US20: Conifer to Merloy

Conifer to Merloy is the first segment of the Corvallis-Albany Path on the preferred Highway 20 alignment that will receive attention.  This segment was chosen because the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) identified the Conifer to Merloy segment as one of several locations along Highway 20 that need safety improvements.  ODOT plans to widen the highway to accommodate a left turn lane along this stretch of Highway 20.  For more information, please visit their project webpage: US20: Safety Upgrades (Albany to Corvallis).

David Evans and Associates (DEA) has been hired by the County to perform surveying and design for the Corvallis-Albany Path between Conifer and Merloy.  The County and DEA are coordinating with ODOT to ensure the path will fit with future improvements in this location.  The County hopes to have preliminary design of an alignment by early 2021 so that right-of-way acquisition and utility relocation can happen at the same time as ODOT's efforts.

More information about this project can be found on the Corvallis-Albany Bikeway webpage.
