SHE WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Wednesday, June 2, 2021, deputies were dispatched to NW Palestine Avenue and NW Bramblewood Lane for a motor vehicle crash. Unit 1 was turning left off of Bramblewood Lane while Unit 2 was traveling west on NW Palestine Avenue. The driver of Unit 1 said he didn`t see Unit 2 and pulled in front of her. Both vehicles were towed. No injuries were reported
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On June 1, 2021 at around 9:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle parked on the 3400 block of NW Springhill Drive. They contacted a Salem man in a Chrysler van. He stated he was making a delivery for Instacart in the Albany area and ran out of gas. Deputies transported him to the Chevron Station in North Albany then back to his van. Once he put fuel in his van deputies followed him back to North Albany.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Monday, June 14, 2021, at about 9:49 am, deputies found evidence that Shane William Johnson, 23, of Winchester, entered unlawfully upon the premises of another home on the 100 block of Main Street, Philomath. Johnson was arrested for Criminal Trespass II and transported to the Benton County Jail, where he was lodged.
BURGLARY 2; THEFT 2; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Monday, June 14, 2021, at about 9:49 am, deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Main Street, Philomath, regarding a burglary in progress. Shane William Johnson, 23, of Winchester, stole a trailer and a bag of recyclable cans from a barn, and was stopped by the owner before Johnson left the area. Johnson was arrested for Burglary II, Theft II, and Criminal Trespass II, and transported to the Benton County Jail, where he was lodged.
VIOL RESTRAINING ORDER - On June 13, 2021 at about 9:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a resident on the 26400 block of Alpine Cutoff Road, over the phone regarding a possible restraining order violation taken by the Junction City Police Department.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 12:12 PM, deputies were in the tree farm on SW 53rd Street near SW Willow Avenue performing follow-up for an assault investigation when they contacted a male and female in an RV named ALVIN FREAR, 36. FREAR had a confirmed felony warrant for his arrest out of Lincoln County which deputies cited and released him on.
UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On Friday, June 11, 2021, at about 10:31 am, deputies were dispatched to an Unauthorized Entry to Motor Vehicle at the Benton County Fairgrounds located at 110 SW 53rd Street, Corvallis. A man reported his cargo trailer parked in one of the storage sheds was broken into. He stated no items were taken, and the only damage was to the lock, valued at $15. No suspect identified at this time.
ASSAULT 3; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; RECKLESS DRIVING; DWS MIS; RECKLESS ENDANGERING - On June 8, 2021, deputies arrested MALIK ROBERT CROWELL, 19, for Driving while suspended misdemeanor, Reckless driving, Assault III, Reckless endangering, and Criminal mischief II after an injury traffic crash on Orchard Tract Road. CROWELL was cited in lieu of custody, as he was receiving treatment for major facial injuries at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center E.R.
RECKLESS ENDANGERING - On Sunday, June 6, 2021, at around 7:00 pm, deputies responded to the area of Old Peak Road, and Ada Drive for a report of gunshots heard. Deputies located three men shooting in the 24300 block of Abbey Lane. The men were told not to continue shooting until they had a safe backstop.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE FATAL - On Monday, May 31, 2021, at about 8:00 am, deputies responded to the 5000 block of Elliott Circle for a crash. They arrived and learned a garbage truck had backed over a pedestrian, Eugene Linwood Lang, 75. Lang was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with severe injuries and was pronounced deceased at 2:45 pm.
RECKLESS DRIVING; ELUDE VEHICLE; ELUDE FOOT - On Saturday, May 29, 2021 at about 9:10 PM, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 223 near milepost #26 for a traffic violation. The vehicle refused to stop and Tire Deflation Devices were deployed in Philomath. The male, ROBERT MICHAEL PEDERSON, 38, of Salem, was taken into custody after he fled from the vehicle. PEDERSON was taken to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and released.
WARRANT ARREST - On June 10, 2021, at around 10:32 am, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a white 1997 Chevrolet Blazer on SW Western Blvd and SW 3rd St. The driver, Zachary Spence, 35, was later issued a criminal citation for a warrant for Failure to Appear - Harassment from Benton County Circuit Court.
WARRANT ARREST - On Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at about 8:45 pm, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Independence Highway and Springhill Road for a report of a suspicious person. Deputies arrived and later arrested Dustin Lee Taylor, 47, on two confirmed warrants. Taylor was cited and later released at the corner of 2nd Street and Ellsworth in Albany.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On June 4, 2021, at 3:37 AM, deputies responded to the 26600 block of Starr Road in Monroe for a prowler complaint. A neighbor reported seeing three flashlights in a shop on the property. Upon arrival, the shop was secure and there was no indication anyone was there.
WARRANT ARREST - On 06/12/2021 at approximately 10:57 PM, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Philomath Boulevard near Technology Loop. Deputies identified the driver as Donald Hendershot, 47, of Eugene. Hendershot was criminally suspended and wanted on two active warrants. Hendershot was issued citations in lieu of custody for his warrants.
WARRANT ARREST - On 06/12/2021 at approximately 6:45 PM, deputies observed a suspicious person in a vehicle at Dari-Mart near 4th Street and Western Boulevard in Corvallis. They learned the vehicle’s registered owner, Ryan Ciplickas, 30, had an active arrest warrant. Deputies initiated a mere contact with the driver and confirmed he was the wanted subject and issued him a criminal citation in lieu of custody for his warrant.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On June 12, 2021, at around 3:37 PM, deputies spoke with a man who reported his RV was damaged from someone trying to break in. The damage occurred sometime during the past two weeks while stored at the Benton County Fairgrounds.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On June 12, 2021 at around 3:00 pm, deputies responded to Highway 223 and Priest Road for an injury motor vehicle crash where a motorcyclist with a passenger struck a deer. They were transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On June 12, 2021, at around 11:38 am, deputies were dispatched to Highway 34 Milepost 31 for a reported suspicious person. A man reported seeing a recently seen transient male`s possessions along the roadway, near Missouri Bend Park. He was concerned because he did not know if the man was on his property. He was advised to call Dispatch if he saw the man on his property.
VEHICLE RECOVERED FOR OTHER AGENCY - On Friday, June 11, 2021 at 5:41 PM, deputies located an unoccupied stolen vehicle parked on NW 1st Street near NW Tyler Avenue in Corvallis. The vehicle was a white, 2008 Ford Econoline utility van which had been reported stolen to the Corvallis Police Department on June 4. Deputies cleared the vehicle for occupants and CPD Officers responded to coordinate the processing and recovery.
ROBBERY 3; BURGLARY 1; ASSAULT 4 - On June 12, 2021, at around 9:29 am, deputies were dispatched to the front lobby of the Benton County Sheriff`s Office for a reported assault. A man reported he was attacked by Zachary Spence, 34, while he slept in a trailer, which was parked in a vacant lot known as the "Tree Farm", located near the intersection of SW Willow Ave and SW 53rd St. Spence was later arrested for Burglary 1, Robbery 3, and Assault 4. Spence was transported and lodged at the Benton County Jail.
