Face coverings no longer required in Benton County
Wednesday, June 30, 2021
**Please note: Properly worn face-coverings are still required in all County Community Health Centers.
Effective today, June 30, 2021, Benton County businesses will no longer need to require face coverings and physical distancing under local guidance and state executive order.
In a desire to align with Governor Kate Brown’s Executive Order 21-15, which rescinds remaining COVID-19 restrictions, Benton County has replaced the recommendations contained in Resolution #R2020-017 with new recommendations in Resolution #2021-022. The new resolution encourages people to wear masks in indoor settings and crowded outdoor settings due to the large number of people not yet vaccinated against COVID-19 and the ongoing monitoring of COVID-19 variants.
The resolution also announces that individuals and members of the public are no longer required to wear face coverings in County facilities.
Pursuant to County Code Chapter 32.030, the Chair of the Benton County Board of Commissioners may implement the provisions of this resolution as part of the emergency authority granted through the County’s declaration of emergency as stated in Order No. D2021-052. The Board of Commissioners intends to ratify and adopt the resolution on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at their regularly scheduled 9:00 a.m. Board meeting.
Resolution #R2021-022 can be read in its entirety below.
