Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Program for Benton County started in January of 2021. The program aims to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts in Benton County by training staff, creating and updating policies and practices, and supporting community members and organizations serving Benton County.

The program is run by the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Program Coordinator, Sarah Siddiqui (preferred pronouns: she/her/hers). Sarah previously worked for the state of Oregon where she worked to address the racial disparities in homeownership and affordable housing, collaborated with other EDI leaders, applied an equity lens to programs and policies, and served as a leader in equity, diversity, and inclusion related projects and programs. She attended Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis where she received her undergraduate degree in education, and attended Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. for her masters in social work.

Sarah currently has a hybrid work schedule, and can be found at the Kalapuya Building at 4500 SW Research Way. Don’t hesitate to reach out or set up a meeting. Feel free to contact her at Sarah.Siddiqui@co.benton.or.us or 541-766-6851.