WARRANT ARREST - On June 11, 2021, at around 10:30 am, deputies observed a silver 1998 Toyota Camry commit a traffic violation. Before they could conduct a traffic stop, the Toyota was involved in a single-vehicle motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 99W and Tampico Road. The driver, Carisa Denton, 30, was later issued criminal citations for several State Parole Board warrants, and issued citations for traffic violations.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On June 11, 2021, at around 6:51 am, deputies were dispatched to Kings Valley Charter School for a suspicious circumstance. An employee reported receiving emailed videos from a woman, which showed her ex-spouse shirtless and with a gun. No crime found.
LITTERING - On Wednesday, June 9, 2021, deputies cited and released Cody James Norman, 30, of Lebanon, near Kings and Fillmore after they observed him throw a cigarette out of his vehicle near Harrison and Merrie.
THEFT OF SERVICES A MIS - On June 9, 2021 around 11:40 AM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a man by phone who reported his Allied recycling can had been stolen from his residence on the 38200 block of Kings Valley Highway, Philomath. He said he needed a case number to not be charged for a new recycling can. There is no suspect information at this time.
FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER PROP DAMAGE - On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 5:28 p.m., deputies responded to the 4100 block of NE Hwy 20, Corvallis, 58, for a hit and run complaint. Robin Haddock struck a pump house causing damage to water mains. Hoddock was issued a citation for hit and run property damage.
THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE – On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 5:19 p.m., deputies responded to the 5200 block of NE Elliott Cir, Corvallis. A man reported his catalytic converter was stolen off his motorhome sometime in the three weeks prior to June 3rd. It is unknown the exact time of the theft, and there are no identifiable suspects.
RECKLESS DRIVING - On Friday, June 4, 2021 at around 12:20 am, deputies attempted to stop a black Acura Legend for improper display hear Highway 99 and Circle. The vehicle fled east on Circle then East on Highway 20, the pursuit was terminated immediately.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at approximately 3:20 P.M., driver 1 was turning east onto Highway 20 from Granger Avenue and did not see driver 2 behind a vehicle and turned in front of her car. Unit 2 was struck on the driver`s side by Unit 1, which was driving west on Highway 20.
HARASSMENT AGGRAVATED - On Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 2:33 PM, deputies were dispatched to the Benton County Jail for a report of an inmate who spit on a Deputy. TIMOTHY RICE, 33, was being escorted back inside the jail after having court at the Benton County Fairgrounds when he spit in Lt. JEWELL`S face twice, hitting him with saliva both times. RICE was cited for Aggravated Harassment (X2).
HARASSMENT PHYSICAL CONTACT/SIMPLE ASSAULT - On Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 7:39 AM, deputies were dispatched to the Carriage House at the Benton County Fairgrounds located at 110 SW 53rd Street in Corvallis for an altercation involving two individuals associated with the inmate work crew. One man instigated a fight with another by trying to hit him from behind. One ended up being briefly knocked unconscious and fled before deputy arrival. The harmed individual did not want to be named a victim.
IDENTITY THEFT - On June 9, 2021 around 9:10a.m, deputies were dispatched to speak with a resident by phone. She reported someone had attempted to use her information to receive unemployment benefits and said they needed a case number to have the application nullified. There was not any suspect information.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 1; WARRANT ARREST; FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE - On June 8, 2021, at about 12:50 p.m., deputies were driving west on SW Avery Avenue at about SW Allen Street when they saw ALEXIS CARRILLO, 23, walking on the railroad tracks and committing Criminal Trespass I. Deputies attempted to contact CARRILLO but she walked quickly in the other direction. They were able to catch up to her at SE 3rd Street and SE Hopkins Avenue. They stopped and arrested CARRILLO for Criminal Trespass I, and confirmed warrants out of Benton County Circuit Court, Jackson County Circuit Court, and Albany Municipal Court. They issued citations for the crimes and warrants in lieu of custody.
WARRANT ARREST - On June 8, 2021 at approximately 11:51 am, deputies were preparing to release SHAW, Nathaniel, 25, from custody after he had served his jail sentence when they learned a warrant had been issued by Albany Municipal Court. An active A-Muni warrant was confirmed and served. Albany Police Dispatch provided a court date. SHAW signed a release agreement, which was forwarded to the court.
WARRANT ARREST - ON JUNE 7, 2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 4:40 PM, MARKS, STEVE, 50, REPORTED TO THE FRONT LOBBY DOORS OF THE BENTON COUNTY JAIL IN CORVALLIS, OREGON TO TURN HIMSELF IN ON A WARRANT. DEPUTIES LOCATED TWO BENTON COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT WARRANTS: CRIMINAL DRIVING WHILE SUSPENDED CLASS A MISDEMEANOR BAIL 3000-00; AND CRIMINAL DRIVING WHILE SUSPENDED CLASS A MISDEMEANOR BAIL 3000-00. MARKS DID NOT MEET LODGING CRITERIA. THEY ISSUED HIM A RELEASE AGREEMENT WITH A COURT DATE FOR THE BENTON COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT AND RELEASED.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 4:56 PM, Unit 1, a Chrysler PT Cruiser was westbound on Highway 20. Unit 2 was on Granger Avenue, a Honda Odyssey, and failed to yield right of way, turning left (eastbound) and striking the front passenger side of Unit 1. There were no injuries and both vehicles were towed due to damage. The driver of Unit 2 was cited for Driving While Suspended (Violation) and Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 8:52 AM, deputies contacted a minivan and travel trailer in the south parking lot of the Benton County Fairgrounds. They ended up arresting three subjects inside the trailer; each had multiple confirmed outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants. ANTONIA CODDINGTON, 31, was transported to the Benton County Jail where she was booked on her warrants and subsequently released. GERALD PAYSENO was transported to the Linn County Jail where he was booked and lodged on his warrants. TERRY HERBERT was cited and released for his warrants at the scene due to health issues.
WARRANT ARREST - ON JUNE 4, 2021, ALEX RICE, 37, WAS GETTING RELEASED FROM THE BENTON COUNTY JAIL WHEN WARRANTS WERE LOCATED: CRIMINAL TRESPASS I, INTERFERING WITH A PO, OBSTRUCTION, AND THEFT 3. A NEW COURT DATE AND TIME WERE PROVIDED BY ALBANY MUNICIPAL COURT. THE SUBJECT WAS RELEASED.
WARRANT ARREST - ON 06/02/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 8:04 PM, HART, BOBBY GENE, 45, TURNED HIMSELF INTO THE BCCF LOBBY LOCATED AT 190 NW 4TH ST ON A WARRANT FOR FTA UUW, NO BAIL. HARP WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
MENACING; THEFT 2 FROM BUILDING - On June 2, 2021 around 3:45 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of Orchard Street, for a burglary in progress. The resident reported Tess Maree Hahn, 23, had broken into his garage and deactivated the security cameras he had installed. Deputies issued Hahn a citation for Menacing and Theft in the Second Degree.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On June 1, 2021, at about 9:10 a.m., deputies responded to a two-vehicle non-injury traffic crash on Highway 20, about 300 yards west of the Highway 20 and Highway 34 intersection. The Toyota Tundra was stopped in traffic due to another traffic crash. The Mercedes failed to stop, thinking traffic was just slow. The driver of the Mercedes rear ended the stopped Toyota. The Toyota was driven from the scene and the Mercedes was towed.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On May 27, 2021, at about 3:39 p.m., deputies responded to Decker Road at about MP 5 for a single vehicle, non-injury crash. A black, 2008 Mercedes C300 was eastbound when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and drove into the ditch. He stated the vehicle rolled and he waited for about 5 hours before he flagged someone down for a ride. A tow company removed the vehicle against his wishes, who wanted to tow the vehicle himself.
