The Benton County Public Works Department has contracted with one distributor to deliver a dust control product at a reduced rate for Benton County residents on County and public roadways this year.

Nutrien Ag Solutions will be applying Lignin, a naturally occurring polymer found in wood that acts like glue holding the cellulose fibers of pulp together. Lignosulfonates work by binding the road surface particles together. Water evaporates from the lignosulfonate as it dries, and the dust particles are trapped by the high-viscosity, naturally sticky material. In addition, over time some of the lignosulfonates become completely insoluble due to solar heating.

Community members interested in dust control services who reside on a County or public road, can call 541-766-6821 or download application permits at: Completed applications with pre-payment must be received at Benton County Public Works, 360 SW Avery Ave, Corvallis, OR 97333 by 5:00 p.m., Monday, May 2. After we receive your permit application and payment, a receipt and flags will be mailed to you. Flags must be installed by Monday, May 9.
