Benton County Assessor’s Office to conduct property reappraisals in September and October
Wednesday, August 30, 2023
The Benton County Assessor’s Office is committed to ensuring the accuracy of property values in our community. As part of this ongoing effort, our appraisal team will be conducting physical reappraisals of properties throughout the County during September and early October.
What's Included?
This reappraisal initiative covers a wide range of properties, including residential, farm, forest, commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties. Our goal is to keep our property records up to date and accurate, and your cooperation is essential in achieving this objective.
Why Reappraisals?
To provide the most precise property values, periodic re-appraisals are necessary. During this process, our appraisers will focus on properties where our records lack sketches and photos.
What to Expect When We Visit Your Property
Our appraisers will always be easily identifiable, wearing Benton County vests and carrying official identification cards. They will always approach your door first. During the site visit the appraiser will:
- Update dwelling information currently on record.
- Verify measurements of all structures.
- Take photographs of the property.
Our Commitment
Reappraisals have been an ongoing practice at the Assessor’s Office for several years. Our aim is to keep residents informed about potential site visits and ensure the accuracy of our records.
Next Steps
Following the reappraisal cycle, our appraisers will also be responsible for fielding and verifying property sales that occurred in the 2023 calendar year. We will issue additional information as we move into that phase.
Our Legal Obligation
Please note that the Benton County Assessor’s Office is legally obligated to value all properties at 100% Real Market Value as of January 1 of each year. For any questions or concerns related to this reappraisal process, please contact the Benton County Assessor’s Office at 541-766-6855.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to maintain fair and accurate property valuations in Benton County.
About Benton County Assessor’s Office