THEFT 1 - On Monday, June 7, 2021, at about 3:39 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 24700 block of Evergreen Road, Philomath, regarding a mail theft. A resident reported two checks, one for $1,000.00 and one for $5,000.00, were stolen from her mailbox around April 20, 2021. Today she found the $5,000.00 check in its envelope, opened, and in her mailbox. No attempts were made to cash the checks.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On Monday, June 7, 2021, at about 9:13 am, deputies were dispatched to an Unauthorized Entry to Motor Vehicle located on the 1600 block of SW Allen Street, Oregon. A man reported his wallet stolen from his unlocked vehicle sometime between June 6, 2021, 1:00pm, and June 7, 2021, 8:30am. He found the wallet in his garbage can, missing $990 in cash.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On 6/5/2021 at around 6:00 PM, deputies arrived at the first OSU gate on Sulphur Springs Road after you pass Soap Creek Road. There was a tent set up in the parking lot like someone was camping there. Deputies spoke with a male in the tent and explained to him this was OSU property and it was for day use only. Deputies advised him of a few places around that he could tent camp. He said he would pack up his tent and leave.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT 2 - On Saturday, June 5, 2021, at about 3:12 pm, deputies were dispatched to a disorderly conduct on Highway 20 near milepost 37, Blodgett. Lisa Guerrin, 55, was throwing things at passing cars and attempted to kick them. Deputies cited Guerrin for Disorderly Conduct II, transported her to Corvallis, and released her on 3rd Street in Corvallis.
DUII - On June 5, 2021, at 1:52 AM, deputies stopped Gabriel Servo, 21, of Portland, on Van Buren Avenue near 4th Street in Corvallis for Driving the Wrong Way on a One Way. They later arrested Servo for DUII after determining he was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Servo was cited and released to friends.
DWS MIS - On Friday June 4, 2021 at about 8:45 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 34 near Highway 501. The driver, ROBERT DEAN MOON, 60, of Eugene, was cited for Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor). MOON was cited and released in the field.
ABANDONED VEHICLE - On June 4, 2021, at around 11:49 am, deputies were dispatched to Territorial Highway, near Milepost 1, for an abandoned vehicle. The registered owner reported selling the silver 2000 Volkswagen Bug one month earlier. The Volkswagen was later towed for being a traffic hazard.
ESCAPE 2 - On 6/1/2021 at around 11:30 PM, Timothy Rice, 33, was at the Benton County Fairgrounds, where they are holding trial in the auditorium instead of the courthouse due to COVID19, for a jury trial. Deputy Resnik was the court security watching Rice. Rice got up at went toward the west wall where there is a door to the outside. Deputy Resnik held the door to prevent Rice from escaping the temporary courtroom. Rice went back and sat down at the table with his lawyer. On 6/2/2021, deputies issued Rice a citation for Attempted Escape II for his actions on 6/1/2021.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING - On Monday, May 31, 2021, at approximately 12:45 pm, deputies stopped a silver Toyota 4Runner driven by Jason HELLMAN, 49, near NW Gibson Hill and NW Crocker Lane for expired registration. HELLMAN was later arrested for DUII and processed at the Benton County Sheriff`s Office. He was released to a sober family member.
DOG BITE - On 05/30/2021 at approximately 4:28 AM, deputies were dispatched to the 24100 block of Gellatly Way to assist medics with a dog bite. Upon arrival, the dog was secured in a separate room. An adult male was badly injured from several dog bites. Medics transported the male to the hospital via ambulance.
RECKLESS ENDANGERING; DUII DRUGS; RECKLESS DRIVING; DWS MIS - On Saturday, May 29, 2021, at about 3:30 P.M., deputies arrested Richard Grady Holloway, 43, of Dallas, after crashing his vehicle on Highway 99W near Mcfarland Road. Deputies issued Holloway a criminal citation for DWS-Misdemeanor, DUII-Drugs, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering. Holloway was left in the care of Good Samaritan Hospital staff.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On May 29, 2021, at around 10:35 am, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of NW Lewisburg Ave and Highway 99W. A Toyota Prius was struck by a piece of wood that fell off of a Toyota Tundra as the two vehicle passed each other on Highway 99W. Damage to the Prius exceeded $2,500. No reported injuries.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, June 6, 2021, at about 9:25 P.M., deputies initiated a traffic stop on a Chevy Trailblazer on Ellsworth Street near 1st Street in Albany. They contacted and identified Heather Nichole Gawn, 28. Gawn had a confirmed warrant out of Albany Municipal Court. Deputies issued Gawn a criminal citation before releasing her at the scene.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, June 6, 2021, at about 3:35 P.M., deputies initiated a traffic stop on a white Ford F150 for expired registration on Highway 20 near milepost 32. They contacted and identified the driver as Robert Edward Menke, 56, of Salem. Menke had a confirmed warrant out of Oregon State Parole Board. Deputies transported Menke to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
WARRANT ARREST - On June 6, 2021, at around 2:00pm, deputies located Tara Gill-Stephens, 27, walking improperly along Highway 20, near Milepost 9. Gill-Stephens had a warrant out of Albany Municipal Court for Disorderly Conduct 2. Gill-Stephens was issued a criminal citation and released at the scene.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On June 5, 2021 at about 9:24 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 25100 block of Alpine Rd. A resident reported someone possibly trespassing in a bus parked on the property. The bus was unoccupied and a desk lamp was turned on inside. She suspected the neighbor kids possibly turned the light on. Nothing was missing or damaged.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS W/ FIREARM - On June 5, 2021 at approximately 8:20 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of Independence Hwy and Ryals Rd for a report of UNKNOWN persons shooting at the Benton County gravel storage lot. A nearby neighbor started shooting on his property, causing the UNKNOWN suspects to flee the area. Deputies were unable to locate the UNKNOWN suspects and went to speak with the resident who met them outside his residence with a rifle and refused to put it down at first. The man eventually put the rifle down and spoke to deputies. He admitted to target shooting at some flowers in his garden, but denied doing so to scare or cause alarm to the UNKNOWN suspects. He was less than cooperative during this investigation and, at one point, was placed in handcuffs while deputies finished the investigation. The man was cautioned about Menacing and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Saturday, June 5, 2021, at about 4:10 P.M., deputies responded to a two-vehicle injury crash on Highway 99W near milepost 87. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and the driver of one vehicle was transported to Good Samaritan Emergency Department after suffering apparent minor injuries.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On June 5, 2021 at about 1:13 am, deputies were dispatched to the 5100 block of NW HWY 99W. A resident reported hearing people outside with wrenches messing with her bus. Units were unable to locate anybody in the area.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday June 4, 2021 at about 11:00 PM, deputies contacted KAITLIN QUINN BARBER, 26, in Alsea on the side of the Highway. BARBER was not sure where she was and was clearly under the influence of drugs, so they offered her a ride to Philomath to a phone. While en route to Philomath from Alsea, Dispatch advised BARBER had two outstanding warrants: one out of Lane County Circuit Court and the second out of Florence Municipal Court. Deputies transported BARBER to the Philomath market where they issued her citations on the warrants and she was released.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, June 4, 2021, at about 8:40 P.M., deputies initiated a traffic stop on Independence Highway near milepost one. They contacted and identified Christopher Lee Meahan, 39, who had a confirmed contempt of court warrant out of Albany Municipal Court. Deputies issued Meahan a criminal citation before releasing him at the scene.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, June 4, 2021, at about 8:15 P.M., deputies initiated a traffic stop on a blue Lincoln Navigator at Highway 20 near milepost 6. They contacted the driver and identified her as Trinity Dolores Mendez, 35. Mendez had a confirmed contempt of court warrant out of Albany Municipal Court. Deputies issued Mendez a criminal citation before releasing her at the scene.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 RESULT CRIMINAL ACT; THEFT 3 - On Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11:09 AM, a man reported he found the padlock on the cable barrier which prevents vehicles from driving down to the river at Irish Bend Park had been cut and was missing. Benton County Parks & Natural Areas was contacted and stated they would replace the lock.
