Benton County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) – The purpose of a community-based Sexual Assault Response Team is to ensure an effective, consistent, comprehensive and collaborative response to sexual assault that prioritizes the needs of sexual assault victims and brings responsible persons to justice. (Oregon Attorney General's Sexual Assault Taskforce, 2002)

The goals of the SART are to provide an immediate and victim-centered response to cases of sexual assault, to conduct timely investigations into allegations of sexual assault when those cases are reported to law enforcement, to criminally prosecute perpetrators of sexual assault when legally appropriate, to provide comprehensive services to victims of sexual assault, and to coordinate with local medical service providers to ensure appropriate response and referral in cases of sexual assault.