THEFT 3 - On June 3, 2021, at around 2:58 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 37000 block of Soap Creek Rd for a reported theft. The resident reported someone stole the cash box containing $50 from her egg stand on June 2, between 5:15 pm and 7:00 pm. No current suspects.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 2:12 PM, deputies were dispatched to the lobby of the Parole & Probation Division of the Benton County Sheriff`s Office at 180 NW 5th Street in Corvallis for a subject with a felony warrant. ETHAN HAWKSFORD, 22, was cited and released for his confirmed warrant at the request of the Benton County Jail.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On Thursday, June 3, 2021, a woman reported she was driving southbound in her Nissan Cube on SW 53rd Street at approximately 11:25 PM on June 2 when she entered the roundabout at SW West Hills Road. An older red pickup truck entered the traffic circle at the same time from the west via West Hills Road. An occupant of the pickup threw a jug of milk at her vehicle, which exploded and cracked the driver’s side headlight housing. She said she did not observe the license plate or the make/model of the suspect pickup.
BURGLARY 2; THEFT 1 FROM BUILDING; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On June 3, 2021, at around 10:16 am, deputies were dispatched to the 1600 block of North Nebergall Loop NE for a reported burglary. The resident reported that three chainsaws were stolen from a barn sometime within the past week. No current suspects.
LITTERING - On June 2, 2021, at 4:54 PM, deputies were stopped at a red light on Highway 34 near Peoria Road in Corvallis when they observed David Noble, 56, throw a cigarette butt out his car window. Noble was stopped and cited into Linn County Circuit Court for Offensive Littering.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 4:20 PM, deputies stopped ERON COUCH, 30, who was riding a bicycle near NW 14th Street & NW Greeley Avenue. Couch had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest and was cited and released on his confirmed warrant at the request of the Benton County Jail
DWS MIS - On Monday, May 31, 2021, around 2:40 A.M., deputies arrested Daniel Deluca, 44, of Cheshire, for Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor after they stopped him on Highway 99 near Lewisburg Avenue. Deluca was issued a criminal citation.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Sunday, May 30, 2021, at about 5:10 P.M., deputies were dispatched to an injury crash on Plymouth Drive near milepost one. They arrived and saw a 2014 Toyota Venza on the east side of the road with front end damage and roof damage. When they went to speak to the driver of the vehicle, they heard her state to the medic on scene that she "took the corner way too fast." Decker was issued a traffic citation for careless driving and the Toyota was towed.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING; FAIL TO APPEAR ON CRIMINAL CITATION - On May 29, 2021, at around 3:08 pm, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a blue Honda Accord on Highway 34 MP 1. The driver, Jordyn Smith, 31, of Roseburg, was later arrested for DUII. Smith was issued criminal citations for DUII, Reckless Driving, and a Yamhill County Circuit Court warrant for UUV (2x). Smith was also issued citations for DWS-V, Driving Uninsured, Illegal Display of Plates, and Operation of an Unsafe Vehicle.
WARRANT ARREST - On May 29, 2021, at around 1:46 pm, deputies were talking with Andrea Dorman, 35, in the parking lot of Super 8 Hotel when Dispatch informed them Dorman had a Benton County Circuit Court warrant for Failure to Appear - Criminal Trespass 1. Dorman was issued a criminal citation for warrant.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3 – On May 27, 2021, at about 12:30 a.m., about 10 dozen eggs were thrown against the buildings and sidewalk at Crescent Valley High School. Two bottles of syrup were also poured out onto the buildings.
PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANT; FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 12:48 PM, DEPUTIES located CASEY LANPHEAR, 33, on the front porch of residence on the 900 block of NW Van Buren Avenue in Corvallis. LANPHEAR had multiple confirmed felony and misdemeanor warrants which he was arrested for. LANPHEAR was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at around 6:36 am, deputies were dispatched to the 24000 block of Hewett Rd for a report of a possibly abandoned vehicle. The caller reported his neighbor had come across the vehicle in question on Hewett RD and it had apparently crashed and rolled moments before. Deputies were able to contact the registered owner via phone who said he scheduled for it to be towed.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at about 6:10 pm, deputies were dispatched to a missing child on the 5100 block of NE Elliot Circle, Corvallis. They arrived and spoke to a father who stated their three-year-old son had gone missing in a fenced yard. After searching for ten minutes his son was located hiding in a car in the driveway playing "hide and go seek". The child was safely reunited with his family.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Tuesday, June 1, 2021, deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on Highway 20 near milepost 49. The driver stated she fell asleep and crashed, rolling the vehicle multiple times. Both occupants were transported to the Good Samaritan and the vehicle was towed.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Monday, May 31, 2021, around 10:50 P.M., deputies responded to a burglary call on the 24300 block of Price Creek Road. The property was searched and determined the family dog was inside the residence.
THEFT 2 - On Monday, May 31, 2021 at around 8:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to a call of a theft of a cell phone from Ellmaker State Park. The caller left her cell phone in the restroom. She used a GPS application to locate the phone. It showed the phone near Highway 20, and Porter Rd. She called the phone and the call was answered, but no one said anything. The phone call ended and phone turned off. No further GPS information.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT - On Monday, May 31, 2021, around 12:45 A.M., deputies were dispatched to the area of Highway 99 near milepost 98 for a female approaching houses, asking for a lighter and phone. Deputies arrived and located the female on the side of Highway 99. She said she was looking for a phone to get a ride to a residence off Dawson Road. She said she had been walking from Junction City. Deputies gave her a ride to Dawson Road and dropped her off at the driveway to the residence.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Sunday, May 30, 2021 at approximately 12:50 P.M., deputies were dispatched to attempt to locate a vehicle that may be stolen with occupants who may have been intoxicated. Deputies located the vehicle at approximately 1:15 P.M. at Fern Road near Aurora Lane. They spoke with the occupants, who did not appear intoxicated. Deputies checked the vehicle for stolen status and learned it was a rental vehicle that was not reported as stolen. Dispatch reported one of the occupants had an extraditable warrant through Colorado. When dispatch attempted to confirm the warrant, they were told Colorado did not want to extradite.
DUII - On May 29, 202, at 11:42 pm, deputies stopped Justin Andrew Santini, 38, on North 9th Street near Main Street in Philomath for Failure to Drive within Lane, and Improper Left Turn. they later arrested Santini for DUII, after determining he was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Santini refused to provide a breath test. Deputies obtained a Telephonic Search Warrant and seized a blood specimen from Santini. Santini was cited and released to a sober family member.
BURGLARY 2; UUV; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; THEFT 1 AGGRAVATED - On Friday, May 21, 2021 at 12:18 pm, deputies were dispatched to Pettibone Drive & Granger Avenue for a suspicious vehicle. There they located a 33` 2018 Outdoors RV brand camper trailer which had been stolen from a storage facility on Storage on Elliott Circle and not yet been reported. The current owners of the trailer were contacted and a tow company assisted them in transporting it.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On Monday, May 31, 2021, at about 6:22 pm, deputies were dispatched to an Unauthorized Entry to Motor Vehicle located on the 8600 block of NW Peavy Arboretum Road, Corvallis. A man reported his vehicle was broken into by breaking a widow and two jackets with miscellaneous items in the pockets was stolen. Total stolen property value is $182.00, and $250 valued damage to vehicle. No suspect identified at this time.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY – On Monday, May 31, 2020, at about 10:54 am, deputies were dispatched to a single motorcycle crash located on Marys Peak Road, Milepost 8, Philomath. A man rode his 2015 Triumph motorcycle into soft material at the edge of the road while negotiating a corner, lost control, and crashed. The rider was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by ambulance and the motorcycle was towed from the scene.
RECKLESS ENDANGERING; ELUDE VEHICLE; PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANT; ELUDE FOOT - On May 31, 2021 at about 2:30 am, dispatched informed local units that Albany PD had a gray 4-door Honda with no plates drive off during a traffic stop. At about 3:10 am, deputies located the vehicle northbound on Scenic and attempted a traffic stop. The suspect failed to stop and was pursued into Dallas. Deputies arrested Douglas William Reyes, 32, of Salem, after a short foot pursuit. They transported Reyes to the Benton County Jail where he was lodged for Elude, a Parole Violation warrant and reckless endangering.

Unit 1, a gray 2007 Honda Element, was westbound on Greenberry Road when the driver said she experienced a steering malfunction while negotiating a left curve in the road. The vehicle left the roadway, rolled, and landed on its tires about 20 feet from the pavement. The driver had no apparent injuries and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On Sunday, May 31, deputies were dispatched to Tobe Creek Road near milepost 1 for a suspicious vehicle. They arrived and saw a black 2003 Volkswagen Jetta parked on the side of the road. Deputies drove Tobe Creek and found the registered owner about four miles from the vehicle with a hiking pack on. The man said he was out for a hike and was going to be leaving when he returned to the car.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Sunday, May 30, 2021, at about 10:17 am, deputies were dispatched to the 1100 block of NW Overlook Drive, Corvallis, Oregon regarding a suspicious person. One of the residents of the home suffers from dementia and was having trouble recognizing the purpose of the caretaker’s presence. Deputies were able to get the resident to accept the caretaker as a person there to render medical assistance.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On May 29, 2021 at approximately 3:54 pm, MICEK, Brittney, 22, turned herself into the jail on a warrant for DUII. A new court date and time was given.
FOUND PROPERTY - On Saturday, May 29, 2021, at about 3:29 pm, deputies took a report for found property located near NE Springhill Drive and NW Scenic Drive, Albany, Oregon. Two bicyclist found a checkbook and passport for people who live out of the area. Both owners of the property found reported the items were taken from their mailbox. The items were destroyed as requested by the owners.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On May 29, 2021, at around 12:52 pm, deputies were dispatched to a reported trespass on the 18600 block of Highway 34. A resident reported a red Ford F150 drove onto her property and then drove away at a high speed after she tried to confront it. The Ford was later located, and the driver explained he had been lost. No crime found.
VIOL RELEASE AGREEMENT - On Saturday, May 29, 2021, at about 10:06 am, deputies were dispatched to the Benton County Correctional Facility located at 190 NW 4th Street, Corvallis, regarding a Violation of a Release Agreement. Jeffrey Reeves, 36, violated a Benton County Circuit Court Release Agreement by having direct contact with the victim listed on the agreement by a phone call made from the jail. Reeves violated the Release Agreement a second time, by indirectly contacting the victim, by a second phone call made from the jail, telling a relative to call the victim. Deputies completed a Probable Cause Affidavit for arrest for Violating Release Agreement x2, and delivered it to the jail.
DUII; FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER PROP DAMAGE - On May 29, 2021 at about 2:35 am, deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block of Hwy 20. The caller reported a vehicle parked in her driveway that ran into a fence. The caller also reported the male driver was possibly intoxicated. Deputies contacted the driver, Javier Hernandez Sanchez, 48. They arrested Javier for DUII after determining he was impaired and unable to operate a motor vehicle safely. Javier was released to his friend and his vehicle was towed from the scene.
WARRANT ARREST - On 05/28/2021 at approximately 11:00 PM, deputies responded to the 23800 block of Maxfield Creek to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival, they contacted Kathrin Bly, 49, and Jimmie Barton, 47. Both Bly and Barton had warrants for their arrest. Bly was issued citations in lieu of custody. Barton was transported to the Linn County Jail.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, May 28, 2021, at about 10:00 P.M., deputies initiated a traffic stop on 3rd Street near Twin Oaks Circle on a Honda CRV. Deputies identified the driver as Jeremy Joseph Marchand, 43. Marchand had four confirmed warrants out of various agencies. Deputies issued Marchand criminal citations before releasing him at the scene.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On May 28, 2021 at approximately 11:40 am, STRAIT, Cory, 23, turned himself into the jail on a warrant for FTA- Resisting arrest. A new court date and time was given to appear.
THEFT 2 - On May 28, 2021 a resident on the 4200 block of NW Glenwood Avenue reported the theft of a Remington Chainsaw from his front yard the previous night. No suspects or video evidence.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, May 28, 2021, at about 12:00 A.M., deputies I initiated a traffic stop on a purple Honda with expired registration. I contacted the passenger, Erin Winona Mcclung, 29, and learned she had a confirmed warrant out of Albany Municipal Court for Theft II. Deputies issued Mcclung a criminal citation and released her at the scene.
WARRANT ARREST - On Thursday, May 27, 2021, at about 11:20 P.M., deputies contacted Mindy Ann Krieg, 41, in a vehicle on 1st Street near Van Buren Avenue. Krieg had a confirmed warrant for disorderly conduct out of Albany Municipal Court. Deputies issued Krieg a criminal citation and released her at the scene.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On Thursday, May 27, 2021, at about 8:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to Lester Avenue near Highland Drive for a report of a male swinging a light on a chain. They arrived and located the male in the Chip Ross parking area. The male was not committing any criminal acts and stated he was simply lost. Deputies gave him a courtesy ride to Corvallis and dropped him off at Central Park.
IMPROPER USE OF 911 - On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at approximately 8:11 PM, deputies were dispatched to "Safe Camp" located at 4515 SW West Hills Road, Corvallis for report of a disturbance. A woman had called 911 without an emergency to report and had been yelling and causing a disturbance at the location. Deputies told the woman to go to bed and warned her she would be arrested for Improper Use of Emergency Communications System if she continued to call 911 without an emergency to report.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 3:55 PM, a concrete mixer truck was traveling southbound (uphill) on Sulphur Springs Road while negotiating a left-hand corner, just south of Forest Springs Lane. A male was riding a skateboard northbound (downhill) on Sulphur Springs Road when he lost control and crossed into the oncoming lane. PERKINS was able to come to a stop to avoid running the skateboarder over. The male struck the front passenger side tire of the truck with his right buttock before sliding into the ditch on the west side of the road. The skateboarder, who had been wearing a helmet, was transported by Medics to Good Samaritan Hospital for injuries.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 5/26/21, DAVID BARBOSA, 40, WAS SENTENCED AND WAS GOING TO BE RELEASED. A RECORDS CHECK FOUND HE HAD A WARRANT FOR FTA THEFT II, OUT OF CLARK CO. BARBOSA WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
DWS MIS - On Tuesday, May 25, 2021, around 10:15 P.M., Nicole Francois-Bergstrom, 43, of Junction City, was arrested for Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor near Howard Lane and Lingo Lane. A criminal citation was issued.
DWS MIS; WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, May 25, 2021, around 9:15 P.M., Mitchell Larkin, 30, of Springfield, was arrested on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant and Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor near 5th Street and Ash Street in Monroe. Larkin was released with criminal citations.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 5/25/21 at about 6:22 am, deputies drove up on a Toyota pickup in the ditch on Bellfountain Rd just south of 53rd St. A driver was towing a flatbed trailer northbound on Bellfountain Rd. The trailer came off the hitch causing the vehicle to fishtail and breaking the tow chains. The vehicle entered the east ditch and the trailer entered the west ditch. The driver called a friend to pull the truck and trailer from the ditch. Both the trailer and truck were driven away from the scene.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT 2 - On Monday, May 24, 2021 at approximately 2:05 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the lobby of the Law Enforcement Center for a harassment complaint. they arrived and spoke with a woman who told them that while she was at the Corvallis Municipal Court, she was yelled at by the mother of her son’s victim. She said she was yelled at because the mother thought she was taking photos of them. She wanted this reported in case deputies could speak to them or if they tried to complain about her.
THEFT 2 VEH PARTS/ACC; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 RESULT CRIMINAL ACT - On May 23, 2021, at around 9:45 am, deputies were dispatched to Highway 99W Milepost 80 for an unlawful entry to a motor vehicle. A man reported that someone had broken the window of his 1999 Chevrolet Blazer during the night while it was parked along the highway after running out of gas. He reported several minor items and the vehicle battery were stolen. No current suspects.
RECKLESS ENDANGERING; DUII - On 5/22/21 at about 11:36 pm, deputies stopped Cody Valentine Beck, 31, of Salem, on HWY 223 near Hoskins for several traffic violations. Deputies arrested Beck for DUII and Reckless Endangering. They transported Beck to the Philomath Police Department where he refused a breath test. They then transported Beck to the Good Samaritan Hospital where they executed a search warrant for a blood sample. Beck was released to a friend.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 9:45 AM, deputies stopped a red Ford Ranger pickup on Highway 99W near Circle Boulevard in Corvallis after learning the passenger, ANTHONY JACKSON, 39, had outstanding warrants for his arrest. Deputies cited and released JACKSON for two confirmed misdemeanor warrants.
DWS MIS; WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, May 21, 2021 at 4:21 PM, deputies stopped a red Chevy pickup near 9th Street and Circle Boulevard in Corvallis for a traffic violation. They arrested the driver, JOHN MASTERSON JR, 54, for Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor) and multiple confirmed, outstanding misdemeanor warrants. MASTERSON was issued criminal citations with court dates in lieu of custody.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, May 21, 2021, at about 12:55 A.M., deputies contacted Gene Anthony Carnes, 20, on Hickory Street near North Albany Road. Carnes had a confirmed warrant for Probation Violation out of Lebanon Municipal court. Deputies issued Carnes a criminal citation before releasing him at the scene.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Thursday, May 20, 2021 at about 1:08 pm, deputies were was dispatched to the area of Highway 34 near milepost 29 for a single vehicle rollover crash. The driver stated she was traveling west on Hwy 34 when she became drowsy. She stated she fell asleep causing her vehicle to leave the roadway. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its top. She stated she was not injured. A tow company removed the vehicle from the roadway.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM - On May 18, 2021, deputies spoke to a resident on the 4700 block of SW Nash Ave by phone. They reported the previous night someone struck their mailboxes, address marker and tore off some wood around an electric pole with their vehicle. There are no suspects.
THEFT 2 VEH PARTS/ACC - On May 18, 2021 at about 9:00 a.m., deputies spoke to Josh Hamann by phone. He reported the theft of a catalytic converter from a work van parked on the 6200 block of SW Reservoir Ave. There are no suspects.
DWS MIS - On Sunday May 16, 2021 at about 1:05 AM, deputies stopped a pick-up truck on 14th St. and Monroe Ave. for a traffic violation. Dispatch indicated the driver, JUSTIN CURTIS GILMORE, 34, was Suspended Misdemeanor. GILMORE was issued a citation in the field and released.
THEFT 3 - On May 12, 2021, deputies spoke to the resident on the 25200 block of Orchard Tract Rd, Monroe, by phone. He reported the theft of a package from his mailbox valued at $14.00.
WARRANT ARREST - On Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at approximately 8:35 A.M., deputies stopped Ricardo Naranjo, 26, on Granger Avenue near Pettibone Drive after he was speeding in the school zone. Naranjo gave deputies his Oregon Identification Card and told them he was suspended. Dispatch advised Naranjo was Driving While Suspended-violation, and had a confirmed misdemeanor warrant through Albany Municipal Court, Contempt of Court, Bail 00. Deputies cited Naranjo for DWS-violation, Violating the designated speed for 38 in a 20 mph zone, and his warrant. Deputies explained both citations and court dates to Naranjo and then released him. Another driver drove the vehicle away from the traffic stop.
WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at approximately 1:55 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the lobby of Parole and Probation for Donald Lee Resue, 27, who had a warrant. Deputies cited and released Donald Resue on a confirmed Albany Municipal Court Warrant for Theft III, Bail 00. Deputies explained to Resue the citation and court date prior to releasing him.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On May 25, 2021, a resident called to report suspicious activity coming from the 24600 block of Evergreen Road, Philomath. She described unusual vehicle traffic, vehicle noise and dog continually coming on her property.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Monday, May 24, 2021 at approximately 3:50 P.M., vehicle 1 was driving North on Highland Drive near Raider Way. The driver attempted to turn left onto Raider way and realized she was driving too fast. She attempted to brake, but pushed her accelerator instead, causing her to crash into a vehicle that was parked on Raider Way on the north side of the road.
PERMITTING A DOG TO RUN AT LARGE – On May 24, 2021, deputies gave a dog owner living on the 3200 block of Charmyr Vista Lane in Corvallis a warning. The warning was for allowing his two dogs running at large and onto the neighbor`s property acting in an menacing manner.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, May 21, 2021 at approximately 7pm, deputies stopped Cheyanne Baty-Skinner, 26, of Lincoln City, near 3rd and Polk in Corvallis. They arrested her for multiple warrants and transported her to the Lincoln County Jail.
MENACING; UNLAW USE OF WEAPON; WARRANT ARREST - On 5/11/2021 at around 4:15 PM, deputies responded to the 26400 block of Alpine Cutoff Rd to a reported disturbance. Samantha Meyer, 34, of Junction City, had 3 confirmed warrants and deputies transported her to the Lane County Jail for 2 of them.
UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; FRAUDULENT USE CREDIT CARD; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE - On Monday, May 24, 2021, deputies were dispatched to contact a man concerning a theft from his vehicle. He told deputies on Friday, May 21, 2021, an unknown person broke his rear driver’s side window and stole items including a laptop and debit/credit cards. His vehicle was parked on the southwest corner of the Benton County Fairgrounds.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 5/19/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:35 PM, SPENCER, JONATHAN, 52, TURNED HIMSELF INTO THE BCCF LOBBY ON A WARRANT FOR FTA DUII. SPENCER WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 5/19/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 1:02 PM, JAIL DEPUTIES RAN NOLAN, ALLEN, 24, TO PREPARE FOR RELEASE. HE HAD A WARRANT FOR FTA INTERFERE. NOLAN WAS ISSUED A NEW COURT DATE.
FRAUDULENT USE CREDIT CARD; IDENTITY THEFT - On May 24, 2021 around 9:00PM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a resident by phone, for a reported theft. The woman reported her debit card had been stolen and was used to make a purchase from Harbor Fright, in Albany. She said she needed a case number in order to get the purchases refunded, because the purchase from Harbor Freight was $252.00. Deputies gave her a case number, and will follow up with Harbor Freight during business hours
HARBORING A BARKING DOG - May 24, 2021 10:15 a.m., a dog owner living on the 4900 block of NW Dumbeck Ave in Albany received a warning for an ongoing issue of her dog barking and disturbing the neighbors.
LITTERING - On May 23, 2021, at around 7:32am, deputies were dispatched to the 5100 block of NW Highway 99W for a report of criminal mischief. The resident reported that she saw her neighbor scatter her trash in her yard during the middle of the night. The neighbor stated she was paranoid and always making claims against him. Deputies advised her not to wait to call Dispatch for crimes, and the neighbor was advised to stay away from the reporter.
DWS MIS - On May, 22 2021 at about 9:45 PM, deputies were traveling west on Highway 20, Corvallis, near the intersection of Circle Boulevard. They observed a white pickup truck turn left onto Circle Boulevard from Highway 20, and almost crash into the vehicle in front of them. Deputies stopped the vehicle, driven by DAVID ERIC OLSEN, 56, and issued OLSEN a citation for Misdemeanor Driving While Suspended.
THEFT 1 - On Saturday, May 22, 2021, at about 2:02 pm, deputies were dispatched to a firearm theft located on the 25600 block of Springhill Drive, Monroe. The resident reported a .45 calibur Big Boy Mare’s Leg rifle stolen. His Big Boy Rifle was found in Gentry Bergstrom’s, 41, possession in Eugene. Deputies issued Bergstrom a citation for Theft I at the Lane County Jail where he is being lodged on a US Marshall hold.
PERMITTING A DOG TO RUN AT LARGE – On May 21, 2021 12:15 p.m., deputies transported a stray dog at large from Misty Acres Drive in Alsea to the Heartland Humane Society where he was impounded. The dog was picked up by his owner a few hours later.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - MICHAEL BROWN, 36, SUBJECT TURNED HIMSELF IN AT BENTON COUNTY JAIL ON 5-20-2021 @ 12:11 PM ON A PV STRANGULATION WARRANT OUT OF BENTON COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT, CITE ONLY. A NEW COURT DATE WAS ISSUED AND THE SUBJECT WAS RELEASED.
HARASSMENT - On Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at approximately 9:26 PM, deputies were dispatched to contact a woman regarding threats made against her daughter. Deputies later spoke to the daughter by phone who said she had been receiving threatening text messages from a man. Deputies were unable to locate him and advised her to apply for a stalking order at the Benton County Circuit Court and contact them if she obtained information where he may be so they could contact him.
THEFT 2 VEH PARTS/ACC - On Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at approximately 5:39 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of Fitton Green trailhead in the area of 900 NW Panorama Drive for report of license plates which had just been stolen from a vehicle parked there. A man had returned to his vehicle to find an approximately 20-30 year old male switching the license plates from another vehicle to his. The suspect fled in a grey or light blue colored Honda Accord later found to be stolen after switching the plates on the victim’s vehicle. The suspect was not located and the victim’s license plates were registered as stolen.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 5/19/2021 at around 5:00 PM, Vehicle #1 was traveling westbound on Highway 20 approaching Mile Post 34. The driver saw a semi-truck going eastbound and believed it was coming into her lane of travel. She said she hit her brakes, over corrected and drove into the ditch area and rolled the vehicle. The vehicle came to rest on the passenger side in the ditch area. A tow company arrived and towed the vehicle due to the damage.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 05/19/21 Hubler, Derek, 28, of Bend, turned himself in at the Benton Co jail on a Benton Circuit warrant for PV-encg chld sex abuse. Deputies served the warrant on Hubler.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 5/19/21 at approximately 12:15 am, Cynthia Marquez, 32, turned herself into the lobby of the Benton County Jail on a Benton County Circuit cite and release warrant for Delivery of Meth. Warrant was served and court date given.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 05/18/21 BAKER, James Lee, 21, of Lebanon, was getting released from Benton Co Jail when deputies learned Baker had a Lebanon Municipal warrant for FTA shoplifting. Deputies served the warrant on Baker.
WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday May 18, 2021 at about 12:15 AM, deputies stopped a van on 5th St at Monroe Ave. Dispatch indicated both passengers, RICHARD DEWEY HARDESTY, 49, and SELINA RENEE FORD-BLACKBURN, 36, had outstanding warrants. HARDESTY`s warrant was out of Linn County Circuit Court for F.T.A.- P.C.S. II and FORD-BLACKBURN`s was for Probation Violation - False Information. Both were cited and released in the field on the warrants.
IDENTITY THEFT - On Monday, May 17, 2021, at about 4:00 PM, deputies were dispatched to a fraud on the 7400 block of Northwest Independence Highway, near Albany. They called and spoke to the victim who stated her Social Security Number was used to file taxes. She informed she was not out any money, but needed a case number to be able to make a claim and file her taxes. She said she had no idea who would have used it. Deputies provided her with a case number and informed her to look at bank statements and other recourses to confirm her identity is not being used in other means.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Monday, May 17, 2021, at about 3:05 PM, deputies were dispatched to a crash on Highway 20 near Northwest Independence Highway. They arrived and spoke with the driver of vehicle 1, who stated he was rear ended and the other driver had no insurance. His red Nissan Versa was rear ended by a silver Jeep Cherokee with minimal damage. The driver of the Jeep stated he had no insurance and was "creeping forward" and ended up rear ending the Nissan while on Independence Highway. The driver of the Jeep was issued a citation for Driving Uninsured and for Following Too Close. The remainder of the information was provided between parties. No tow needed for either vehicle.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Sunday, May 16, 2021, at about 2:03 pm, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Hwy 20 Milepost 43, Philomath. A 2005 Nissan Titan was stopped in the eastbound lane with the left turn signal activated waiting for westbound traffic to clear to turn northbound on Priest Road. A 2013 Volkswagen Passat was traveling eastbound on Hwy 20, failed to see the Nissan stopped in front of him, and crashed into the back of the Nissan. All occupants of both vehicles had no apparent injuries, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On May 11, 2021 at approximately 1:36 pm, DENAULT Jason, 31, was transported from Multnomah Co. Jail via the prisoner transportation shuttle. Upon DENAULT`S arrival at the Benton Co. Jail, a valid Lebanon Municipal Court Warrant was located and confirmed. The warrant was served and a court date was issued by Lebanon PD as follows: FTA - Assault IV. A signed release agreement was forwarded to the court.
DWS MIS; WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, May 23, 2021, at about 7:05 P.M., deputies initiated a traffic stop on a white Ford F150 for expired registration on Highway 20 near mile post 7. Deputies contacted the driver and identified him as Donald Spencer Ray Hendershot, 47, of Eugene. They later arrested Hendershot for Driving While Suspended-misdemeanor and a failure to appear warrant out of Josephine County. Hendershot was transported to the Benton County Sheriff`s office where he was released with criminal citations.
MISSING PERSON - On May 23, 2021, at around 11:59 am, deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of NE Fair Acres Dr. for a report of a missing person. A man reported his girlfriend missing from her house after frantically calling and asking him to come over immediately. He reported she is being stalked. During the investigation, the girlfriend arrived at her house. No crime found.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, May 22, 2021, at about 7:45 P.M., deputies initiated a traffic stop on Ellsworth Street near 1st Avenue. They contacted and identified the driver as Reina White Olbera, 41. Dispatch advised Olbera had a confirmed fail to appear warrant out of Linn County Circuit Court. Deputies issued Olbera a criminal citation before releasing her at the scene.
PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANT - On May 22, 2021 around 6:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 7000 block of Mountain View Drive, Corvallis, because a man named, "LINSON," was allegedly trespassing on the property of the reporting person’s friend. LINSON LAVELLE JOHNSON, 50, had a warrant for his arrest for violating his parole. Deputies transported JOHNSON to the Linn County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On May 22, 2021 around 4:00 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of 53rd Street, Corvallis for a reported vehicle crash. The caller said her neighbor had backed into the front of her vehicle, and was unwilling to exchange information. Deputies obtained his insurance information and gave it to her. The man told deputies an agent from Progressive was going to come and take care of everything for him, because he did not want to talk to her.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1 VANDALISM - On Saturday, May 22, 2021, at about 7:37am, deputies were dispatched to a criminal mischief on the 4600 block of NW Scenic Drive, Albany. A resident reported his daughter’s 2014 Mazda MZ3 was spray painted with gold paint, including a sketch of male genitalia, on the driver’s side. His Ring camera caught activity around the car at about 4:06am. Total value of damage to vehicle, $2,000. No suspect identified at this time.
WARRANT ARREST - On 5/22/21 at about 5:42 am, deputies stopped Teresa Perez Hernandez, 30, for speeding 75/55 SB on HWY 99W near Greenberry. Teresa was Driving While Suspended and had a confirmed no bail cite and release Linn County Circuit Court warrant for FTA-DUII. The warrant was served and Teresa was given a Linn County Court date
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On 5/22/21 at about 1:05 am, deputies were dispatched to the 5100 block of HWY 99W for a report of three people pouring gas around a trailer near 5140 NW HWY 99w. Deputies contacted the resident. No odor of gasoline was present and the resident said he had two friends visiting him.
THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 RESULT CRIMINAL ACT; ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On Friday, May 21, 2021, at about 6:00 P.M., deputies were dispatched to an unlawful entry into a motor vehicle on the 8600 block of Peavy Arboretum Road. They spoke with the victim, who reported her wallet was taken. There is no suspect information at this time.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, May 21, 2021, at about 2:45 P.M., deputies contacted Steven Anthoney Young, 26, on Highway 20 near milepost 5 for improper positioning on the roadway. Dispatch advised Young had a confirmed warrant out of Linn County for Probation Violation. They arrested Young and issued him a criminal citation before giving him a courtesy transport into Albany where he was released.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On May 21, 2021, at around 12:54 pm, deputies were dispatched to Adair Park for a report of a suspicious person. Adair City employees reported arguing with a woman after she drove a golf cart into a restricted area near the city’s sewage treatment plant. They later talked with the woman, who agreed to stay out of the restricted area and not drive her golf cart on city streets.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, May 21, 2021 at 9:22 AM, Deputies went to the 3000 block of SW Chintimini Avenue in Corvallis to contact ERIN VAN NORSDALL, 44, who had been calling Dispatch over the past few days. VAN NORSDALL also had multiple felony warrants which Dispatch later confirmed. VAN NORSDALL was arrested on her warrants, which the Benton County Jail requested deputies issue her criminal citations with court dates in lieu of custody for.
THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 RESULT CRIMINAL ACT - On May 21, 2021, at around 8:30 am, deputies were dispatched to Santiam Christian High School for an unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle. A student reported that someone broke the window to her 2007 Honda Accord and stole a backpack, which contained a laptop, books, and wallet. She valued the stolen items at around $1230 in total. No current suspects.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE - On May 21, 2021 at around 2 am, deputies contacted Michael Newhouse near the 31600 block of Highway 99W south of Corvallis. A local resident thought Newhouse may have been walking around their carport area. Newhouse denied being on the homeowner’s property. Newhouse was walking to the Eugene area. He had a warrant for his arrest out of Linn County Circuit Court. Deputies arrested Newhouse and transported him to the Linn County Jail in Albany where he was lodged. Deputies took Newhouse’s personal property to the Sheriff`s Office and entered the items into evidence for safekeeping.
PROBATION VIOLATION - On Thursday, May 20, 2021 at about 9:25 A.M., deputies assisted DHS at 193 E Alder Street, Alsea. Axel James Stewart Hanson, 38, was inside the residence. There is a no contact order through Linn County preventing Axel from contacting a female in the residence. Linn County DA`s office informed deputies a violation of the order would be a probation violation.
DWS MIS - On Thursday, May 20, 2021, at about 8:20 P.M., deputies arrested Dakota Tyler Ewing, 21, of St. Helens, for Driving While Suspended-Misdemeanor. Deputies issued Ewing a criminal citation before releasing him at the scene.
